Camera2 API support level? - Alcatel Idol 4S Questions & Answers

I'm very much interested in the camera capabilities (esp. manual video controls) of Android phones. Manual controls are (at least when using 3rd party apps) related to the support level of Camera2 API implementation by the manufacturer of the phone. Can anyone with a 4S tell me what Camera2 API support level the device has? ('Legacy', 'Limited', 'Full' or 'Level 3') There are two free apps on the PlayStore which you can use to test: "Camera2 probe" and "Camera2 Probe" (sorry can't link yet as I'm a newbie here).
Thanks in advance

Compatibility with advanced camera api (Camera2 api)

Hi, i'm coming from Windows Phone and the only reason that stopped me from buying a Z3 compact is the camera2 api non-compatibility.
Camera2 apis enables manual focus, white balance, iso, shutter speed and raw support (my Lumia 930 have all of those)
Is this z3+ compatible with Camera2 APIs? You can check from the Manual Camera Compatibility app (by GD software), Lollipop required

old z3 has no compatibility at all
Thank you!
i answer to myself: this youtube video says YES (except for raw support.. that sucks)

i guess it will be the same for Z3+ compact, at least i hope so

Curious if Note 5 has the Camera2 api enabled

This camera app has manual settings for shutter speed, white balance and iso but needs the Camera2 api to work

Compatibility App:

The official app also has those features. Logic would say that it must have the api. It also has raw file savings, which is part of the api. I cannot imagine that Samsung would use a non standard way to achieve raw file support.

There is nto a way for sammy to shoot RAW without Camera2 API. Yes, it does have it, OP. RAW shooting and the extra adjustments are all present out of the box (got mine in the mail 10 hours ago)

Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Cinema 4k

Hello Androids!
Anyone knows why my Cinema 4K app crashes when i try to enable flat profile in Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Is it something to do with that Camera2 API, because it gave me notification "This device doesn't support Camera2 API". I really want to use that FLAT profile function which is provided only in this particular app which makes colour grading in editing much efficient. Is there way to fix this issue?
there is no proper camera2 api functionality in the mate 10/pro, so unfortunately there isnt a way to fix this

Google Camera for Note 8 [Mod8.3b_IDan_v4.7]

Google Camera [version 5.1.018] for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (greatlte)
A working mod of Google Camera or GCam for Galaxy Note 8 Exynos is now available to download which is built by IDan. With a proper manual settings, almost every feature is working on this Google Camera.
This is based on Google camera base version 5.1.018. You get HDR+, ZSL, Slow motion etc. on this GCam Exynos mod for Galaxy Note 8 Exynos model.
IDan’s GCam Exynos builds come not so frequently, but these are compatible for most of the recent Samsung models running on Exynos chipset.
Why Camera2API ?
⚬ Camera2 API was enabled on Android 5.0 to give the software applications access to the low level functionality of a camera hardware such as: Slow motion, RAW image capability etc.
⚬ To be able to use the Google Camera RAW image capture, Slow motion, manual control and other features Camera2 API works with HAL3 version.
Why Gcam Tools ?
⚬ To Prevent flipping of front camera photos, help to choose which photos you want to move, select custom source and destination folders, to batch move multiple files & help to delete the sub folder created by Google Camera.

Camera modding breakthrough needs help

Apparently devs managed to enable an experimental feature of the imx 586 on the Asus ZenFone 6. It's called quad hdr and it enables variable pixel exposure on third party apps and also on video, allowing for better highlights exposure, but not a fake hdr feature, a real even exposure across all image even on Instagram, chat apps etc. This is achieved through a vendor hack and is being discussed on the k20/k20 pro photography group. Unfortunately there seems to be little help for the devs there so I was hoping if someone knowledgeable could help get this feature to our device.
