Currently I'm using a theme from S8 forums and it's really stunning but I have only one problem with my original contacts app for note 5 that I can't see white text on white background.
I solved the problem before by updating the contacts app to latest version when I had s8 based rom but now I got back to original rooted note 5 rom and I can't install Contacts App from S8.
Is there any way I can't setup Contacts App from S8 to Note 5 Rom?
Thanks in advance!

I had the same issue, but I was able to install the latest contacts apk from here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-contacts/
and the theme was proper after that.

1)Try to put the downloaded apk directly to system/priv-app instead of installing as normal apk by following short-guide
2)By using any root explorer go to path system/priv-app and you will find folder like SamsungContacts80 (In case of various Ports And Roms the folder name should be different, so remember to rename the downloaded apk as the same you will find within this folder)> Now within folder there is SamsungContacts80.apk (The name of apk should be same as folder name always)> Now Download S8+ Contacts App And Rename the downloaded S8+ Contacts.apk to the same you found in system/priv-app/SamsungContacts Folder> Delete the old N5 SamsungContacts.apk from system/priv-app/SamsungContacts folder> Copy/paste the Downloaded and Renamed S8+ Contacts.apk to the system/priv-app/SamsungContacts folder> set right permission like rw- r-- r-- (Octal Value Should Be 644)> Reboot device
3)You should now have S8+ Contacts app on Your Note5 running N5 base custom rom

I tried directly on installing on Note 5 it won't install says there is a conflicting package. There is no system folder either.

Download Android Market 3.3.12 here
If normal installation didn't work out well for you, use the method below.
Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method
1. Download the apk file from the above link to your sd card.
2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app
3. Mount the system to r/w.
4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1
5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app & rename it to Vending.apk
6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions
7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....
Alot of nice improvements. This is what 3.x should have always been!

I think you need to replace Vending.apk. First you try to install like a normal application, if it doesn't then replace your Vending.apk (it might install as an update).
I just installed the apk from Dropbox and it worked perfectly.
You shouldn't need to replace in /system/app manually

Doesn't seem to want to work. I extracted the RAR to make the bootanimation.zip file, put it into /system/media, change the permissions, reboot, and get a black screen where there should be a boot animation. Does the same thing when I try to install it via AOKP's boot animation installer too.
Hello!
I extracted the new Android Emoji font from the 6.0.1 update that rolled out today for Nexus devices.
Should work on any device running 5.0+, just replace NotoColorEmoji.ttf in /system/fonts with the one attached here and change permissions to rw-r-r.
This is not a flashable zip, I can't be bothered making one but if anyone wants to, post it here and I'll link to it.
Enjoy! :good:

Quick question: my tablet, the galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, currently has stock lagwiz 5.1.1. According to the OP the new emoji's should work, however, for some reason, lagwiz 5.1.1 uses the KitKat emoji's. So would it work on my tablet?
Edit: It works!
Don't work for me, I see the same emojis only add three o four emojis new
Why does it keep telling me that Move task failed
Works great on Note 3 SM-N900A on Kitkat 4.4.2. Some of the emojis are kinda squished together but I can get pasted it. Thanks!

Searched for "emoji" in /system/fonts, and found two results:
-NoToColorEmoji.ttf
-SamsungColorEmoji.ttf
I replaced the former. You're saying that I should rename the attached file to "SamsungColorEmoji.ttf" and do the same thing right?

- Copied latinimegoogle folder with same permission as other folders to System/App
Restarted phone, successful restart but no Marshmallow Keyboard
Second try:
- Re-copied latinimegoogle folder to System/App with default permissions

Hey, this is my first post and I know almost nothing about development but I am pretty fluent in After Effects.
I had the AOSPA ROM installed for a day or two and was not really happy with it. Except for the Bootanimation
That's why I decided to make a custom Bootanimation for my 6P (it is 1440 x 403 /30fps) and I thought I might share it with you guys.
Here is a gif of the animation itself:

(This preview has my personal Logo in it at the end. There is a logo-free version avaitable as well. If you want your own Logo instead, contact me!
If you want to use it, you obviously need a rooted phone (or at least TWRP).
How to install in a Root File Explorer (e.g. Es File Explorer):
1. Download the Bootanimation.zip
2. Navigate to /system/media
3. Paste the Bootanimation.zip there and set permissions to rw- r-- r--
4. Reboot to see your new Bootanimation
If you got any Problem with moving the file and setting permissions in Andoid Nougat 7.0 follow the steps down below
How to install in a Custom Recovery:
1. Reboot into TWRP
2. Go to "Mount", Select "System" and go back
3. Select "Advanced" and "File Manager"
4. Navigate to the location of the "bootanimation.zip" you've downloaded, select it and press "Copy File" (You might find the Download folder in /sdcard)
5. Navigate to /system/media and press the "paste" (bottom right) button
6. Select the pasted "bootanimation.zip" and choose "chmod"
7. Type in "0644" to set the permissions to "rw- r-- r--", swipe to confirm
8. Select "Reboot System" to see your new Bootanimation
