Hey guys has any one had issues with the stock launcher. I install new apps and they do not show in the app drawer. I even word data from TouchWiz home and they still don't show. Using a third party launcher they show just fine but stock hit or miss if they actually end up in the app drawer. I can search for them so they are installed but if I got locate it does not show it in the drawer.

Open the apps drawer and hit the 3 dots in the top right corner.
Select sort and choose Alphabetical rather than custom.
I believe this may be your issue...

Thanks in advance.

Press & hold screen > Shortcuts > Applications > Application name
Edit: I'm on CM6 but I believe this should work for you.

That didn't work because it doesn't seem to be a stand-alone app, but somehow embedded in G-Maps. Perhaps a recent update got rid of the ability to separate them?
Thanks.
Open app drawer and long press each icon. Might work. Works for me lol

The problem is that they don't appear as individual apps. I can access them from Google Maps, but I can't figure out how to create separate shortcuts for them on one of my screens. Again, I did it with the stock AT&T ROM, but I can't figure it out with the Liberated ROM.
Problem solved!
I rebooted and the icons for Navigation and Places now appears in the app icons.
So my problem has been solved!!
So I used the method of running minimalist buttons (black) and setting them up through Desktop Visulaizer and Astro file manager. I'm currently using LauncherPro Plus. The Phone and Message button goes directly to where there supposed to. The App button or "Widget drawer" does not, I have to have it set up as a "swipe to open" to have a functional App drawer. There was no opition for a "App drwaer launch" with using Desktop Visulaizer.
Does anybody have any idea on how to make this work where all I have to do is click the opition rather then having the swipe to launch?? Any help would be great.
I have provided a shot from using the Shoot Me App.
Thanks.
lwp - long press the app drawer, choose change icon, custom, yours....or am I missing something?
EDIT: Thank you PhoenixPath, I must have had a stupid spell, I took away the "app drawer" icon and replaced that...DUHHH, It has been fixed.

Stock Captivate 2.1 Éclair. ADW launcher.
I had an app freeze up the phone. Had to remove battery and restart. Now the Master Bar (or whatever it is called) at the bottom no longer has the Apps icon in it! The other two are still there.
I now have no way to get into the primary apps list--can run only those that have shortcuts on the home screens. I cannot find any way to get the Apps icon back.
Help, help help please. This is a major fail.
Make sure your desktop is unlocked first ...
tap the screen, hold, then select "launcher actions" -> open/close app drawer
you should have a link to open the apps.
then you can drag and drop the link to the dock.
Or enable the awesome option in adw settings that let's you swipe up anywhere on the screen to open the app drawer.

While on your homescreen press menu -> adw settings -> general behavior -> swipe up actions, and select open close app drawer.

OK. Cancel this question.
Out of the clear blue, it reappeared, but this really scares me. Had it not fixed itself, I would have had a serious deficiency in the phone.
except, previous shows a method (thanks) to recreate the icon, so it would not have been fatal.

Don't long press an app icon. I only see that if I long press an icon. Otherwise from playing around with settings I have not come across any way to disable it.

You can install an alternative Home launcher, such as APEX launcher, or NOVA launcher. Both support home screen layout importing, so you don't have to re-arrange apps the way you have them. Widgets will need to be re-made though.
There are more settings available on these apps and you can easily set them both up to look like the stock launcher, or you can set it up how you prefer. I used to use APEX but no longer find the need for it myself.
Coming from Oxygen, there's still a lot of visual stuff I dislike about One UI, though I will say, it's FAR better than the last Samsung I used which ran TouchWiz.
Running Nova and Theme Park to get things looking/running the way I generally prefer.
The one last piece that I really dislike but can't find a complete solution for is the Task Manager. I have Home Up running, but the part that annoys me is the Recent App shortcuts. They appear to be randomly generated, and the icons are horrific and cartoony. I just don't like it.
Is there an alternative or way to just turn the recent app shortcuts off? Screenshot attached for clarity.
Home up, task changer, disable "hide search bar"
Enter recents, three dots menu in search bar, settings, disable "show recommended apps"
Now you can hide search bar again

I actually discovered that RIGHT as I got a notification of your reply.
Big thanks for chiming in.
While I still generally think One UI < Oxygen, with enough tweaks, I can deal.
Question for you OP. How'd you get home up working while using Nova. None of the settings seem to stick when changing task manager using goodlock homeup when move is set to default.

there is a recent update to One UI Home that fixed that issue for me with lawnchair.
if youre not getting it through samsung, you can sideload it from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...rience-home-touchwiz-home-12-1-05-11-release/
you also may or may not have to update home up.

Thanks that worked! Looking clean now. I also hated the suggested apps at the bottom. I use a higher dpi and that was not affected by the dpi change. So it looked even worse on my phone. They looked huge compared to everything else.

Hi there
I was wondering if there is any way to apply the new homeup with the task changer on one ui 2.5 or any other good lock plugins for that matter
Samsung is only updating them for android 11 and was really hoping to get them on my phone
BTW I have a note 9 so no updates for me
