Using Viper4android. Will it work ?
Additionally, use the Sonichunter Speaker convolver profile to enhance the bass of the speaker. It really fills in the sound, making it less tinny.

Viper4Arise is just a more solid mod which incorporates all the all the bells and whistles on the V4A. The speaker volume just blows the top now. Honestly I have to reduce the volume at office now, its that good.

I did a clean flash and it worked, but dolby is force closing. You know how to fix it ?
Same steps above. You need to have selinux as permissive. Rename that file I mentioned. The sound libaries installed by default by the ROM are obstructing the dolby installation.

P.S : I removed deep buffer during installation is that a reason ?

Try with the original media player on the rom and not third party apps like poweramp. While playing music from the stock audio player, are you still seeing 'no processing'?

Wanted too conclude that everything went according to the plan and purpose. But the objective of flashing this has not been fulfilled. I am getting good music, but notifications are stilll unaffected as Viper4arise is making the sound more like music and less louder. Even trying out loud options is not working in my favor. When I disabled the speaker part,, The sound is little better .. Still not what it should be.. on stock sound was much more audible... I am only speaking about the ringtones and notifications.

Do you have the volume leveler switched on the dolby atmos settings? The loudness actually comes from there. V4A is more just the sound mod which controls the music quality.

EDIT: I am not affiliated with this MOD at all, I'm simply spreading the word.
Alright, forget AwesomeBEATS, AC!D Soundmod and DSP Manager. I've been trying this out for a few weeks now, with incredible results. I have tested this on both Borked ROM and PACman, and works flawlessly on both so it should work on all ROMs available for our Vivid. The only bug I have noticed is the separate bluetooth settings don't seem to make a difference, it just uses the Headset settings. Here are the settings I've found with the best sound for me so far, it will make your ears happy.
V4A-FX Powered On- CHECKED
PlaybackAGC- Unchecked
FIR Equalizer- CHECKED- I use Vocal Booster
Convolver- CHECKED- srs_2_1_normal+headset.irs
Field Surround- CHECKED- Both set to Moderate
Reverberation- Unchecked
Dynamic System- CHECKED- I have Denon headphones so I select High-End, sometimes Extreme. I can tell a difference between the two.
Tube Simulator- CHECKED
Just read through the thread and you'll find the .irs files and what to do with them. Installation is super easy and makes a huge difference.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
For our Vivid, choose A8Cortex with Neon when it does the initial driver setup.
If you have TitaniumBackup or can otherwise completely remove DSP Manager, I highly recommend this as to avoid conflicting settings.
thank you it works! my cm10 flashed vivid is so much louder and clear thanks again
I also want to point out my edit, if you can remove DSP manager from the system I recommend doing so, as its settings will conflict and deteriorate Viper's.
I'm glad you said something cus I deleted dsp manager and I'm using viper and I was gunna reflash the dsp manager since I think there's to much bass and music is a bid distorted.

It really does turn your phone into a high-end preamp/mixer, the audio profiles you can create with a little tweaking are amazing. This is one of the best setups I've found so far, for my headphones and the cassette adapter in my car-
Headset-
Master Power- On
Playback Gain- Off
FIR Equalizer- On- Vocal Booster
Convolver- On- IRS I use is samsung_i9300_soundalive_11_virtualchannel7.1.irs
Field Surround- Off
Headphone Surround- Off in the car, On for headphones (sometimes)
Reverberation- Off
Dynamic System- On- Extreme Headphones(v2), 16% Dynamic Bass, Tube Simulator enabled
Fidelity Control- ViPER Bass- On- Natural Bass, 40hz, 3.5db, ViPER Clarity- On- OZone+, 3.5db
Auditory System Protection- Cure Tech- On, Moderate
Master Gate (Limiter)- 0db, 0db
Glad it's working out for you guys!

considering trying this mod...
but i need to know how to uninstall this mod ...just incase i don't like it ....
(I'm currently rooted running a stock dedoxed rom... using beats audio and poweramp so headphone wise i have no issue with the sound, but sound through the phones speakers is just too low.)
I'm on 4.2.2 Unofficial Dirty Unicorn (7-18-13),
after flash the rom,on phone speaker, default bass was too heavy to make it sounds horrible, and the dsp manager didn't work.
but this MOD works great!
Really thanks for the info, it fixed my phone speaker problem

"- Where possible, arrange for the conversion of the songs (in background) below 256 kbps to 320kbps" lol thats the ugliest thing i've seen till now^^
If you really want to enhance audio quallity, buy good Headphones (no Beats or comparable) and use 10 Band EQ to tune the sound to what you like most.
Everything that's using Beats Audio is just messing up Audio Quality, its going to be far away from how it should sound, there are many reports in how beats audio works and how ugly it is, especially when using better Hifi-Headphones.
i flashed this and now sound quality is very good but volume is low ex. max vol on phone same as computer at 2/5 vol. normal? i think it were bit louder earlier. you feel same? Poweramp gain and direct sound made it better though.

Lollipop update on our Z2 is sweet to me, but that wasn't without disappointment from the sound department.
After series of search for SOUNDMOD to improve sound quality, there were none at first for LP but later others appeared either enabling stereo for sound and notification only or one side of the sound.
This mod I tried to enable and fine tune to my taste but being cautious about the Max sound level the speakers can handle.
This is just for sharing, if you are dampened by the sound quality of your Z2 lollipop like me, you may give it a try.
What I changed
? incall loudspeaker stereo
? notification, ringtone, alarm and sound stereo (stereo everywhere except on regular call with handset, i.e top speaker.
? sound boost for incall loudspeaker, and handset
? sound boost for music, notifications, ringtone, and headset
? sound boost for video recording
How to install
ROOT IS REQUIRED
I'm not responsible for your mother or father or boss ceasing your phone because you're preoccupied with enjoying your new sound quality due to this mod.
Use at your own risk
Always be sure to make a backup first in case you want to revert.
Download attached mixer_flashable_rectified.zip file, extract, copy to system folder using any root file manager, set required permission 0644. Move it into system/etc/ folder.
Reboot and enjoy your new sound quality.
UPDATE 26/04/2015
Rectified the sound difference between the earphones left and right. SORRY for the error, there was 5db sound difference between left and right.
Download mixer_flashable_rectified.zip and flash over the old one.

These developments are usually random. Give it time I'm sure someone will at some point get bored and make it happen :cyclops:
I myself wouldn't install such thing as it would only deteriorate the earpiece faster, but I do wish manufacturers would move on from placing the speaker(s) in a grill at the bottom. One finger of mine can ruin the sound experience by blocking the grill. Stereo front facing speakers is the one thing that I miss from the HTC One M series as well as the Nexus 6 although the Nexus 6 has speaker related issues at times (TRUST ME), and the Nexus 6 didn't have a sound driver to go with the amazing speakers.

Please test it out and report back.
The mixer files are from AOSP rom, so it would be better if you guys can test it on roms based on AOSP. :highfive:

Is it working with the music application ? & is there any need to boost the earpiece gain?
Also have you tried using V4A with this mod?

The confusing part is that Xiaomi has already added the dual speaker code in speaker path, just like poco, but for some reason it fails to initialize.
Will try to fix the issue, and post updated zip.
