Hello!
Sprint Note 5 stock original 5.1.1. I need to put custom recovery and root. I know how to do that. I have been away from the scene for a while. Not since CM.
Should I update the OS OTA then root and ROM? Or can I just go from my current 5.1.1?
I need a stable ROM that has wifi tether, and no bloatware.
Can anyone suggest a ROM and a Kernel to Odin for my root?
I have been reading and watching a lot of YouTube but all the rom choice's have my head spinning.
Thanks!!
Max
Search forum Dr ketan note rom and ask there

- You can go from Android 5.1.1 to 7.0 without any upgrades done befor but BL and CP have to be upgraded.
Flash Recovery and than ROM Kernel etc. ( Look at Tutorials if you dont know how to )

Hi,
I've used my Note 1 for quite a while now and have tested various custom ROMS on it. I now want to take it back to stock ROM and from what I can gather it should be pretty simple to accomplish. However I have a couple of concerns:
There are so many stock ROMS out there... How do I determine which one I should use? Does it matter or will all work?
I read in a comment somewhere that I should not "downgrade" to a ROMS with an earlier Android version. Is this true?
I am currently running Mokee version MK44.4-n7000-141219-RELEASE with Android version 4.4.4
Baseband version N7000XXLT3
Hope you can help!
Thanks!

You can flash whichever 4.1.2 ROM you prefer. Go to samsungupdates.com and flash via PC of mobile Odin. Read up on how to do it properly. Guides already exist.

I still have a Note 3 wifi only that i use for games. It has 4.4.2 Dynamic 6.1 KillerKat on it. Any chance Nougat rom has been made for this device and could I install it still? Been a while since I have flashed any roms.
The att note 3 had a locked bootloader so there is no nougat for this phone.

Could you explain a little more please? I have Safestrap root with a custom rom on an ATT Note 3. Since I could care less for the ATT part could I install a custom rom that runs nougat if no one made one for the ATT version? I only use this on wifi and it's well out of warranty.
The phone can only flash ROMs that work with safestrap and there are no nougat roms that user safestrap.

Hi guys , I have been looking through xda and could not find a single discussion on basics of installing custom rom on android devices my very first question is
1.) I have a smasung galaxy note 3 n9005 currently running 5.0 lollipop version, I tries to install a marshmallow custom rom on this device but it fails and I have to again restore my back up so I want to ask whether it is compulsory to install a marshmallow kernel for a marshmallow rom or can a marshmallow rom install on lollipop kernel .

No clue about the kernels.
Where might I find a list of ROMS that can be loaded with Safestrap?
This is not the forum for the n9005. The sm-n9005 forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3
Installing a custom ROM on the AT&T note 3 on very different from the international note 3 as the AT&T note 3 has a locked bootloader.
Hello there everyone!!
We have two Nexus 6 in the house, both at the moment running the superb six rom, but my wife does not like nougat, and loves lollipop and marshmallow, I think you can just download a marshmallow ROM and flash.....is this true? And the same for lollipop? Or do you need to flash completely a new firmware image? Bootloader is unlocked
You can flash a MM ROM and MM Gapps.

That's what I do when I get tired of nougant, I just flash MM, vice versa.

What about Lollipop? The Nexus 6 originally came with Lollipop. Can I flash a Lollipop rom on my Shamu despite the fact that I have upgraded all the way up to 7.1.1 Nougat? Bootloader is unlocked.
Personally, I miss the days of KitKat OS on Android.

I'm pretty sure that you can flash any ROM as long as its for the nexus 6. My favorite ROM was KitKat and always will be my favorite! But yeah, if you are rooted flash away my friend, any ROM ya want. If you are on nougant you may wanna update you're radio and baseband to the newest version? If you are on nougant and wanna go back to lollipop you may wanna consult a pro, and ask if there is anything you need to flash besides a LL ROM just to be safe. I know I was on nougant and I updated my radio/base to the newest version, then I flashed a MM ROM and everything worked great. You may be good though, I would just ask a dev just to be sure. I have a little knowledge but I still consider myself a newbie because I don't know squat, lol. J/K I know a little.. Don't flash anything until you get a second opinion. I don't want you mad at me if ya break ya phone.

Don't attempt to downgrade the Nexus 6 bootloader though, that's a good way to brick the device.
Hi guys! Newbie here.
Just want to ask if it is possible to downgrade my tablet that is running on OS 7.0 to Stock rom or on atleast OS 6.0?
The OS 7.0 was updated using OTA and it really drains my battery just want to roll back again on the stock or on the previous version.
Please help.
Thank you so much
Yes -- but it's not for the faint of heart. You can download the stock ROMs (as well as a range of others) from this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/general/index-samsung-tab-s2-one-index-t3544310
To flash the stock ROM, you will need to run ODIN on your PC. I would suggest doing a Google search for ODIN and read the many articles on how to use it.
Hi all
I haven't been on the xda scene for a while and haven't bothered with mods for a few phones now, but my A2 is getting laggy with age and i want to keep this phone a bit longer.
Can someone please tell me if a custom kernel can be installed straight on a stock android 10 rom, without having to root and install custom roms.
Also will OTA will work with custom kernel (if possible)
I already have an unlocked bootloader.
Regards
