Huawei P8 lite (2017)

As you see this phone will be released soon with Android 5.0 3GB RAM FINGERPRINT SESNSOR.
I wonder shall we get Android N too?

Android 7.0 with EMUI 5 ? with glass back like honor 8

Wow. That's amazing. Why this?

I dont know to be honest, but it will cost around 250€ in Europe. If I am right it has same motherboard as P8 lite 2015. Lets hope 7.0 will come to us soon

It has 655 so android 7 cannot be ported from it to us 650 chipset

I think this is the end of Android 7 dream for our P8 lite, and after release, probably end of all updates for old P8 lite version.

So what Huawei are basically saying is , if you want Android 7 you"ll have to buy a NEW phone. Hope our device gets LineageOS soon.

If p8 won't get it because the processor won't support it, why do you keep feeding the idea that we'll get Nougat someday? Only through Custom Roms, won't ever happen officially.

I don't think our phone could handle Nougat well... Plus it usesa different board; ours has Kirin 620 and this new one have Kirin 655

Our phone of course can handle Nougat very well.........Samsung galaxy S3 can run it smooth and our phone is superior to it ....

is funny that my moto G 4g from 2013 has custom roms with android 7.1.1 and it is smooth as ****, a lot faster than my Honor 4X (Kirin 620) with emui 4.0 lol, the only thing that my Huawei is better is on games, the rest the moto g is a lot better
anyways i'm not blaming the devs, i blame huawei for sharing a ****ty source code so, to build custom roms it is hard as hell

I think it was pretty obvious that we will not get EMUI 5 (or android 7.0 generally) officially. It really seems like huawei goes out plain and says : "You want Nougat? Buy yourselves an improved version of the phone and expect no further updates whatsoever". Also, the P8 Lite can handle Nougat like many other less powerful phones out there like the Moto G. We are counting on devs for 7.0 rom (like LineageOS) but with the source code that Huawei has provided is seems really hard.

Some sources tell that we will get a refreshed version of EMUI 4.1 but with some of improvements of EMUI 5....... This is for P8 and P8LITE

I have also read some sources claiming that. I cannot find a link right now as there has been more than a month since i've read that. The sources claimed that the P8 Lite along with the P8 will get EMUI 4.1 with some ported-back features from EMUI 5. There is already EMUI 4.1 from vodafone so , if this is true, i am curious to see what are the ported-back features. I am starting to doubt this after seeing the release of the P8 Lite (2017) though....

Emui 4.1 will be the last EMUI Big Update for us. Huawei says "You wanna have EMUI 5? get the P8 Lite 2017"

You can also say roms for other Kirin 620 cpu devices, like honor 4c, 4x, if they are compatible

There are no custom roms for daily usage at the moment.

Question about installing LineageOS 14.1 from Android 6

Hi I'm Jimmy,
I have this inconvenient about installing LineageOS 14.1 from Android 6: I have a Huawei G Play (G735-L23), I convert this into a Honor 4X with this metod: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcg9cCi8e7w, that consist in to install a Rom that have an unknown phone model number, after that install the rom Android 5.1 for Honor 4x, and after that install the Rom Android 6.0 for Honor 4x, and now i'm trying to install the rom LineageOS 14.1 Cherry through TWRP 3.1, but the installation fails and say that the rom is for phone g620s and others, and my phone is "Cherry", what can i do?

Nothing. All (working) roms on honor 4x forum are for honor 4x with qualcomm chipset(there are 2 versions of honor 4x). Your device is probably with kirin 620 chipset.

what happens if I flash rom for honor4/4x?

Hi all, I have been playing with some ROMs since HTC G4 Tattoo, but I have only installed ROMs for my phones. In the forum I have read many questions about installing ROM for P8Lite on Honor 4. What would happen, if I flash maybe Lineage OS for Honor 4 on my P8Lite? Has anyone tried such stuff? Thanks!

I put this similar question on the forum 5... maybe 6 days ago.
I even searched all Honor 4/4x forums, and all roms are based on Honor 4x G620S, what is on msm8916 architecture
but msm8916=snapdragon
ale-l21=kirin
kirin and snapdragon don't go too well together, there is no way to port that rom, or to install it on every P8 Lite
As a matter of fact, Snapdragon Honor 4c/4x/4 is more popular, when on Huawei the Kirin devices are more popular(ALE-L21) then th sanp one(ALE-L04)

Well the honor 4c? I believe also has Kirin-620 chipset. As long as its Kirin-620, you are free to flash it. Flashing a Snapdragon ROM could result in a broken Chipset. And then you would need a replacement or a new phone. I don't know if that still can happen, but it happen to me in 2013. So better watch out.

YES, it's a PRA-LA1 with hi6250 platform but you must be on EMUI 8 berfore doing that

How do I do that on a PRA-LX1? It doesnt update from the system menu. (from 7.0.1 to 8.0)

I have Android 8.0 on my Huawei P8 Lite 2017(PRA-LX1) received the update 4 months ago. I
would recommend to checkout https://openkirin.net
They make roms only for Huawei devices. And do have a Android Pie rom(Omni alpha stage 2). Requirements: Android 8.0, unlock Bootloader and you should have adb fastboot on your pc(they dont use twrp). All the guides is on there website.

MY Internet won't work is it a software problem
