Hi everyone! I have a N4 and installed a AEX rom with SINAI kernel firstly. He works great, but some colors was inverted(like orange, red...) So, i asked on forum rom and i knew what it does not support this kernel, and install the kernel on the zip's rom. I do it, his works, but on beauty time he turn off! After i try turn on, he spawn google(with bootloader unlock on down) but don't pass of this. I've installed two times stock roms, but he freeze on boot screen.
Maybe my N4 be bricked, however i can access bootloader and run fastboot commands.
Please, Help me!
Thx!
Download stock lollipop img from google. Flash that using fastboot, the instructions are there in the site itself. Mako is code for nexus 4. After lollipop boots up, u can flash twrp and then flash other roms.

Hi, I´m really hoping some kind soul will help me out
I have unlocked the tf701t with asus unlock tool. When I boot with "adb reboot bootloader" and choose RCK I first get a normal android avatar but then the android is lying down with a red triangle and nothing happens.
All tutorials I have found is based on flashing root/recovery through fastboot. But I cant get fastboot to work, or boot to the recovery.
I have rooted and flashed CM on like 10 different phones so I´m not a complete noob but for some reason I cant seem to find what I am doing wrong with the tf701t.
I am on 1WW_epad-10.26.1.18-20131217
Or is the screen with "RCK", Android and "Wipe Data" the fastboot screen?
Really hope You guys can help me out,
You need to update your bootloader with the official ASUS update first. Then you can continue. The CW recovery and the custom roms only work on the most update bootloader (which I think is .28 I cant check right now)
The screen that you are on after adb reboot bootloader is fast boot. selecting RCK is recovery. As you have the official recovery that's all there is is the lying android.

Boot loader is the part where RCK, Android,WipeData buttons are. Pressing RCK will take u to the recovery. The android lying with red triangle is the stock Asus recovery. If u r trying to install custom ROM, u must first get a custom recovery, so far only CWM recovery works. Then u can install the ROM zip file through the CWM recovery easily. But before getting CWM 4.7, make sure ur on the latest firmware. 10.26.1.18 I believe it is.

THANKS guys, it was exactly like you said.
I was an a firmwire with the nr: 10.26.1.18 but not the latest "10.26.1.18".
So after updating with Asus firmwire fastboot was working for me and everything went smoothly.
Superhighly appreciated that you took the time to help me out, you guys just made my day
Hi guys, my friend just bricked his LG Optimus black, by trying to reach recovery mode through Rom manager...
When booting, the security error screen flashes and it turns back off.
I've tried to reach recovery/download mode, by trying several button combinations found on the internet, but none of them seems to work, I get the same security error screen (even when the phone is connected to PC).
Can you guys please help, I have zero experience with this phone
Your friend's phone shows security error because he flashed recovery while he was running a v30x stock rom.
With the update to official ICS, the bootloader changed and if you want to keep stock ICS with recovery you need to flash an unlocked bootloader following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160394.
You could also try using SmartFlash Tool to flash this ROM that already includes a recovery, but, if you flash it, you'll have a gingerbread ROM with an old bootloader and a recovery that can be used to flash CyanogenMod based ROMs.

Thanks, I finally managed to access Download mode and flash stock firmware, and I also flashed the unlocked bootloader, using the exe file...
But I still have a problem...
I still can't access CWM. When pressing the combination in the post you linked, it just shows me a screen, writing recovery mode, and it does nothing.
Didn't the exe file install CWM?
Is it safe to install it with Smart Flash Tool now?
Can you boot to stock ROM? If yes, is his phone rooted?

I can boot to stock ROM, and yeah I rooted it with Unlock Root after installing the unlocked bootloader.
Download terminal emulator from play store, download recovery.img from here and place it in the root of his sdcard.
Open terminal emulator, type su, press enter, type dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 and you should have finished! :highfive:
Hello everybody,
I rooted my Xperia Z1 about 8 months ago in order to install the 5.1.1 update which didn't roll out for my device probably because it was a global version (5.0.1 was the last OTA). I did a clean install with no problems, flashed DualRecovery, SuperSu, and BusyBox was working just fine. Everything was working perfectly.
About 3 months ago, I tried updating BusyBox, only to tell that the update failed (couldn't install in the path it used to be try changing the path), I read and read, and found that the solution was to delete a certain file from root that prevented me from modifying certain folders and their content(even with root access), and then do a clean install in a different path than the former one. However, I couldn't gain root access to my files, no root explorer worked! It bugged me, but I was busy at that time, so I couldn't resolve it.
Few weeks later I tried rebooting into recovery, but no method worked, no apps, no key combination, no adb, nothing at all worked! After 2 hard days I managed to install TWRP recovery using NUTS recovery project. I rebooted several times, and it was still working. I then installed BusyBox with no problems, and everything was back to perfect. Later I decided to install CM 12.1 because I always used on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I always loved it. So using my now working recovery, I backed everything up on a USB and then flashed CM 12.1 WITHOUT its recovery along with a GAPPS package.
CM was installed, which then rebooted into its recovery and tried to install the GAPPS package. The GAPPS installation was a fail. CM recovery asked me to try using TWRP to do such installation ( go figure! ); in fact, CM recovery couldn't flash anything besides another CM 12.1 update. After this point I wasn't able in any possible way to enter TWRP nor install it. Even if I want to flash using fastboot I couln't! adb reads my device just fine, and can use it to reboot into flashmode, which doesn't seem to be functioning properly. The blue light turns on but there isn't a thing on the screen, fastboot can't recognize is it and hence I can't flash anything using fastboot.
Should I reflash partitions if this could be done on Z1? ( I did it before on my Nexus ) Can I use Odin? I even doubt I can enter download mode on my phone
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
No?
Ok!
Is your bootloader unlocked? To run cm on our z1 you need an unlocked bootloader because cm needs a custom kernel.
You can try Sony companion app or androxydes flashtool in combination with a pre-rooted ftf to reach stock again.
The thing is even Sony flashtool (Emma) is not reading my phone, it detects a device in the USB port, but not the device!
I managed to install TWRP using TWRP Manager app that I downloaded from APKmirror website. I installed GApps and it is working fine right now.
TWRP Manager said that I should have a FOTA recovery or something like that, and if I don't have one then I am installing the recovery on my responsibility.
Still no bootloader or flash mode. Neither Emma nor Odin are identifying the phone. Although my phone lights blue, but the screen shows nothing!

AFAIK, Emma hasn't been updated for a LONG time. It will remain defunct with no updates and no support. Use flashtool from androxyde if you want to continue using Sony's stock ROM.
No bootloader or flash mode detection: That usually means the drivers that interfaces with your phone is missing. Search around XDA for the correct fastboot and adb drivers for your PC's OS.
My approach for fixing your issue: Find the right drivers and put a stable Lollipop ROM on your sdcard. If you have fastboot working (make sure you have unlocked bootloader), flash boot image from the Lollipop zip and flash the recovery image found in some Lollipop threads. If everything goes well, your phone will bootloop, but you'll have working recovery. Press Vol Down when the Sony Logo appears on screen to enter TWRP. Since you saved a backup of your phone elsewhere, erase all the partitions (minus sdcard), format them to ext4, and flash the Lollipop ROM from your sdcard.
hi, ive tried everything just to get my awful z1 C6903 to boot the marshmallow version of resurrection remix, the lollipop version has graphical glitches, most people got it booting but no one will reply in that thread to me on how to get it working, no instructions either in the thread...
i HAVE searched xda but only found mixed answers
google is a absolute joke for researching anything root related...
i dont know the button combo to boot into recovery from power off
if i try "adb reboot recovery" in stock rom, it just reboots normally
ive tried "fastboot flash boot twrp.img" but bootloops after flashing rom, its the only way to get in recovery btw
"fastboot flash boot boot.img(from the rom.zip) bootloop on sony logo
"fastboot flash kernel boot.img" same as above
"fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" does nothing and the phone will not boot into recovery
i dont think there is a recovery partition but guides always refer to a sony tool that doesnt exist
bootloader is unlocked
what the H am i doing wrong, im fresh outta ideas....
do i need to do a different command, do i need a kernel?...
i would even donate to whoever can help get it booting or to refer to any other lp or mm stable rom
never had a problem with samsung/htc/nexus with this sort of thing, if it still dont work, ima throw the z1 away...

If you've read some of the threads here, you would have already figured out your problem. Evidently you haven't.
You need to have flashed the latest .236 ftf at least once. Once you do it, you will get the new bootloader that can boot 3.10 kernels (MM) and also the TA update that enables the recovery partition. This should be done with Androxyde's Flashtool (can be found in Xperia Z1 General subforum). Once you've done that, you can use "fastboot flash recovery" to flash the latest TWRP 3.0.0-0. Using that, you should be able to flash and boot any MM ROM. Be warned, though, MM still does not have a stable camera. The best you can get is from the AICP MM ROM, which is the only ROM atm to use the latest Sony MM blobs.
If, by graphical issues, you are referring to purple artifacts on the screen in random places (does not appear on Screenshots), then it is because you have used an aftermarket screen. I have the same issue too, and it is not present in MM and stock ROMs. If you are hellbent on using a stable AOSP based LP ROM, I would suggest you mess with the screen color settings in Kernel Adiutor. Keep Red at around 212, Blue and Green at around 208. +-5 values. Experiment, and see which value fixes the issue.
EDIT: To boot into recovery, turn the phone off and press power+vol down till you feel the vibration. Then release both. You should boot into recovery. This works only after you have the TA Update.
Well, I was poking around where I shouldn't have been and I think I flashed the wrong kernal to my phone. It's just getting a blank screen but I can get into fastboot mode to flash things. I had unlocked the bootloader before I soft bricked it but I flashed a newer version of TWRP and can't get it to open to that so either there's a TWRP issue or the bootloader isn't unlocked. When I attempted to unlock it again it did say "already rooted".
I'm on Linux and can't seem to get Flashtool working in either mode so that's not going to fix me. Is there a way to flash an entire rom via fastboot? I know I would need an ISO versus a ZIP file right?
Anyway, please help, this sucks and I'm at the end of my rope trying new things and don't want to make this any worse.
Anything, just point me in the right direction, I need this thing working ASAP.
Don't worry
There is no problem!
I had the same problem because i try to flash on a locked bootloader. But it is easy to unlock and to flash whatever you want.
But for you, you can flash the right version of recovry and then you can install a rom.
If you just want your smartphone to work, you can flash an official rom (with flashtool). (only official rom can be entirely flash with flashtool).
I hope you understand me
Maybe you can try @munjeni's xflasher:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/dev-xflasher-command-line-flasher-t2986634
Please read OP carefully - its an very powerfull flasher....
OR
Just flash an Kernel (via fastboot) with integrated TWRP - I would recomend Adv Stock for your purpose.
Adv. Stock Kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/kernel-advanced-stock-kernel-t3346328
or
EliteKernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/kernel-elitekernel-v1-t3427549
After that flash any ZIP you like...
