I'm trying to get my S2 T813 back to full stock.
Was rooted & TWRP 3.0.2.1, running 6.01. Factory reset got me part way there, but TWRP remains.
What is the best route to get this back to stock recovery?
I tried ODIN (3.13) & 6.0 firmware (T813XXU1APF4_T813XAR1APF1_HOME.tar.md5), but returns a Failed to Write response.
I'm more familiar with ADB methods with my Nexus/Pixel devices, so not clear how to proceed to complete this task via ODIN.
- Thanks!
Got it. Used the Smart Switch app. Permitted an update to 7.0 and set the Status Flag = "Official"

Hi Guys I flashed over to the stock firmware and then rooted it in order to use triangleaway.
initial binary count was 3 when I checked after using Triangleaway.
I used triangleaway but it is still showing as binary count 1.
What am I doing rom?
Using stock Telstra 4.1.1 firmware.
Did it come with a binary count with 1 for Telstra phones?
Any assistance would be great. This is for warranty purposes.
use TA, and then flash a stock rom before it reboots, then factory reset from recovery.
you have to be stock in every way for it to be zero
After I use TA. It gives me two options to reboot into download mode or for a normal reboot. Which do I select? Thanks
reboot to download mode and flash a stock rom. factory reset from recovery afterwards. there are plenty of guides to assist you
Thanks figured it out.
Selected Reboot in Download mode after TA. As soon as it went to reboot and screen went back I pulled out the battery. Booted it up manually to the Download Mode and it is now displaying "NO" or "0"
It's due to custom kernel, it must have stock one to reset counter
you're welcome
Hello, I have been trying to flash for 2 days now but still couldn't get it working.
Initially, my I9305 is running on stock without root. I wanted to root it and then install recovery and ROM.
And so I prepare the necessary files, and start to flash.
I used CF-Auto-Root to root my device first, then got Resurrection ROM and Gapps to flash.
Then I started to get some issue, as it always fail. Error message like no file context and so on. So I read online resources, and found out that I had a older version of TWRP installed which may cause the install.
I then tried to upgrade TWRP but it doesn't allow me to. No choice, I had to flash philz touch, and I did.
I then tried to flash Resurrection again, boot up, and it keep giving me bootloop. After which I downloaded nameless ROM, and CM11 but same issue.
Yesterday night, I downloaded the stock firmware to try. I flashed it, and it is successful based on ODIN, but it still won't boot up.
I just tried it again and it stuck on the Samsung logo screen.
Can anyone tell me what else to do? What I have to do?
This is the stock firmware that I have downloaded and flash - I9305XXUENH1_I9305EVRENH1_EVR.
Let me know what other information I have to provide.
Thanks!
Here's the Download mode information.
Custom binary count: 9 counts
Current binary: samsung offical
System status: custom
Knox void: 1
RP SWREV: A2
Update: 16/1
I just tried to go into my recovery mode and apparently, it has been changed back to stock recovery which I assume is because I have flashed the stock firmware.
I am trying it yet again after wiping in stock recovery, to flash the stock firmware again now.
P.S: I have posted it in http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help-i9305/qa-samsung-galaxy-s3-lte-roms-kernels-t2999494 but no reply. So trying my luck here.
Ok, this is funny. I waited for 2-3 days before posting here for help. And it doesn't work for all those days.
Now that I just posted, it finally worked. I am getting into the setup screen.
Anyway, for those people who may have the same issue as me in the future, try to wipe everything after flash to stock firmware. then flash stock firmware again.
After flash
It's a good call,as per your last post,to wipe data and factory reset after a flash and even a second install.Need to give time for changes to occur.Don' go too fast.HTH.
Hi Forum,
What i did to root the G900W8 Canadian Galaxy S5 variant is the following:
1. Downloaded the Super user which can be found. http://www.mediafire.com/download/7hzka026ofddjz7
2. Download and flash the Philz recovery . http://www.mediafire.com/download/vn77n8c17qq69pt
Now you can flash the recovery via Odin and use the super user. Install super user from revovery menu install from zip.

Yes it does..... I dont think there is a way around it.... as i work with a lot of phones on a daily basis... i need to be quick with things... cant flash roms specially when you are doing remote imei repairs and such....
no need do remote emei repaire it cost $ , just root and write certificate
The only issue is that the certificates get blacklisted... you need private cert files
How is the modem? Is it sticking without issue?
Hey, guys. Just rooted G900W8. lollipop, build LRX21T.G900W8VLU1BOC2.
Used this guide with one remark.
http://galaxys5root.com/galaxy-s5-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s5/
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After I did everything, I had what some other people had, there was no Philztouch:
"i had try that way…the menu still shown
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from externel storage
wipe data / factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
then i try push ….. apply update from externel storage…the next error happened
Finding update package …
Opening update package …
Verifiyng update package …
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, the answer is in the comments too -
"A reply to this problem has been posted MANY times. Take the back off your phone and flash Philztouch with Odin. Get ready to pull the battery IMMEDIATELY you see the green PASS! on Odin – I did it by having my fingernail hooked into the battery slot while the phone was downloading the file, and pulling the battery the second I saw the PASS! (yes, the phone was still connected to the PC with the cable). I counted to 20, replaced the battery, and booted straight into recovery – (Vol Up, Power and Home pressed all together). Philztouch recovery came up. "
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, here's scary part. I un-ticked Auto-reset and factory reset boxes in Odin, flashed Philztouch, and Odin stuck on RESET state, phone was still in downloading state! Well, after couple minutes I had no choice but to pull battery.
Put battery back in, tried to boot into recovery...and bingo! It was Philztouch! Now I flashed SuperSU, rebooted, at some reason I had no warnings, triangles whatsoever! Another funny thing - SuperSU didn't promt me to disable Knox automatically at some reason. I downloaded Titanium Backup, and freezed Knox along with millions of other bloatware programs.
Phone originally was Canada, Fido, I unlocked it after rooting, purchased code for $15.
Hope this helps.
I am on lollipop 5.1.1 Will this still work
Hi,
I have Roger's unlocked Galaxy S5 G900W8. I have installed custom rom on it and now I want to revert back to stock rom.
Will flashing Roger's stock rom lock my phone again?
P S: I don't live in Canada so if Roger's rom changes my modem settings then I will be unable to use my Sim.

In odin just untick update modem and bootloader and there wont be any problem. Beside theres rom like no limits or stock rooted rom you can flash for g900f it will work.
Was on rooted stock 6.0.1 and wasn't able to get Xposed working, so I decided I want to go back to 5.1.1. No matter what path I try, I can't get anything except unrooted stock 5.1.1 to boot up.
Here's what I tried
Flash ODIN 5.1.1 DOK2 image > boots up fine
Flashed CF auto root - does not boot up. Keeps rebooting
Wipe everything in TWRP (cache, data, dalvik) > keeps rebooting
Flashed ODIN 5.1.1 DOK2 again > boots up fine
Flashed TWRP in ODIN > can get to TWRP and made nandroid backup
Installed 5.1.1 ROM (TEKXnesis) > does not boot up. Keeps rebooting
What am I doing wrong? Do I need to flash Kernel? Modem? Etc?

I have always done exactly as you did. In fact, I just downgraded from mm the other day.
Odin stock then boot into stock recovery and factory wipe. Boot up into stock (don't bother setting up first time)
Then, Odin twrp, reboot into recovery wipe everything (except extsd) flash rom of choice.
Most roms are prerooted.
Maybe re-download rom, or try another rom.
Maxovrdrive is very good, Kyubi Rom n5 port is the best imo.

Xposed 85.1 alt wanam works on all MM, if you want to save your time downgrading

Flash a permissive kernel like BeastMode SimplyRoot. (for 5.1.1)
Also yes, like @Amd4life said you need Xposed 85.1 ALT for this phone and MM.
Going back to 5.1.1 would be silly honestly. 5.1.1 seemed to have been fundamentally flawed. MM seems to be golden, so long as you update it properly.
I was able to get working after re-flashing a kernel.
I planned on using Tekxodus ROM. Does Kyubi or Maxovrdrive have the T-Mobile features (Wifi calling, etc)?
Regarding 5.1.1 vs 6.0.1 I can't tell much difference. What is the main motivation to upgrade?
Im on 6.0.1 epe3 and i want to go back to Lollipop... so by following your steps will i be able to downgrade?? liek you did? where you in the same version?
I wouldn't call the MM update golden. Was thrilled rocking pvsghs lightweight 5.1.1 + Beast Mode. Updated because, why not? Yeah no. Fairly certain something didn't wipe/clean/format properly. Can't connect to an EAP (work) secured router any more. Random empty folders. Logcat shows lots of Es, nulls and empty calls. Bluetooth stuttering. Scrubbing the whole mess and dropping a fresh t3 dok2 install via ODIN did not fix everything. If it was a windoz box it would get formatted AF with DBAN, but what to do in android? For the most part it's no major and the price we pay when stepping off the cliff to mod (been doing it since the Dash and my old school o g G1) but the router issue still has me searching for a fix.
Anyway - yes you can downgrade. I started ootb as a 910t3 on dok2 refurbished from tmo, updated to 6.0.1, then went back to 910t3 on dok2. I have issues, but they were introduced by the MM upgrade, not by downgrading.

For the longest time, I was on CM12 with TWRP on my Note 4. I had progressively updated the thing to every nightly update over the year and a half, and decided I wanted to go back to a stock non-rooted state so I can use Android Pay.
Everything flashed ok, the phone is working stock, but recovery is not. If I go into Recovery mode, it says "Installing Update..........................No command!". But then proceeds to "appear" to work. I'm worried this weird error into recovery may prevent recovery mode from installing future samsung updates. Is it normal for recovery to say no command on a stock reflash? I flashed EPG2 via ODIN.
