I tried to fix it.. now I need your help :( - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'll keep this short but explain as much as I can, even though I'm not very technically skilled with any of this modding stuff .
I was running some rom for a while, I believe it was close to stock, rooted, running Superuser with TWRP etc. One day I managed to update Superuser and it caused a bootloop. Desperately trying to sort it out I've read numerous posts on recovering from bootloops etc but it has mostly resulted in me removing TWRP and reinstalling the same ROM / something similar and running recovery etc but to no avail..
Phone is currently ***Tampered*** & ***Relocked***
This is my current getvar all:
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.61.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4T.35.3218.16

If there's anyone out there willing to help out that would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm afraid the point where I could fix this on my own is long gone
Goal is to get the phone close to stock and receieve official updates from HTC. I just want it to be functional at this point.

I highly doubt there will be any official updates for M7, but you can run RUU. That will bring you back to full stock. Also, since you're s-off, you didn't need to relock your bootloader

Figured relocking was pointless after reading some more.. Managed to unlock it again and get TWRP back and install Slim 6 after the full wipe (No idea if it's any good yet) I'm having some issues with getting the SIM to be registered but I'm hopeful I can get it working soon.
If I were to go back to full stock, could you easily point out which one is the right one for my device?

Since you're s-off, pretty much any x.xx.401.xx RUU will flash just fine. You can even downgrade to KK and take updates to the last one

[Q] Flashed RUU-HTC_One_GE-2.14.1700.15. Now i am un able to flash any custom ROM's.

Hello,
I recently flashed RUU-HTC_One_GE-2.14.1700.15 to my M7 to see what it was like. Not getting on with it very well i decided to go back to ARHD. When i tried to restore my back up it got stuck in a boot loop.
I then tried a fresh install of ARHD, deleting all data, but this time it will show the splash screen hang for a while and then reboot into recovery.
I have also tried flashing Venom's latest ROM but it dose the same as ARHD.
I am S-OFF and my HBOOT is 1.54
when i do a get getvar all i get the following

update your recovery to TWRP 2.6.3.3
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
and flash any roms you want... Do Not Go S-on with the GPE Bootloader installed... RUU back to Stock before you consider s-on .. better yet stay s-off forever !!

This worked a treat. Had to load an older version of ARHD first but got up to 71, eventually.

[Q] Unroot

Hello All,
Read so many different posts regarding this I have a headache. Looking to unroot my HTC One (Which never successfully rooted anyway and wouldn't let me run apps such as DSploit saying it wasn't rooted but can no longer update via OTA so guess it needs flashing).
I have relocked the bootloader using fastboot oem lock
I have tried using one RUU I found but this failed: RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed

you will either need to push this file to your internal storage, OR, if your still able to boot to your rom, plug in your phone and then copy it to your internal storage.
then using a custom recovery like TWRP, flash it like you would do with a custom rom, make sure when prompted in the aroma installer, you select wipe data, install stock radio and install stock recovery, once its done and your phone is back on you should get working OTA's, next time, MAKE A BACKUP.

Hi, my mobile is not properly rooted, no matter what I try I cant fix it. Towel root shows SU Access but No root. When I run the app and make it rain, it momentarily appears to give me root as I can run dsploit. Very soon after, or after a manual restart, its gone again.
Don't I need root to even run a RUU file?
How the hell can this be fixed. Agreed I should have run a backup, lesson learned
Phone is still working just cant get OTA updates, or run my favourite app DSPloit
Thanks for your help, I do appreciate your time
Carl
Thanks!
Im back in business now, thanks a lot. Big special thanks to Crushalot also
Thanks
Carl

[Q] I want to get my phone to get ota updates

Hi guys,
To make a long story short, I messed up my phone to a soft brick, revived it, and am now trying to get it back to near normal. I am currently running 6.09.401.12 odex rom by mike1986 on my at&t htc one m7. Question is, is it possible to get an ota update by downgrading my rom to an at&t rom lower than 5.12.502.2? And then get an OTA update? As an aside, on mike's rom (for international htc one) the gps takes a very long time to lock and only shows a blue dot on google maps/no compass mode. Dont know if this has to do with different type of rom or not. So how can I get back to stock while being S-ON? And I accidentally deleted my nandroids while wiping my pc (I know really stupid I did not flash a new radio/using stock radio. Here is output of system getvar:

You either wiped /system or formatted /data hence why you can't boot in your OS anymore...
Flashing custom software (recovery, roms, kernels) requires an unlocked bootloader (like you already know) but booting custom softwares also requires an unlocked bootloader, that's why you can't access twrp anymore now that it'S relocked, even if it's still there on your phone.
Flash the 7.19.707.151 RUU, your phone will be back to 100% stock and from there you'll be able to unlock your bootloader again, flash twrp and a rom. There is a sticky thread in the general section (lolliopop ruu collection), you'll find instructions how to flash the ruu there.

Hello Alray
Thank you for the suggestion, the problem is i can only use fastboot USB and nothing else as it is not allowing me. any suggestions how i can flash .zip ruu. some times it says signature error. and also am getting this ROM 7.21.707.105 is this not good, i am new to this post and was unable to find the one you suggested.

Would appreciate help restoring to stock.

Hi,
I'm a bit of a noob, though spent the better half of the past two days trying to do this but am not giving up, so i decided to call for aid here and see if anyone is kind enough to point me to the right rom.
The device's current state: (tampered unlocked) i66.tinypic(dot)com/jqnriu.jpg
I have TWRP as my recovery. I used it to install a stock ROM but the taskbar doesn't show, and is plagued with exceptions.

All i want to do, is to get this to a stock state, it was previously rooted + cyanogen. I've installed a bunch of roms and am totally lost.
Please someone point me to the right ROM + if it should 'just work' from TWRP. If that works, i aim to upload the stock recovery after, then work on removing the tamper warnings in the bootloader.
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm a bit of a noob, though spent the better half of the past two days trying to do this but am not giving up, so i decided to call for aid here and see if anyone is kind enough to point me to the right rom.
The device's current state: (tampered unlocked) i66.tinypic(dot)com/jqnriu.jpg
I have TWRP as my recovery. I used it to install a stock ROM but the taskbar doesn't show, and is plagued with exceptions.
getvar all shows:

If you want it back to stock, relock the bootloader and flash the 7.19.401.51 ruu from the ruu collection thread (link in my sig). Make sure to read instructions how to flash ruu at post #1 of that thread (use the fastboot version linked at post #1).
And you should remove your imei and serialno from your OP.
i could kiss you right now - you have no idea how much time and how many roms i downloaded - it seems i was just not getting the right rom. Just out of interest, what key thing was i missing? The ROM i thought i needed was titled: PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.51_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_458803_signed
