I'm kind of surprised with some of the negative G Flex reviews and how some people don't even give the phone a chance. Is Samsung paying them? lol The curved design is not a gimmick. It's pretty damn impressive. IMO The phone just feels right in my hands/face and fits better in my pocket. I was impressed with how LG fit a 3000mAh battery in the compact size of the G2 which is what I had before the Flex. Now after using the Flex for a week LG has impressed me even more with battery life. I know the Flex has a bigger battery by 500mAh compared to the G2 but seems to last twice as long as the G2. Why is that? Probably because of the 720p display right? If so I might be the only one but I think LG was smart doing that. I got annoyed at times having to charge my G2 during the day. I just charge my Flex when I sleep. I think the 720p display is sharp and I have no ghosting. As you can tell I'm very happy with the Flex even coming from a G2.
I ignored all the bad reviews concerning the screen display and I'm happy with my flex coming from a N3... Battery life is superior and I'm only on my 2nd week with this phone.

I'm coming from a note 3 and the flex is a beast.....
Sent from my Enormous G Flex.
I'll say this I ran Antu on my buddies Flex and my Note III and the Flex won every time. That is even after over clocking my Note III, fresh restarts on both, I tried everything to beat it but never came out on top.

No ghosting? Either your eyes are not good or you got lucky. Seen 4 and all have ghosting. Think its normal.
I think this phone is pretty great.

I must of got lucky. I got mine in Columbus Ohio at a tmobile store and no ghosting issue for me. I do have a grainy appearance to the screen. But turn brightness up and your good if it bothers you. I doesn't for me. I tell you this coming from the note 2 to gs4 the screen was the difference maker for me. But took the hit in battery life never again not worth it if you ask me. I rather have a good to mediocre screen. ( which the flex doesn't have a crappy screen at all just a different technology). And just because everybody's using one type of screen doesn't make it a better just differently.
I personally got tired of Samsung and touchwiz. So I switch will I have the flex for ever? No I won't I will jump in six to eight months from now and into something else that give excellent battery life with killer specs. I don't regret getting the flex we already know what coming down the pipeline anyways. Oh wait let me guess.... HTC flagship, Samsung flagship, LG flagship, new nexus and also ios. It never changes people the flex got me because it's different and I personally didn't want to have compositive keys or hardware buttons such as home and back. Grow tired on rooted to gain this feature. That left me 4 choices nexus, Sony, and lg g2 or the lg g flex I went with the flex because it was the newest device that they had available and don't regret it. Yeah the note 3 is a nice device but my last 3 phones were all Samsung and like I mentioned before I grow tired and was wanting other features that Samsung couldn't offer. Just my 2 cents.

no ghosting for me either, and with the brightness turned up to 60%-70%, completely grainy free..
I had the same issue with the stupid reviewers on my htc one max; that too was a great phone, but, every doosh bag reviewer found something bad to say about it. Fortunately, I have my own brain, and dont give a rats arse what any "reviewer" has to say about any electronic item I buy.
Sprint network still sucks, and because of that, I had to sell my one max, and our 2 htc one's. We all changed to T-Mobile, and are thrilled with the network coverage and speed outside of Chicago now!
4 Samsung phones in a row was enough for me, and especially with the Knox security Krap they are forcing on every one now..Lg phones are really nice, and my wife and son really like their G2's. We'll see whats out there 6 months from now, but if dev picks up for the flex, I doubt I will want to get rid of it for longer than that; the best battery I have ever seen in a phone. Now, if they would just come up with stereo front facing speakers for this beast!!
Crazy I'm in Columbus, Ohio but I got my Flex online from T-Mobile. Maybe if people don't put a magnifying glass over the phone they might enjoy it. LoL. My only issue if you call it a issue is that I want to carry the Flex naked but it's not easy to do plus risky business.

I just got the Flex, my reason was the negative reviews. I have a Note 3, while I'm not convinced yet that it's better. I'm open to giving it a chance. I like my stylus. Lol.

I've only read one review that gave it a thumbs up. It was a woman who reviewed it after having it for a week or so. She gave it 8/10 and I tip my hat off to her. She has small hands and looked past the size of the phone, and just reviewed it straight up.
I don't like reviewers who say the phone is comically large, and the curve of the device is a novelty. That's an opinion. Although reviews should have your opinion, it shouldn't blind you from fact. What's large for you isn't large for me. What fits in your purse, fits in my pocket. Blah blah blah. Anyway I like the Flex, not for what it is, but I like it because its just a better device than its competitors.

Screen has some issues but the only thing I hate about the phone is 4.2 and the locked boot loader preventing me from getting kitkat. Btw the LG keyboard auto corrected kitkat to diktat. Lol this phone needs to be loved by all its owners ?

I'm happy with the G Flex. I was going to get the nexus 5, but the battery inside of the G Flex was appealing. The only downside I see about this beast of a phone is that there isn't expandable storage and that it's running 4.2. I do notice some of the screen issues, but I can live with it. I can't wait for development for this phone to really start.
KitKat should be coming out soon. Maybe some of the developers are just waiting on that. I love my Flex and that's all that matters to me. LoL

It's a great phone! I miss it sometimes and wish I could carry 2 phones so I could use the N3 as my daily driver and the Flex as my multimedia toy. Can't wait for the Flex 2 to eventually come out with some good upgrades so I can make the switch back.

Good luck finding a phone with the same size screen, insane battery life, knock to wake (yeah I am addicted) and durability and then there is the curve... There is none unfortunately. My wife has a G3 and honestly her screen looks washed out despite the higher resolution.. the Flex has such beautiful colors.
In a way I am upset I got the Flex because I have zero options for upgrade
I am keeping my Flex for awhile seems like haha

Nexus 6 does all of that execept the curve.. I have yet to see a Flex 2 in person so I will prob not do it. I cant believe they made the screen smaller.. So stupid. If it was the same size I would def get it. Disappointed.

The Nexus 6 does not do all of that out of the box. You will need modified kernel to have knock to wake and I don't know how good will it be. You have to modify the LED to get it to work. The screen has a weird tint to it and it's so dim I couldn't believe it when I played with it and it has sound issues. The battery life I won't even mention because there is no way it's even close to the Flex which will often last me up to 2 days. I agree the Flex 2 is a huge letdown with the smaller screen but it's due to tech limitations so whatever. Hopefully Sony makes another 6 incher soon.
Finally saw the nexus 6 and flex 2 in person. FLEX 2 is way to small.. And the nexus 6 is awesome.. All of the stuff it doesn't have can be fixed. Not mention the updates and the development for it is sweet..
Made the switch to the Nexus 6. If anyone is on the fence I can tell you that this phone is awesome. I loved my Flex but this phone is just sweet.. When i flashed my first rom the other day a feeling of joy came over me like a warm blanket..
Well I've sold my nexus 6 and bought a flex the nexus had too many issues with sound and screen going funny, tried every custom Rom going but no better in afraid, now I have the flex I'm so happy with it.

this is my first LG phone, my friend tells me that the upgrade from G3 to G4 isn't worth the change. The battery life on this phone goes way to fast considering the large battery. I mean i use my phone on the train to work and i lose 30% of my battery in my 15 min ride, from what i read, they say its because of the processor, if had a choice, i would had just stood with my M8, but it cracked in time for my upgrade. The only thing keeping me from selling this phone is the promotion for a spare battery.
I'm not here to make the phone look bad, to be honest, its a beautiful device. Ill most likely wait for CyanogenMod, but I'm not about to harass the forums about release dates.
I have migrated from G3 to G4 because I want B12 which is rolling out in NYC.
In fact, the difference between G3 with 5.x and G4 isn't that much, but you may have better music and video experience with G4 because the speaker is better and louder.
Tempered glass plate for G3 will fit G4 with some space on both top and bottom, but the cutouts are exactly same.
Quadrant is similar on both, but Antutu gets better result on G4 thanks to 64bit architecture.
In short, if your area will have or is having B12 service, G4 is your better option, but if not, the difference is not much.
With the price drop, I did it last week. I did notice the speaker is much better and the camera is quicker. I haven't had it long enough to be able to say about the battery. My thing was that my G3 had cracks around the mic and IR blaster and they bugged me.

600 wasn't realistic for a cheap plastic body that has an old version ram and retarded processor. 400 is the real value of this phone.

Speaking of battery, G4 is similar with G3 according to my usage scheme. However, it may take couple of days to make it settle down.
BTW, you can transfer most of the things (apps, personal data, text and MMS, and most of the apps with data) from G3 to G4 using LG Backup Tool, but you may reboot couple of times to successfully restore.
coming from a G3 I think it's worth the upgrade. There's no oversharpened screen and it's much faster. People figured it would be slow just because they didn't go for a 810 but real world usage suggests otherwise. Performs better than my S6 at least and has longer battery life. I don't get the lag that I had with the G3. Camera is better and the build is certainly better than the G3, especially the frame.
I owned the lg g3 and g4. Battery life on them are about the same.
Some quick mods that are available on some xda forums fixes the touch problems that some may experience..
With the extra battery I can go two days without being worried about charging the phone.
I love the camera. Best one thus far.
The screen looks flawless too! And I got it for 480 which is even better!
It rocks. Do it, only if you love your g3 and want those little extra perks like camera, faster processor, better screen, and better speaker.

I jump from G3 and i must say its worth it. Only regret is i was one of first buyers and paid 600 ! But they gave extra battery charger and 2 sd card for free. So its even i guess !
I just had a chance to use the Camera outdoors yesterday when we were ATV riding. The pictures and video's are amazing.
If I could go back in time, I wouldn't buy the G4 coming from the G3.

There just isn't that much or enough of a difference between the two devices to really make it worth a full priced upgrade. They feel the same in your hand, except for the material if you're opting for leather and also, in my opinion, better designed volume and power buttons.
If you're strictly running your phone on the stock UI, though, it might be an improvement since the G4 does run smoother overall than the G3 does when it's completely stock. However, in my experience, a completely stock G4 will occasionally have a fit of lag so bad that it makes the phone unusable for more than a few minutes unless you pull the battery. I've never had problems like that with my G3. Ever since rooting, though, and removing bloat, I don't have any lag whatsoever.
Another benefit of the G3, unless you absolutely prefer LG's UI, is the number of ROMs available. A G3 running an AOSP or CM based ROM still performs better than a G4 on a good day.
The G4 is an amazing phone still. I just think, given the opportunity, I'd save my money and keep my G3 as my daily. I wouldn't miss out on anything. I feel like I'd get more of a fresh experience had o waited for the Moto X. And I would have saved money.

I sold my G3, bought a Nexus 6 with that money, and traded it for a G4.. So for the price of a G3 I got a G4.
G3 wasn't enough phone for me, Nexus 6 was/is awesome. I bricked my G4 F500L, traded my Sony Xperia Z3v + $140 for another Nexus 6, Love it. But I missed the G4, so I bought another, this time a H811, for less than I sold my G3 for originally.
Actually, as I mentioned, it makes more sense for T-Mobile customers, especially in B12 active area or where is deploying, than other carriers to upgrade from G3 to G4.
B12 LTE is supposed to help reception.

I've had my G3 listed on Craigslist and Swappa for $350 for a few weeks now and the only hits I've gotten were 2 scammers in different countries on Craigslist trying to scam me out of my phone and money like scammers do and some guy on Swappa offering a me less than half of the asking price.
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/benchmarks
Look at iPhone 6s/6s+'s, 750p/1080p, beats Android flagships in benchmarks and destroys them in on-screen GPU tests and real world usage. It literally doubled note 5 in on-screen FPS.
G Flex with its 720p screen and Snapdragon 800 is THE best battery/performance combination period. I am on LTE all day browsing the web and playing Hearthstone against people in real time, and even with this heavy usage I get 4-5 hours screen time. If I am on WIFI easily 5-6 hours screen time. My phone never overheats and I haven't seen any of the Snapdragon 805/810 devices being faster in real usage because of their 2K screens. In fact, all of them are a step backward in battery life. I never felt the 720p non-pentile screen was lacking in any way, low resolution / large text is a benefit when viewing contents that don't dpi scale properly!
For me, LG G3/G4/GFlex 2 are without any question downgrades. Battery life is significantly worse, screens are smaller, increased performance of CPU/GPU don't even cover the resolution increase. Just look at on-screen tests.
Really wish they make more 720p/1080p devices with latest processors, it looks like I am being pushed to iPhone 6s+ / 7+ down the road if nobody in the Android camp wises up. 2K screen is a downgrade not an upgrade in overall user experience!
Z3 and z5 compact are the only things that come close but they have tiny screens, otherwise the oppo r7 plus just don't expect updates, I guess with the g flex you're used to that
I went from a nexus 5 (small battery) to the g3 (very warm and bad battery) to the z2 and I love it. 2 days battery life and magnetic charging port for a cool alarm clock.

Hey man what up couldn't agree more love my flex. I have the g3 as well, live it but still use my flex about 50 50 with my g3. Just can't seem to let it go haha. I would suggest the new Lg nexus 5x, it's a 1080 seems to fit what your looking for!

For about a week I was looking for a replacement for my g flex. None found. The only thing I wanted additional was a sd card and I was good. Replacement must have amoled and not a Samsung device. Everything I've seen is a downgrade in to many areas.
Nexus 6 would be my only comparable upgrade from the flex
Amoled, pretty respectable battery, it does have a crazy screen but once you use one, it's definitely not something you can easily forget. stock android, snapdragon 805, decent camera... other than that, I don't think there's anything that would be competing for my pocket in the "phablet" category.
I dropped my flex then dropped it some more and spider webbed the screen terribly bad. Was tired of the locked BL and decided I wanted to go back to the nexus line, had the first and the n4 and now the N6. The flex was relegated to a card playing toy. I started messing around with it again recently, and it is a nice unit. I am going to replace the screen/housing ($90~) and put it back in service. I have been trying to get the weather app off of it cause I really love it, screen saver too. Not going so well, but we'll see.
I kinda want to upgrade, the new chaos and order 2 performs horribly on it, but then I keep talking myself out of it cause its like "Your going to pay $400 just to play that one game?" everything else about it is perfect.
I'm in the same boat.. nothing to upgrade to! Nothing!!!! Well maybe Nexus 6 when the price comes down as of not I am not willing to pay what they ask. I am so desperate I am considering another Flex so I have a spare and just stay with it until someone makes a decent 6" phone I care to have. I sort of wish I stayed with 5.5" phones so I have many options to upgrade ..
I switched from my Flex to the Huawei Mate 7 -> best desicion ever. Better Screen, better Battery and Lollipop 5.1.1
I will never buy any LG product again after what LG did with the Flex and their "Updates". I will stay with Huawei
The only upgrade from the G-Flex would be going to the Huawei P8Max. I can't wait to buy it. For me, it would be the perfect AIO device.
and i think about buying a new flex instead of old flex
I love g flex. A year ago I bought lg g3 for contract ,when I open the box suddenly I think....no,no,no,I have to sell g3 and buy g flex. After a week I have g flex in my hands....?. 4 months later I buy another for my wife and she loved as well. My contract finish soon and I have no idea what to do. I read in the web that lg g flex 3 was cancelled and I dont se any mobile that suits me. I went to shop and have a look, and when I hold in hand couple phones (not curved) was strange feeling. I decided to buy lg g flex 2 for my wife and grab g flex from wife for me. Really Im not see any phone who gonna be so perfect like g flex, obviously they are better phones, with better camera, more storage but I don't give a f....,...g flex forever.
Seriously...
I've had this phone two years. I used to upgrade AT LEAST once a year. Something is telling me to get anther phone but there is nothing better out. I don't want a smaller, flat screen. I put in a Windows 8 launcher and live that, it almost feels like a new phone, but deep down I know it's still the same amazing hand set. Sucks, but then again, it doesn't. People still see out and I can tell they love it.
I've had my flex since 2013 now its time to let it go. I switched to the Note 4 for now. The Flex 2 was smaller than liked so I passed on it, but hope to come back to LG when they release the G5...
The Note 4 isnt that bad... metal frame, more ram, fingerprint scanner, better camera and sdcard again
Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the LG V10, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the LG V10 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Very happy with it so far and I've only had it for a couple days but am loving it so far.
LG has stepped up to make a great looking, great feeling device. With the addition of the extra battery/200g micro SD AND the 100G for 2 years on Google Drive? Well done
Unrooted AT&T version is surprisingly usable for someone who swore to never own an unrooted device.
I returned my stock Note 4 after a few days in favor of my rooted Note 2 with DN4 ROM. I actually expected to return the V10 because I love my Note 2 so much. My Note 2 went on craigslist the day after getting my V10.
Outside influences prevent me from leaving AT&T for T-mobile, so the contract extension is irrelevant to me. Still, I almost considered buying the T-Mobile phone outright to get the unlocked bootloader. After a few days with the locked down AT&T version, I'm glad I saved the $350 difference. I'll still root it the first chance I get, for the most part, I don't even realize the difference.

Never been more satisfied with a phone in my life.
Have owned the

galaxy s3
galaxy s4
HTC One m8

Only the M8 comes close to the level of satisfaction i feel now
Note. Knock on works well. G4 was iffy to annoying. I don't feel the heat in my pocket because of the screen turning on accidentally. On the G4 I Turned it off. On that note, screen touch response has been excellent none of the issues that haunted some G4.
EDIT: Two weeks after: The more and more I keep using this phone, the more I use it, if that makes sense. The love for actually making use of lots more started with my LG G4, but the V10 continues to do one up every time. I never really used my devices for listening to music, but now that the screen is just that much bigger, albeit 0.2" as a whole I've enjoyed more youtube videos. That going in hand towards finding and listening to more music. I really do enjoy this phone, unlocked boot-loader, rooted, or not, does't make a difference to my enjoyment, even with it's quirks.. No regrets paying full price.
I love the knock feature which allows you to turn screen on/off by double tapping. Next to the ESS DAC this is my favorite feature. Pretty great for an unrooted phone. Almost went with HTC M9 for it's ability to play hi-res music but so far am very happy I went with the V10. I just couldn't turn this one away with such amazing audio specs.

Had this phone for 24 hours and just ? it! I've had a G2 and traded a G3 for this one on TMob. I wish they carried the white version like the international version on Amazon.
I'm coming from Note 5, I own currently the following phones, Motorola XPE, Note Edge, S6 Edge (soon to be send it as a gift to my nephew), I'm waiting for the Nexus 6P to be delivered to me, but I really like this phone. I'm using this as my daily phone and planning to keep it like that. Definitely in love with this phone.
Had an LG G Pro 2 for over 18 months, which was my favourite phone ever. Bought a Note 4 earlier this year (because I loved my old Note 2, way back when...) but it just wasn't as good as the G Pro 2, so I sold it on.
Been waiting for LG to bring out their next big thing - liked the G4 but wanted a bigger screen - so I was excited when rumours about the V10 started to appear, and even more excited when I saw they were keeping the SD card slot and removable battery!
Got my imported V10 at the weekend and it's just perfect. Seriously. I can't think of anything I'd want to change (well, maybe a more reliable FPS...)
Now, if we can get a simple root solution to install Viper4Android I can die happy. )
I will tell you what I don't like. For a phone that boasts a high end headphone amp it can barely drive a pair of earbuds. Very lame.

Had an LG G Pro 2 for over 18 months, which was my favourite phone ever. Bought a Note 4 earlier this year (because I loved my old Note 2, way back when...) but it just wasn't as good as the G Pro 2, so I sold it on.

Other than issues with the Fingerprint sensor & cases (which should be resolved through an update that is/will be available soon), the LG V10 is virtually flawless. I find the second screen useful to quickly launch apps from any screen, call contacts, preview incoming messages, etc. The display is very bright, text is sharp and colors are realistic. Speed is excellent for web browsing, launching apps, screen scrolling, etc.. Capabilities- such as recording video, taking photos (front and back cameras), 32 bit Hi-Fi audio DAC playback, 64 GB of built in storage as well as removable storage/battery, build quality, call quality, advanced LTE data speeds, etc. are top notch. Aggressive promo packages and an excellent price on the T-Mobile network made/make the phone an unbeatable value. As with any well designed piece of electronics- the whole is greater than the sum of the parts- and the phone simply delivers where competitors have compromised.
Just got my Verizon V10 Yesterday. Absolutely LOVE IT!
I think this is very close to the perfect phone.. Only thing I am missing are the front facing dual speakers.. Other then that everything is too notch and it is easily the most feature packs smart phone this year.. Thanks so much lg for sticking with LCD display... I just hate smiled panels
