Introduction
Red Wolf Recovery is alternatovní recovery based on the source code TWRP.
The main objective of the Red Wolf Recovery is to provide the features that were for some reasonrefusedto add to the official source code Winu Team (besides the maximum utilization of hardware options that device ...).
Hence Recovery supports password protection, since Team Win rejected this method of security because users generally do not read any kind of warning, then it was just a mistake on the part of Team Winu that somebody got into the facility despite a recovery password protected.
For this reason, therefore, I warn that the red wolf is secured in such a way that nobody could get into recovery without the user's password, but no recovery willnot safeguardagainst reinstall the device via Flash or Mi fastboot. So please take a note!
Acknowledgments:
Ray Li: For his help in modifying the source code TWRP.
osm0sis: In the video below scripts which also runs most of the functions recovery.
z31s1g: For the base material. theme.
And all the other developers of the various scripts and installation files as Chanfire, topjohnwu, cofface, etc
Features recovery:
- Brightness can be reduced to a minimum fair value. (TWRP only supports a minimum of 10% Brightness).
- Support for more than 50 sections (including "subsections").
- Possibility of installation of paintings in section Modem and Boot Logos.
- Adjusted ADB - for security reasons already does not start automatically at boot recovery, but now it turns in the recovery
- Recovery allows you to set and remove a password
- Torch phone is now going to turn right in Recovery
- Automatically Block stock recovery
- Recovery contains settings regarding Governor where recovery is currently running. If, therefore, not in a hurry, so just switch to performance and processes such as backup, restore or installation will be up almost 20% faster.
- When you confirm the installation file on the screen appears and warnings checkbox for the finished installation. This recovery will automatically notify the completed installation using the notification LED.
- For safety reasons deactivated TWRP theme engine.
- Official TWRP application was replaced for Snap Camera HDR.
- Access to the folder with zálohama and setting recovery is blocked. Access to these files is only possible from the recovery. (This is only an internal storage)
- The first recovery that is built on OMNI ROM code purely for Kate.
- Folder screenshotama of recovery has been moved to /sdcard/WOLF.res to already screenshots of recovery are not confused with the other screenshotama ..
- Updated Czech translation - Slovak translation can be translated from the strings provided below.
- new terminal supports three commands: unpackbootimg, mkbootimg and zipper (so they may also be retrieved from the script, of course).
- Recovery supports Tap To Wake Engine (dt2w is not supported yet ...)
- Support for "night mode".
- Built AromaFM supports Czech language.
- User can set custom name for the folder backup & ID at the ADB.
- Create backup can also be erased at once (not therefore been deleted one by one as it is in ofiko TWRP).
- Recovery is assembled on AOSP 7.1.2 / TWRP 3.1.1-0 / Omni 7.1.2.
Built-in installation files:
Supers
Magisk
Nitrogen UNROOT
substrates Rescue
Deactivation dm-verity
substrates Rescue Legacy
- Built-in scripts community:
Fix-fp-scanner (script to fix the fingerprint reader if the ROM reports "hardware can not be found")
ramdisk- cleaner (the script automatically cleans content boot from custom kernels and thus need not be renewed when switching to a different kernel stock kernel. However, the script still only supports ElementalX kernel, Radon kernel and Franco kernel.Warning: After cleaning the content boot must just to flash a new kernel - certainly attempt to restart the device to the system !!)
rm-pass(script to remove security currently installed ROM.)
NOS-before-flash-other-kernel(script recently found on 4PDA - deactivates the post-script Nitrogen boot ROM and thus allows better compatibility custom kernel).
Community scripts can thus be understandable added community. If you have your script / tip on a script about it here let me know.
Known Bugs
- The search engine of the camera HDR Snap is momentary assembly inoperable. TWRP still finds the application and if the application is installed TWRP and even prevents installation Snap CAMERA HDR.
The problem is mainly that I do not have complete access to that search engine - probably even if I somehow repaired and recovery will still prefer ofiko TWRP search application. So it probably could not be correct function ofiko TWRP applications not installed. However, definitely I do something in the next builds I make.

Update Changes
Update!
RedWolf-V3.0_006-Kate_Kenzo
Major changes;
- After clicking on the main menu icon coffee displays a new button "folder backups." Here you can now rename your current folder & zálohama or even set a new ID instead of the serial number at the ADB.
- Clicking on the Main Menu button to restore the icon appears at the top "bones". Using this button you can now delete all backups currently displayed. Therefore no longer need to delete one by one separately.

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

CHANGELOG for 3.0.2-0:
-Fix a bug with the input box that affected masked inputs (passwords). This fixes decrypt of full device encryption on devices that support decrypt. This bug also impacts encrypted backups. Users are highly encouraged to stop using 3.0.1 if you use encrypted backups or if you need decrypt of data in TWRP.
-Add Greek translation to some builds.
Note: As always, be sure your custom theme is up to date (or remove your custom theme) before updating TWRP.
System read only option: Devices that ship with 5.0 and higher as their initial OS are using block level OTA updates. With this style of OTA update, the update script checks to see if the system partition has ever been mounted read/write. Further, the script also usually runs an SHA sum of the entire system partition to detect if any changes have been made. If any changes have been made, the OTA update will refuse to install. Since not all OEMs and devices have factory images available, we have created a new feature in TWRP that detects if the system partition has ever been mounted read/write. If not, you will be prompted asking if you want TWRP to mount system as read/write. If you choose not to allow TWRP to mount as read/write, TWRP won’t prompt to install SuperSU and TWRP won’t try to patch the stock ROM to prevent TWRP from being replaced by stock recovery. The goal of this option is to hopefully allow the user to make a raw system image backup that they can use to get back to a state where they can take OTA updates again.
resize2fs feature: On some devices like the Nexus 6, the factory images include a userdata image that is the proper size only for the 32GB units. If you flash the factory image to a 64GB Nexus 6, the data partition will appear as if it only has the free space of a 32GB device. Using the resize2fs option, TWRP can resize your data partition to take up the full space available. The resize2fs may also be useful to resize system partitions on devices where custom ROM system images don’t take up the full partition space. Lastly, resize2fs may be useful in some cases to reserve the proper space at the end of a data partition for a full disk encryption key, should your partition be formatted incorrectly for some reason.
This new version also marks our first set of full builds using our new jenkins build server. You can track the progress of builds at https://jenkins.twrp.me and we have taken additional steps to make it easier for device maintainers to step up and submit patches to our gerrit server at https://gerrit.twrp.me to help us keep devices up to date and working.

Can someone post a detailed instruction please? I followed the TWRP instructions but kept getting stuck on "waiting for devices" on fastboot. I tried several different drivers suggested in other threads but none worked for me
@AndroPlus Do we need an unlocked bootloader for this?
Yes we do.
@AndroPlus, please maybe you can give some hint. I unlocked the bootloader (worked), when I installed TWRP with fastboot and the installation seemed to be sucessful, but I cant boot into TWRP. During boot I'm pressing vol+, but nothing happens. Even the LED shows no light during boot. What I did wrong or what can I do to boot into TWRP?
edit: problem solved I installed your kernel with: sudo fastboot flash boot boot.img
and now I can boot into TWRP and LED during boot shows light. Seems to be a really great kernel.

Thanks a lot for your great amazing efforts @AndroPlus, is there any need to unlock the bootloader prior to rooting or flashing TWRP? And if yes, is it simply booting into fastboot and running the command "fastboot oem unlock" or enabling it from the Developer Options?

You have to enable oem unlock in developer options and run "fastboot oem unlock", then flash my custom kernel.
Because of strict security, we have to edit kernel to disable sony_ric and dm-verity to root if you want to custom /system.
If you can use system-less SuperSU you don't need to flash custom kernel.
Restore bug?
I just restored my backup and IMEI was gone. So the backup as such works fine besides the IMEI. Consequently I couldn't connect to the mobile network. I had to flashtool the original rom and restart the whole process.
Anyone else experienced such a problem?
I've repacked the 250 stock kernel with everything (except twrp, indeed). I use your recovery, and it works fine so far. But from system, I can't boot into twrp directly (e. g. from Titanium Backup or NeoPowerMenu).
For any help thanks in advance!
Hi, I flashed the twrp.img, but when I tried wipe or install rom to xperia XZ, I got can't unmount system, 'device or resource busy' error. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks

There's no direct button for it within RW Recovery, but it has adb working, so once you're started up in Red Wolf Recovery, just plug into the computer and send it "adb reboot edl" from a terminal. I just tested it and it worked fine.
I'm assuming you have a functional installation of android sdk or platform tools and working USB drivers on a capable computer, otherwise what exactly did you plan on doing with EDL mode anyway?

... I"m sorry, I don't know what else to say, other than either you're wrong or there must be something wrong with your computer/phone configuration. I literally just started up in the latest red wolf recovery, connected via USB cable to my computer (Windows 10 laptop), opened an administrative command prompt on the computer, cd to directory I unzipped platform tools to, typed "adb reboot edl", and the phone rebooted into emergency download mode, and ran QFIL, which sees a 9008 mode device ready for flash.
However I did also test from within the recovery itself... going to terminal inside RW recovery and typing "reboot download" did not work, it just restarted normally. That is true. But again, it's not an issue since you have the computer & USB cable there (or else you wouldn't need EDL mode) and can just send the adb command from the computer.
I only reported that is impossible to run edl mode from system by ADB and from twrp by download button .

Changelog
Code:
Initial Build
Bugs:
1)Flashlight doesnt work (only on recovery)
2)Aroma Installer doesn't work
3)If flashing MTP build, on boot if you enter wrong pattern it causes it to crash wherein you'd need to reboot by long pressing power button.
4) password protection doesn't work.
Fixed:
1) Vibration/Haptic Feedback has been fixed
2) encryption/Decryption now work
Glitches

So guys the builds and testing are finally done.
As told i have uploaded two builds with mtp and without mtp
Based on twrp 3.2.2 source
Bugs:
1)Flashlight doesnt work (only on recovery)
2)Aroma Installer doesn't work
3)If flashing MTP build, on boot if you enter wrong pattern it causes it to crash wherein you'd need to reboot by long pressing power button.
Fixed:
1) Vibration/Haptic Feedback has been fixed
2) encryption/Decryption now work
Glitches
1) Sometimes mtp doesn't work dircetly when booted into recovery. For MTP to work, once booted into recovery go to mount, and tap on disable mtp and then tap enable mtp.

firstly we need a TWRP with decrypt possible for us to disable encryption
and also the ability to edit the fstab in /vendor partition (/vendor/etc/ there are 2 fstab files we need to edit and remove force encrypt to encryptable)
i have tried this with official twrp and didnt work
i cant seem to mount /vendor as R/W in OS or TWRP my changes dont stick for some reason.
@pranavasri
Thank you for sharing.
I'm gonna give it a try!

Red Wolf Recovery is custom recovery based on TWRP source code however some things are working here slightly different then you might expected. The main objective of this project is to provide stable recovery with features which you have never seen before in a recovery and which have not been accepted for adding to the official source code of TWRP. This recovery is also first recovery on the world with password protection.
Based on TWRP version: 3.2.1
For device: Enchilada
Features
Translated to EN & CZ
- Password protection
- Flashlight(Currently Broken)
- Built-in latest Magisk, SuperSU & AromaFM
- Support two screenshot GUI actions - Power+VolDown to save screenshot in to the internal storage &
Power+VolUp to save screenshot in to the external storage (Will be automatically saved in to the internal in case
that external storage doesn't exist).
- Support automatic reboot after the restore process
- Recovery can automatically modify some props in the ROM directly during the installation
- Some built-in scripts from community
- Tap to wake support
- Advanced deactivation of the stock recovery
- Automatic deactivation of the dm-verity & forced encryption directly during the installation of the ROM
- Recovery can notify you about the completed backup/restore/installation using the notification diode & vibration.
- Support "set on boot" settings.
* Changes for security reasons *
- ADB isn't starting automatically at the start of the recovery. You have to activate it in recovery
- MTP isn't starting until user enter correct password
- Deactivated TWRP theme engine
Some differences
- get out of here if you are pirating apps. this recovery is not for you
- compiled on omnirom-7.1 source
- There isn't bug with reboot from recovery to recovery
Changelog
Code:
Initial Build
Bugs
-Mtp removed (same reason as for the official build)(only in recovery)
-flashlight doesn't work
-encryption doesn't work. thnx to @joemossjr for letting me know

So TB-8504F has a touchscreen issue where you need to sleep and wakeup recovery after it boots for touch to work. Like what @ZONTAC mentioned earlier. I was able to fix it on TWRP 3.6.2 that I built for testing. I would imagine it would work for PBRP as well. It does not affect TB-8504X which is why its not commonly seen. The F variant is not as popular. I have not tested it on 8504X mind you but I don't think that flag will be needed by it.
TB-8504F: Remove blank on boot · deadman96385/[email protected]
This flag kills the Himax touch until you lock and unlock on TB-8504F but strangely does not affect TB-8504X

Your recovery advertises that it supports both variants. That patch will fix the issue on TB-8504F, it should not change anything on TB-8504X but I don't have that version to confirm.

Do You have any idea?
Freshly flashed stock, there everything works, but I cannot flash any ROM - tried both crDroid, RR and Ubuntu. Always same error.
Strange is it mounts system at first... And after formatting it can be mounted again, but than I got error, cos no image is there to be patched, I believe?

Follow proper processor
In your case :- if you are coming from stock , 1. mount system in stock recovery
2.flash pbrp/twrp
3. do factory wipe(or reset)
4. do advance wipe in which wipe system, cache, delvick ,data
5.after that flash system
6. Still having problem try d/f twrp or contact rom dev
Did a test boot without flashing. System starts but hangs on many tasks, even restarting to other modes hangs the system. My device reports as tb_8504x. I had problem with flashing through TWRP so I wanted to try PBRB.
Hello, I got PBRP to boot into recovery, I have OEM bootloader unlocked and USB debugging enabled. I'm trying to completely format the tablet to install LineageOS 18. When I wipe the process gets stuck on "Formatting system using mke2fs". It's been on it for about an hour now. Is that normal? The device is responsive. I can hold the power button down and get reboot options. I can force a reboot and get back into the recovery and try again but each time it gets halted at the format stage. What should I do?

Fix vb meta extraction implementation.
So does that mean magisk v25 will disable vb meta automatically now?

I belive so. IIRC, if you've rooted your tablet by patching the AP file with Magisk and flashed it in Odin, then vbmeta should already be disabled. Magisk, and therefore root, will still persist even after a factory data reset because your device is running Magisk as a system app.
Finally awake. Gonna go ahead and flash TWRP on my Tab S8+ and share my results!

I come baring results. I flashed TWRP and vbmeta in Odin as described in the initial post, and it booted into TWRP! However, the good news ends there. The touch screen doesn't seem to work when in TWRP, and interestingly, when I have the keyboard attachment on, the install button darkens as if I'm pressing it no matter what I do on the trackpad. I've tried rebooting the tablet by holding pow + vol- but all it does is reboot once and then put me back in TWRP. I can use ADB to go into download mode, but I can't boot back to Android. Looks like I'm gonna need to flash my patched firmware and try again when this gets fixed. For context, I flashed the gts8p TWRP tar because I have a Tab S8+, but the WIFI only variant (X800), which is in the supported versions list, so I'm not sure what went wrong.
