Its been a long time since LineageOS came to Redmi 2. I was always excited about this from the beginning but unfortunately, I could not enjoy LineageOS because of its insane heating issues. This has been a major pain for many users. There are always custom kernels but I personally would not like to trade the stability of the stock kernel for the performance of a custom kernel. After months of searching and wondering (mostly wondering), I successfully found a solution.
STEP 1: Root your device using any preferred method.
STEP 2: Download the attached zip and extract it. There will be a file named ims_rtp_daemon (without any extension).
STEP 3: Go to system/bin from any root explorer. There will be a file named ims_rtp_daemon. Delete that file.
STEP 4: Paste the downloaded in ims_rtp_daemon system/bin.
STEP 5: Set the permissions to rw-rw-r--
STEP 6: Reboot and profit!
I personally clean flashed the ROM and replaced the file from TWRP itself. There, permission correction is not necessary. So if the above method fails, just give this a try.
Thanks to @resurrectedphoenix for telling me what was wrong and thanks again to @nicknitewolf for the awesome LineageOS!

ims_rtp_daemon file is for VoLTE VIDEO calls, replacing it wont brake anything since video calls don't work anyways

Press and hold to select the file after pasting it in system/bin. Then press the three dots in upper right corner to bring up the menu. From there choose Properties. A window will pop up there you will be able to see permissions. Change it to rw-rw-r-- and reboot. Otherwise you can paste the file directly from TWRP where you don't need to set permissions.
Thank-you captain

if you have an android commander try that
Not working here either, any chance we can get this as a normal, separate Live Wallpaper install? I really, really want this LW.
Try using the app "SUFBS" (not in market). found here:
http://www.filestube.com/876LO4iPjD1uUTmfm2cLAW/Android-Application-and-Tools-sufbs-v3-42.html
before you start copying and pasting, make sure you hit the little "S" on the top right corner to activate read-write, and turn if off when done.
hope it works.
everything worked just like said on first post, too bad it doesn't have the touch reaction like the old one did when you touched the screen.

First Thanks that was quick! Second if I read correctly, I should just be able to install and reboot correct? then goes back to the battery or do I over write?
Just copy the file to your sd card, then move it to your /system/app folder. Once it is there, check the permissions by long tapping and going to permissions. The permissions for this file should be :
Owner - rw
Group - r
Others - r
I am pretty sure this should do it, obviously reboot after all of this, not sure if you need to wipe anything, but I don't see why you would.
PS I am using root browser, so depending on your file manager, adjust accordingly
Im sorry I need the default framework-res.apk also

IT worked but I had to fix the checksum on the file I replaced, but thanks to all.
Good stuff, I'm glad it worked
PROBLEM:Hi all,
I have had a problem with my Baseband version (XXXX) for a couple of months now.
I have posted a thread before about the same problem.
I thought I found the solution by flashing the stock ROM for my S3 mini, but there's still something that's not working.
So the problem is:
I can make Calls and send text messages on stock ROM ONLY. My mobile data is not working..
It also says: Baseband: XXXX
When I install a custom ROM (doesn't matter which one), I will not be able to make calls, send text message or use mobile data anymore. When I try to make a call it says: No Signal.
To make clear what I just said:
Stock ROM:
Calls & SMS: Working
Mobile Data: Not working
Any custom ROM:
Calls & SMS: Not working
Mobile Data: Not working
I don't know why Calls and SMS are only working on Stock ROM. (Baseband: XXXX).
I'm currently having stock rom, otherwise my phone is kind of useless.
How did this happen to me:
I have had this problem since I wiped everything in 'Mounts and Storage' in Clockworkmod Recovery.
I know this was really a stupid action.
But this can't be undone, so that's why I'm asking for help here.
I would really like to have mobile data back at first.
And it would also be nice if I can install custom ROMS again. (I don't like the laggy Stock ROM...)
Thanks for help in advance!

EDIT:
SOLUTION:
This worked for me, hopefully it will work for you as well!
1) Root your S3 Mini. (If you hadn't rooted it already)
Download a pre-rooted stock rom from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122548
2) Download from the attached files ''Root Explorer v.3.1.4.apk'' and install it.
3) Download ''modemfs.tar'' from attached files below.
4) Extract the file, then copy the extracted file to your device. (Put it on internal or external storage, it doesn't matter).
5) Open Root Explorer, go to the ''modemfs'' file you have just put on your device.
6) Copy the ''modemfs'' folder and go to your root tab. Find the old ''modemfs'' folder and click on ''paste''.
If it promps to merge, click yes.
7) Now reboot device and your baseband should work properly.

Hi leather.face,
Thanks for your reply.
I downloaded the file and tried to paste it, but it didnt work: Permission denied.
Do I need to root my phone first?
I don't have the folders PERM and PROT, should I create them?
Do I have to flash nv.dat? Or copy and paste?
What should I exactly do?
I have a GT-I8190 device.

Hi ... Ahhh okay you have not a pre-rooted stock rom on your device?! Okay ... You must flash a pre-rooted stock rom on your device and then ... You can extracted the NV.rar under this thread ... And you have flash before a rooted stock rom ... You have then also the right root permissions for the NV.DAT from the NV.rar ... Sorry for my english but I hope you understand what I mean?!

OK thanks,
I will try to find a pre-rooted stock ROM.
I found a list with pre-rooted stock ROMS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122548
I'm currently downloading I8190XXAMG4 4.1.2 (OXX multi-csc, PDA: I8190XXAMG4, CSC: I8190OXXAMH1) (thanks to tys0n) (This one had the same CSC).
I don't really know what I'm doing now exactly.
Once the download has finished I will flash the pre-rooted stock ROM.
I will install ES file explorer and hopefully I can give it root acces.
Then I will try to paste 'NV.dat' file into /modemfs/PERM/PROT
When I go into the folder modemfs, I dont see the folders 'PERM' and 'PROT', will that be a problem?
Do I have to create these folders?
Please help, I'm desperate..
By the way, I fully understood what you said, don't feel sorry for your English.
I'm glad someone is trying to help me.
If anyone else has other solutions, feel free to post!

Hi ... Your list with pre-rooted stock roms is okay ... I'm using the same page! I search the /modemfs/PERM/PROT folder on my nfc device with the root explorer and in this folder is the NV.DAT file ... But I have two more files in the /PERM/PROT folder and I'm not sure if you need the third files in the /PERM/PROT folder ... I still have the LABEP.CFG and the PPVALUES.DAT file in the /PERM/PROT folder!
Please make this:
1/ flash your pre-rooted stock rom via Odin and then,
2/ install a root file manager, no matter what, then
3/ search the /modemfs/PERM/PROT/ folder and you should not find this folder on your device then create manually the

Code:

6/ the NV.DAT file in the PROT folder have this permissions:

2/ I create a new folder and then,
3/ I press and hold on the folder ... I mean the new created folder and then,

Hi,
I didn´t expect you would reply after you said you would sleep, so I´m sorry for responding lately.
Yes, I also see the other files, so I´m not missing files in these folders I think.
I think I´m missing files in other folders.
It seems that stock rom has... I don´t know how to explain... It has a file for ´signal for calls and sms´ integrated.
It is something that custom roms don´t have from itself.
I´m trying to find out what files I´m missing, actually I´m not even sure if that´s the problem.
Before I wiped everything at mounts and storage I never had this problem.
So that´s why I now think it´s a file that´s missing.
If you or someone else have other ideas, please tell me!
Thanks in advance!

Hey,
I created an archive of my modemfs folder, copy this onto your device and extract on root level. It will overwrite your current modemfs folder with the one from the archive. No mobile data issues for me at all - I am using CM 10.2 on I8190 S3 Mini.
Do it with the "Terminal Emulator" app:
- Grant root perms by issuing: "su"
- Go to root folder level: "cd /"
- Enter the following command: "tar -xzvf /path/to/archive/modemfs.tar.gz" Obviously, this "/path/to/archive" has to be replaced with the actual location where you have placed the archive.
Good luck! :fingers-crossed:

I will try now, thanks.
I'll come with an edit when tested.
Question: Where should I put modemfs.tar.gz on my device?
And.. How will terminal emulator find that file?
Wouldn't it be easier to copy and replace using root explorer?

Whatever works out best for you, mate. You can put the file on the sdcard anywhere, just make sure that you go to root level before extracting the archive as otherwise it will just create this folder within the folder you are currently in.
Edit: You could of course also extract this folder anywhere and afterwards copy it as root user over to "/" - it really does not make any big difference...

Thank you so much for you help mate!
Now the problem has been fully solved!
I was just missing some files, that's it.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello ladies and gents. As you may have been able to tell from the title, I made a huge mistake when playing around with my phone's build.prop file. I had tapped on the ro.build.description file and it pulled up the keyboard. I accidentally input an "r", so I deleted it, then saved and left the prop file, thinking everything was fine and proper. Unfortunately, that was not so. Upon my next reboot, I discovered several problems. The Playstore and gallery crash upon every open, and even worse, my internal memory isn't being recognized. I know the problems must be originating from the build description prop file, since that was the only prop file change that had happened since my last reboot. If anyone could give any tips on how to fix this or mount the external sd as internal, that would be wonderful. I need to be able to screnshot, install apps, and perform other functions that require internal storage. Please help me out ASAP.

extract the build.prop file from your rom.zip
make a flashable zip & flash it. will work normal again
(ifm u dont know how to make flashable zip, just get any flashable mod,
extract all files, delete all files , only leave the meta-inf folder with its data inside untouched & a folder called "system",
put build.prop into system folder, now mark both folders --> right click --> send to zip, put on sd & flash)
good luck!

Alright then. I have 2 questions though. Does the flash mod I use have to be specifically for my phone's model? And what do you mean by marking the folders?

I'm really sorry, but I don't know what you mean by my Rom. Generally, I'm pretty knowledgeable about my Android, but I've only been rooted for about a week. If by rom you mean like ClockworkMod or something, I'm just on my stock rom. If you mean something else, I don't know. And which slot in Odin would put this in? I only have experience with .tar and .md5.

sorry my llate reply, lets go
he bro u know whats the rom ) you say you are on stock rom, thats all i need.
clockwork mod is no rom, its a recovery.
sorry was a small hazzle for me as you use the AT&T version of the phone, now to the solution:
we need to just replace the damaged build prop with original one.
1. download the system image here: http://www.mrcrab.net/viewstockrom/19845-sm-g730a.html (or anywhere if u find, maybe at SAMMOBILE)
2. (try) to extract the parts of it, we need the system image. if u dont know how just google it, maybe some tools needed for diffrent kind of datas. once all extracted the build.prop is inside system (-folder). copy it to SD & replace via any ROOT explorer, set the right permissions, like in this pic LINK, reboot done.
if you CANT extract that image, make you ready for completly new install of your ROM.

I can do that, but I have a problem. I can't download the file from the link you provided. Could you find me a different place to download the image from, or maybe even give me a direct download link? Thanks.

i use slimkat 4.4.4 by android-andi on SGS3 Mini (i8190n).
1. using root explorer, changing perm on the first / (the root dir, i believe).
2. this one is new problem, nothing to do with our recent dialogs, hope can get some idea on this one.
yesterday, i install android tweaker app, and set the auto system/device tweak( can't remember exact) and reboot my device
to apply the setting. and got stuck on boot animation (blinking 'SAMSUNG' anim, after the 'GT I8190N' image on ori ROM). it
didn't loop (no bootloop), just stuck on blinking animation, boot image i guest?
Any idea just throw in please, really want to try and confirm on any solution we got in mind.
thanks in advance everyone.

OP is for 551 version, are you sure you don't mean 550?
EDIT: Never mind, I looked through the files and saw they were 1080p versus OP's 820*520 pixels. Thanks.

Is it just me or is it pretty slow? Maybe the phone can't keep up with 1080 at boot?
Thanks for giving me credit! I appreciate it! I'm Dustin.

fall in love with this new boot animation
Hy guys!
I'm currently using a Nexus 5 and i really love the Nexus Root Toolkit ( NRT). It's a software that allows you to flash an image, root, etc, with just a few clicks.
Is there anything like this available for the Asus Zenfone 2?
Thanks!
