Hi,
I recently updated my T-Mobile HTC One M9 to Nougat. It is not rooted, unlocked, or modified in any way. After the update, I noticed two issues:
1. When on a call, speakerphone seems to fail about 95% off the time. The person can hear me, but I can't hear them. If I turn off speaker phone, it is perfectly fine.
2. If my phone screen is turned on, sometimes I cannot hear calls. I am 90% certain this only happens when connected to bluetooth via my car.
Long story short, I had this phone replaced a few days ago due to the vibration motor no longer functioning. The replacement arrived with Android 6.0. I confirmed speakerphone worked immediately. I then proceeded to install a plethora of updates until I was back on the latest 7.0 version provided by T-Mobile. I did not install any third party apps. I am experiencing the same two issues above. I think similar issues were occurring on the Nexus 6P, at least in regards to speakerphone issues after Nougat updates.
Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? Anyone have a fix?
I currently disabled VoLTE (Voice over LTE). My first speakerphone test worked - so we'll see if that is the temporary fix for now.

Hi, I'm currently running CM11, after flashing from stock. Whenever I attempt to make a call, through Hike, Razer, even WhatsApp(ticking sound comes for the receiver) the receiver cannot hear me, but I can hear them clearly. Is anyone facing this same problem? If anyone could, please try it out. It also happened to me on ProuDroid(4.4.4) but for a brief period on which I was on CM12(QuantumLP) the calling on razer worked fine. So I'm thinking it's maybe CM11 roms ?
Might be CM 11/12 issue try searching the relevant threads in the development section and do some research before posting
Same here. Just reboot the phone the problem will be solved.

I have the same problem with a skyrocket running cm11. It happened after I enabled whatsapp calling. Whenever I made or received a whatsapp call the mic would be disabled even for phone calls after that. I would have to reset the phone to restore functionality. I had to go back to an old 2.11.515 version of whtsapp to disable calling. Now everything is fine except for whatsapp calling.

Hope I'm not too late
I have VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling turned off. Sometimes when I answer an incoming call quickly (actually that doesn't matter), I just get silence and I can't hear the caller and they can't hear me. I have to hang up and try again; Anyone else encounter this?
Update: I think I narrowed it down. Apparently the first call I receive after rebooting my phone always fails (unless I've made an outgoing call first). Subsequent calls work fine until my phone is powered down or rebooted, then the 1st incoming call fails again. I can reproduce this 100% of the time.
I've had this happen a couple times, funny thing is I've had it happen on my S4 and S5 as well.. Im starting to think its Tmo's network.
It might be a glitch with T-Mobile's network, but I haven't encountered it on previous devices. For example, I just switched from the Nexus 5 and never had a problem with voice calls.
I've had this happen a few times also with my S6. Never happened before, and I've been with T-Mobile for over 2 years.
This only happens for me occasionally if one of the callers is on Wifi calling, but it's happened with every phone (not just the S6) so it's definitely a network issue
I found this related to the S4, http://thedroidguy.com/2013/06/gala...ting-incoming-calls-66029#jMqaFVvIYCDRQHse.97. I've disabled the mute function in motions and gestures. We'll see if that works.

Been with Tmo for 5 years now and I have had this happen on previous devices.. could be the area I am... lol, I also notice a delay when making a call out which I believe is the network
Never had this problem on S4, but since getting the S6 this problem has been bugging me. Very frustrating.
ok so i recently purchased a Verizon Droid Turbo (XT1254) with Build Number: SU4TL-49 and System Version: 23.21.49.quark_verizon.verizon.en.US.vzw, Its not unlocked or rooted and has android 5.1 stock rom.
now the problem is that from time to time the phone acts up and when i receive or make a call, neither I nor the person being called / calling can hear each other. sometimes it requires that i hard reboot to get it to work and sometimes even that doesnt work so i have had to do a factory reset a couple of times. and i have the following questions:
1) is this a hardware issue or software?
2) will rooting and moving to a different rom fix this issue?
3) i have also noticed that when i plug in any headphone, there is no headphone sign coming on the screen and i can hear sound from both the headphone and phone speakers. can that be linked? also is this problem specifically hardware based or some fault in software can cause the same issue?
i tried searching for this problem but couldnt find a topic about it or one which dealt with this problem.
UPDATE EDIT: after some time the problem came back and this time i have found a much more viable solution to the problem. the problem itself is in the dialer app of the mobile, which is why rebooting usually solves the issue. but the problem with this solution is that you will need to update to the latest firmware available on the XT1254 through Verizon. I've personally have had to pay for the root and then manual update since the update could not be downloaded in my country. this is what fixed this irritating issue for me so i thought i would share it.
UPDATE EDIT 2: so after reading all about the issue, if found that it is indeed the dialer app, no idea why but it messes up even after i tried multiple roms. final solution which has got it working for me again is the installation of a dialer app by the name of Exdialer found on the playstore. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modoohut.dialer&hl=en, after thorough diagnosis i came to the conclusion that the stock dialers use the noise cancellation feature (which seems buggy, mic fault or software, im not sure), alternate apps like Exdialer / Truecaller do not and it works fine while utilizing a single mic. just to make sure that you are facing the same issue, do a voice call on whatsapp and see if the other person can hear your voice, if they do, then give this solution a try.
1. Sounds like a hardware issue to me.
2. Probably not if it is hardware related.
3. That could be caused by bad headphones, but in this case it might be linked.
If you purchased this new, I'd recommend trying to get it replaced under warranty. Motorola factory warranty is 1 year from the date of new purchase, and it's very easy to get them to send you a replacement. When I had my warranty replacement sent to me, it even looked like the device was new and not refurbished, which is what a Verizon warranty claim will get you.
i checked it today and found the hardware issue to be true.
when the problem occurs, plugging a headphone in and then removing it fixes the issue.
unfortunately i bought it used and there is no warranty, however i can try to get it replaced with a similar handset.
thank you for your reply.
Mine did this as the battery was dying/dead. Replacing the battery fixed it immediately.
i faced the issue even on a full battery. i was led to believe that it was the headphone jack because plugging in the headphone during such an instance would allow me to hear the callers voice and the removing the headphone would revert it back to normal.
i have cleaned out the jack since then and i have yet to face the problem again. not really sure what was causing it to earth.
Bit of a disappointment that the basic function of the phone is not working correctly!
In order to be heard on a call I need to switch on speakerphone. Anyone else had this issue?
Tried wiping the cache and restarting the device.
Verified that the microphone is working. I can make calls with Messenger, WhatsApp etc.
Upon hanging up, there is an audible pop on the receiver end during my tests.
Affects both incoming and outgoing calls.
NX627J_V1AMB with build NX627J_ENCommon_V2.03. The phone came with V1.03 but did not test calling.
Phone app build version 11.0.
Any help much appreciated.
Hi,
Ordered my phone with EU distribution and came with NX627J_ENCommon_V2.03 and I don't have such a problem. Maybe flashing went wrong? There are many users experiencing issues after flashing.

Hi, this was after flashing but I've since debricked (using https://forum.xda-developers.com/nubia-z20/how-to/tool-nubia-z20-unbirck-tool-t4009227) so believe I'm on the correct firmware. If someone can confirm this is the case that would be useful otherwise I will try and flash firmware
There was a problem with but not limited to some mintmobile users on the P5. Most of the Reddit posts are from November and early December. The problem was that calls would either not connect at all or would drop mid call. I had the P5 for 2 weeks and never had that problem but that may be because I use a Google Voice number and app.
Did anyone use to have that problem and are still using P5 with mint? This they push an update to fix it?
Only problem I had was that wifi calling would work for a few hours and then later on, if you tried to make an outgoing call, it would attempt and immediately die. So far, it seems ok so I think it might be fixed.
