Hey, its me again,
Yesterday I removed some 4.4.2 rom from my HTC and now I cant get install any.
Informations from previous ROM:
HTC SDK API level: 6.20
PRL verison: 55015,
Software number: 5.11.661.8,
Kernel: 3.4.10-xiaoxiang8002-soul1.0, SMP PREEMPT,
Baseband version: 2.03.30.0109,
Build number:5.11.661.8 CL334166
Informations from Bootloader:
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-11111111
HBOOT-1.57.0000
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
OS-
and its GSM version.
I tried to flash (TWRP) some stock rooted 4.4.2 - after flash, only HTC logo appears a stuck in there.
ViperOne gives me status 7 error.
GPE stock and plus failed too.
I want some lollipop ROM, but can I flash lollipop ROMs without official update from kitkat to lollipop?
Do I need to update baseband or hboot etc. - and if so which versions?
Can i flash RUU exe lollipop file from official HTC website? (http://www.htc.com/cz/support/updates.aspx) I dont want to lose my sim unlock/s-off.
Please let give some overall informations, im really confused of all those articles and threads. I would even appreciate some stock ROM, the only thing i dont want to lose is S-OFF, because its sim unlocked.
Im desperate.
EDIT // OK. Its always like - im despereate, going here, creating a thread and then i suddenly work it out. :|
I managed to restore it using official RUU. I used Sprint version 6.23.651.10, works normally but at startup it is doing some Hansfree Activation without succes, telling me its not working on GSM, no big deal. And it keeps telling me some **** about improving my connection with location service.
Should I try AT&T version 7.23.502.9? And whats the difference betweeen 6.23.651.10 and 7.23.502.9?
Thanks.

M7wls in the bootloader = it's a CDMA (sprint) variant, not a GSM variant. You can only use roms compatible with this variant (version number x.xx.651.x), roms for the GSM variant (m7ul) won't work. 6.23.651.10 is the latest official version that will work on your phone.
You can bypass hands free activation by deleting the htcsetupwizard.apk file from your phone. It can be done from twrp recovery (make sure to flash the sprint version of twrp). Boot in twrp, mount /system. Use twrp's file manager and go to /system/app and delete the file. Unmount, wipe cache and dalvik and reboot.

Hello,
About a month back I destroyed my old HTC One. I unlocked the phone and flashed a new rom for the International version instead of the Sprint version. Ever since, no matter what rom I use, the phone is stuck in a boot loop. I cannot set it back to factory with the RUU because my version is more recent and I do not have S-OFF. I've since bought a new phone, but I'm looking to attempt to get the old one working. This has been a learning experience.

Hello I have a problem,
I have htc one m7 locked for sprint (hboot 1.57.000, android 4.4 ) I already root it then i tried to turn s-off with rumrunner it was not possible cuz my kernel was stock ( I think...) so i tried to install custom kernel (Bulletproof-m7wl-1.2.zip) i then i stuck in bootloop ( htc logo). Now I can enter in recovery (teamwin) but i don't know what to do next.

You bootlooped because you loaded an incompatible kernel. Use *only* m7spr/m7wls kernels.
With that said -- just download a ROM you want (again -- stock with M7SPR or M7WLS (they're the same thing, just different ROMs call them by various names -- not going to explain that here).
Then, load your recovery (hopefully my TWRP 2.8.0.3 because it will work for you); "adb push" the rom file to /sdcard (i.e.: adb push <path_to_the_zip>.zip /sdcard) -- yes, that will work in recoveries.
Then install the ROM in your recovery. You should be fine with the caveat that if the kernel you loaded messed up your partitions (by writing it to the entirely incorrect disk partition), you'll have to RUU back to stock.
Hey guys been going at this for about 14 hours
Story
flashed amazing android hd 3.1 thinking i had 5.1, when i realized that, i downloaded 5.1 and flashed it. Seemed to work except as soon as phone began to boot i got a pink screen followed by the htc and beats audio screen (logos were different colors) at this point it wouldn't do anything else.
I rebooted and went in recovery (twrp 2.6.3.0) and wiped cache, tried re flashing and same thing so i went in twrp (im a nweb haven't done this since i had my hero) formatted the data. Yes everything was gone no OS to boot from so i tried using sideloader but it wouldnt go past start up process i resorted to using adb, i pushed the amazing android 3.1 rom and flashed it. everything seemed to go fine. Seemed to boot, when i went to unlock the screen to set the phone up it just rebooted, it kept doing that over and over. Installed insert coin rom and did the same thing. idk what else to do :/ tried loading stock ruu but it gave me a fail message (cant remember what it was)
I never made any back ups as i didnt care about losing any data
Would appreciate some help guys
Im on mac and windows 7

thanks, im about to give it a shot
good morning lol
ok since im on s-on 4.06 do i skip this?
If you are S-OFF flash the 3.04 s-off firmware or 3.05 s-off firmware or 3.05.651.6 s-off firmware or 4.06.651.4 s-off firmware and you are done. If you are already on 4.06.651.4 you will have to flash the 3.05.651.6 s-off firmware first...reason being is the 4.06 s-off firmware does not have the latest radio included (use the same commands from 5.)
1.Download the 3.04 s-on firmware or 3.05 s-on firmware or 3.05.651.6 s-on firmware or 4.06.651.4 s-on firmware
2.Rename it firmware.zip (put the firmware.zip into the platform tools folder or the folder attached below)
3.Boot to bootloader
4.Lock bootloader(fastboot oem lock)
5.Then use these commands:
and go straight to this?
7.Then unlock the bootloader again and re-flash TWRP 2.6.3.0. (before formatting go to setting/screen and disable screen timeout)
8.Within TWRP 2.6.3.0 select Wipe > Format Data(it will ask you to confirm by typing YES) once done adb push a rom to your phone (adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard/ ).
8a. If you are using the 4.06.651.4 s-on firmware I would suggest you push this Stock Rooted Odexed Rom to your device or it may not boot.
8b. After flashing the 4.06.651.4 rom you will most likely need to flash the latest radio because the 4.06 firmware does not have a radio included find it HERE
9.Optional but recommended: S-OFF using Rumrunner or Firewater
10.Win lol
:') thank you so much

Check the threads and make sure there are no issues for folks on the latest OTA
Hello,
I have just been given a rooted HTC M7 (AT&T). It hasn't been used for almost a year, but it seems to work. It only has a recovery on it, not a ROM. I have no idea how to get it from where it is up to the latest and greatest. Any help or recommendations would be appreciated. I tried to read up on everything, but i couldn't parse out the info I needed from existing threads. I hope my terminology is correct!
Here's what I've got:
Device: AT&T HTC One M7
BOOTLOADER Info:

RECOVERY Info:
TWRP 2.8.1.0
ROM INFO:
I have not loaded a rom onto the device at this point. I haven't felt comfortable since I don't know if the phone in its current state will run the latest roms.
Here's what I need to know.
1. Do I need to update my bootloader? It seems like 1.44 is much older than what other people are currently using. I've seen most people on 1.57 or 1.56. If I do need to update it, what version should I update to?
2. My recovery seems to be almost up to date. I am pretty sure i know how to get the .zip for the latest version, but I don't know if I have to flash it or use another way to install it.
3. I cannot get fastboot working on my windows 8.1 machine. It does work on an old windows 7 laptop I have. It seems like others have this issue on hboot 1.44. Is there any fix for it?
4. Firmware, Kernals, and Radios. How do you know what firmware, kernel, and radio to use for a given device? does it depend on the rom you choose? There seems to be so many and it isn't clear to me.
5. Does it matter if i choose a GPE rom, a Cyanogen Rom, or a Sense Rom? Do kernels, firmwares, and radios depend on the type of rom I choose?
Thanks for all your help! I look forward to using my new to me device.

you have an AT&T Phone with s-off. Start updating with this RUU from windows 7
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...13_10.38j.1157.04_release_334235_signed_2.exe
After this RUU windows 8 will see your phone again
Then this Firmware > http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00101/a1w/4.18.502.7 Custom Firmware.zip
followed by this RUU >> http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2.exe
To flash the Firmware use
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
when your done check for software updates in settings before you flash a custom recovery and root.
you should get the 5.x.502 OTA update
Amazing. Thank you so much.

because a lot of people have problem flashing the 4.x RUU alone, they get a error 155 .. flashing the firmware first solves this problem
And the 3.x Full RUU insures he does not get any problem upgrading from hboot 1.44
so he in fact went the same route AT&T released the updates

How come Android Revolution ROMs keep putting my phone into a bootloop? It makes my phone boot into TWRP Recovery. I have tried both Android Revolution HD 90.1 ( (Android 5.0.2 Lollipop + HTC Sense 6.0) and the stock HTC system dump (Android 5.0.2 + HTC Sense 6.0 | Latest: 7.15.401.1) without success. I just want to know why!
If you flash in twrp you need to flash the boot.img in fastboot in order to boot because your s-on. And also what you are running I believe are gsm based roms. In which case they will never boot.

ARHD is not compatible with Sprint.
By flashing it your partitions are messed up now.
You will need to RUU to fix and stay in the Sprint section when choosing a rom.

Yep says it several times in the OP.
I can't seem to get any other ROM to boot except CyanogenMod and LiquidSmooth. CM is completely stable while the latest version of LS is a bit buggy. They both absolutely refuse to acceept any APN settings. I am using Ting's service right now and I can't use it on these ROMs.... I tried flashing several stock Sprint ROMs for the HTC Onr M7 and none of them will boot. They'll boot if I flash the boot.img like someone here suggested but it doesn't help. It will go to the desktop, however, the screen is completely black. Is there anyway to flash a stock ROM properly? RUU's don't work either.

My HTC One is CDMA (Sprint).
First try updating by going to Settings ---> About ---> Software Updates. If that doesn't work try the following:
This Lollipop update process is ONLY for the Sprint HTC One M7.
First flash the firmware via Fastboot: 6.16.651.2_firmware.zip >>> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934523626
And then install the RUU for 6.16.651.2 via Bootloader RUU Menu:
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_..._NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_414036_signed_2.exe
If you don't know how to do these things, then you shouldn't attempt to. You could end up hard-bricking your phone.

Hello again,
I have some experience using fastboot. The thing is that my HTC M7 originally was Sprint CDMA but the person I bought it from he assured me that he unlocked the GSM.

I guess my HTC M7 is similiar to yours, but I want to be sure before flashing it. I have a backup already just in case.
Thanks a lot.
Your phone is for sprint as it says m7wls you can use gsm service perhaps since you say its unlocked meaning Sim unlock always look for Roms that are m7spr or M7wls based I also suggest s-off so you don't have any complications with flashing

Awesome! I'll make sure to re-read the roms/RUU's specifications prior to install any.
Thanks a lot guys.

It has been a little bit difficult to S-off my HTC, since it has Hboot 1.57. So far I've tried Revone and Rum Runner without success.
Firewater seems to be down and I'm tempted to pay for SunShine, but I'm not really sure about paying for an application that might not work.
My HTC originally came with Android 4.4.2 and I got a notification to upgrade to lollipop via OTA, but I was suggested to make a backup just in case. So I had to root my phone, unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP in order to get my system backup, but due to the previous procedures I can no longer upgrade to lollipop.
Right now all I want is to follow my original plan by installing a stock rom and try to update to lollipop via OTA.
You kindly suggested me to s-off my cellphone, but I've seen some videos on youtube in which they install stock roms with s-on:

If Sunshine won't work you won't have to pay.

Do you mean flashing firmware.zip with these commands?:
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Fastboot reboot-bootloader

I'm counfused, I thought that both (firmware and RUU.zip), should be flashed via fastboot. Am I missing something?
Thank you in advance.
Never mind guys
Finally I upgraded my HTC to Lollipop.
I freaked out because it didn't boot up after flashing RUU.zip
I decided to go out for dinner and come back and try as many times as needed. Fortunately I realized that I misspelled the command fastboot reboot-bootloader I had forgotten to type the hyphen. Then I reinstalled the drivers, rebooted my pc, tried another usb port and used the RUU.exe. Now my HTC M7 seems to be working perfectly
Thank you very much guys.
I have been running an InsertCoin ROM for about a year now, and it is driving me insane. I rooted this phone and put this ROM on as soon as I got it, and now that I come back to XDA for an update, everything is changed and I am a bit confused.
When I go onto Venom ROM website, it says I need to update firmware to HTC 5.0.2. However, I can't tell which firmware I am even on, and I feel like a complete dumb ass. Here is relevant info for my phone, I want to update to a new rom and TMo's latest radio. If someone can real quick throw me some bulletpoints, i'll figure out the rest. THANK YOU!

for what its worth, i get that red warning on boot splash saying that this build is for development purposes. I think what I need to do, is first flash the latest stock tmobile rom, and then flash venom rom over it.. does this sound right?

In most cases, flashing the new radio does not particularly make a difference. Most roms will flash even on older radios. BUt, it is recommended to flash the newest firmware.
Your firmware is the oldest one for the M7. It is the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware. The HBOOT version gives away the firmware version FYI. You have the option of updating the TMobile radio version, or since you're S-OFF, flashing the latest 5.0.2 international firmware. The TMobile firmware is slightly older as i can't find the latest one, but it should work. Link is :

Thank you for the help!!!
So I just need to flash this RUU and then I can install ViperROM? Sounds easy enough
I guess since this is going to delete everything, i'll start the picture backup now...
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
I forgot to add, I think i need their latest radio or something, because my phone is unable to connect with TMobiles new 4g range booster. Hopefully this fixes that probelm, as well as the battery life issue that cropped up
