I'm on MoDaCo r12, and it has worked flawlessly thus far.
All of the sudden Google Talk started telling "Google Talk authentication error", and it keeps playing the notification sound at random and sometimes very often. Additionally Gmail has stopped synchronizing without any notice. Not a single error message!
I have never seen this strangeness in the two years of messing around with Android. Settings -> Accounts and sync sometimes tells me that "Sync is having problems and will be back shortly", but mostly it just doesn't work without telling me about any errors.
The log shows lines like these:
Code:
W/DefaultRequestDirector( 1373): Authentication error: Unable to respond to any of these challenges: {}
Sometimes there will be methods listed in the curly braces, but mostly not.
Code:
W/DefaultRequestDirector( 1406): Authentication error: Unable to respond to any of these challenges: {googlelogin=WWW-Authenticate: GoogleLogin realm="http://www.google.com/accounts/ClientLogin", service=""}
I have tried wiping /cache, re-flashing the ROM image, clearing data in any apps I think might be related to Google services. E.g. Google services framework, accounts, account and sync settings, Talk, Gmail, Market...
I have even tried changing the Google account password twice. The phone notices it and accepts my new password like it normally would, but the issue remains.
This is a @gmail.com account. I have a Google Apps account on my phone also, and that one works fine.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm about to wipe everything and start fresh, but first I would like to know if anyone has any killer tips on to get rid of this. I'm thinking there might be a cached cookie/auth token or something somewhere that's causing this.

That's not it I'm afraid. Using ClockSync, so it was only off by about one second after a reboot just now. I tried fix permissions in despair, but to no avail.
As noted above, my Google Apps account works fine, it's just my gmail.com account that doesn't work. Somehow it seems that Contacts and Calendar are sync'ed. Meaning the time and date of last sync on those are a few minutes ago, but Picasa is dated two days ago, Gmail yesterday.
I checked it on my Nexus One too; it pops up the password prompt (because I changed my pass) and then goes on to synchronize everything perfectly fine. Wtf could cause this! I haven't really done anything but read Twitter, Facebook and some RSS via Pulse before it stopped working. I only updated a couple of apps that is not related in any way and have not changed any system settings.
Fcuk it, I wiped it all and restored apps with titanium backup. All good now.
Hi, i to have a problem with Google account sign in but its with Play store, every time i try to use Play store it asks me to ether use an existing Google account or make a new account even though i have a Google account set up on my phone. So my question is how can i get back on to Play store with my Google account? Tried by removing my account from my phone then going on to Play Store and signed in with my account but when i tried going back to Play store again it asked me to ether make a new account or use an existing account.
I guess its becoz in some parts of the world youtube services has been shutdown and it as affected google services communication badly. I live in pakistan and here we cant access to google play and other google services as well.

Once had the same problem and until I realized I had an error with my baseband, I pulled out a lot of my sparse hair.
Make a good backup and try to flash new bb, then Google will recognize you again (I hope!!!!)
I am using CM10 latest nightly, able to access Play Google app and downloading apps without any issues
But in PC in Google Play, not showing my account and showing errors, plz check screen shots
I tried to clear cache and data and again tried, but not successful
Followed some suggestions while we opening new thread, that also not helpful.
I think there is something migration issue of google play
Hii
Since I didn't found something here and on google I created this thread.
My problem is the following after every HellyBean installation the Calendar doesn't work. I open it and it says me to log in with a goolge account but I'm already logged in with mine. Until now i could fix it with replacing the calendar.apk with the one from the Play Store. But since HB 20130305 this doesn't work either. It always shows this message : Install/update/enable Google Play Services.
But this app is already installed and when i open PlayStore and search for Play Services it says me that my device isn't compatible with the app.
I have no idea how to fix that ?!
Thanks for your suggestions
Everytime I try to connect to google play it says it won't connect, can't use hangouts or any google app. Tried removing and readding my gmail account but now I can't readd it. Is anyone elses Note 3 being ridiculously stupid?
About to return this thing =(
Also tried deleting Play Store data
Apps simply will not download. Stuck in "downloading".
Need rebooting more than once per day. Cleaning cache does not work.
I am on Official 3.1.218 ST and latest Play Store Version 8.8.12-all [0].
Very annoying and I am dealing with this for some months now.
No one else has this problem? Strange.
Just install Play store from Chinese build in the rom app store. It should start to work normally. When you see pending or downloading status just turn off the screen and put the phone aside. Usually after couple of minutes apps will download/update. I know it's strange but it should fix by its own.
On 3.5 rom I do not faced this issue either once, where on 2.15 and 3.1 I had the same thing as you after fresh install of the rom. I fixed it as described above.

Just instal google play store and google services from Chinese/Lenovo app store . Then google contacts sync 8.1 , google calendar sync 5.2.3 , google contacts 2.5.4 , google partner setup 8.1 from apk mirror . Then add google contacts sync to both autostarts , acceleration protection list and turn off it in battery optimization . Then restart your phone
