In some Internet sites, they say that KingRoot is an application that steals your personal data and your IMEI, besides, that consumes a lot of battery. I do not know how true it is, and that's why I'm afraid to root my mobile with this app.
I want to know
How safe is it, both the Android version and the PC version?
Is there any way to do root without using KingRoot ?.
I had root my mobile with help of flashtool, but after firmware updates, the process was difficult and, at the moment, I do not find a guide to make root with flashtool.
I currently have a Sony Xperia Z (C6603). FW release: 10.7.A.0.228. Customization: Customized CE5
Sorry for my English, my native language is Spanish.

Hi there, newcomer to the forum hailing from the Dominican Republic and complete neophyte in the art of modifying handsets. Please bear with me. =p
My info:
Phone model: Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 E15i
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006
Kernel version: 2.6.29 / [email protected] #1 (after rooting)
Build number: 2.0.1.A.0.47
Carrier: Orange Dominicana
My issue:
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, and recently found out that Ericsson was not going to push any OS updates to the X8 and some X10 phones. I didn't mind this much until I noticed my phone doesn't have multitouch support (which I've been told is managed through software, though I have no idea if this is true), and so I've been looking into the possibility of upgrading. (Another reason is the fact that I want to get rid of all the bloatware on the phone something fierce, but that's beside the point.)
Today I rooted my phone successfully with SuperOneClick using this guide, but I haven't dared do anything else because the guide specifically states this...
First, before you do anything else, you need to update your phone using PC Companion [...]
The latest version is 2.1.1.A.0.6, and the latest baseband is M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015.
[...]

...and my phone has, as explained above, different build and baseband versions than the ones mentioned by the guide.
Before rooting the phone, I tried connecting it to my Wifi and updating the phone software from there, and when that didn't work, I tried connecting it to my PC and running the PC Companion application from Ericsson and checking for updates, and still no go.
Being a C# code monkey, I know exactly how potentially dangerous screwing around with wrong versions of stuff can get, so I haven't even tried to do anything beyond rooting the handset. Is there any way I can get my software to the required versions in the guide linked above, or can I follow the guide disregarding those values, or am I missing something here?
Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks very much for your reply. Time to look for that FlashTool thing.
On an slightly unrelated note, however, my phone now sticks itself through a boot loop whenever I connect it to my PC and mount the SD card for file access after I rooted it. Any idea why? Thanks in advance!
Try enter xRecover/CWM recovery during boot and restore backup (if you have done it).
If not - SEUS for stock software then start again root etc.

In english:
Hi, I have done this test:
1-I installed the latest firmware 101 with open bootloader
2-I installed the 6.4.6 recovery of DooMLoRD
3-We install the SuperUser in Zip format. And it works well.
But I do not like the phone to vibrate so often with DooMLoRD, I just reinstalled the original kernel.
I notice that the LED flashing CWM is sufficient, should remove extra vibration. It's a suggestion.
The process works.
PS For KINGVORTEX: I do not understand why so abruptly answer to the people, this is a place to learn and a little warmth would do no harm.
You did it to me first, without contributing anything and now with this partner.
You're not the center of the universe.
In spanish:
Hola, yo he hecho esta prueba:
Y funciona bien.
The answer was no. Why did I need to write a paragraph long answer?
Besides, if people searched before creating threads in the wrong section, they would find out these things for themselves.
Questions belong in the q&a section. There's a thread pinned to the top that says that clearly - Do Not Post Questions/Help/Troubleshooting in General.
Also, your answer added nothing, as the OP clearly asked for a direct one click root method. One does not exist. Read before posting.
Forum rules.
I suggest that you read those before posting here any more. Thanks.

If the user has few messages, the general forum is the only one where you can post. Not a mistake, just a limitation.
Answers bluntly, I have read many messages from you and do the same thing many times.
No doubt you have great technical knowledge but do not know treat people well.
On the subject of the post, make root bat, my opinion is that developers have forgotten to try this version, because they are focused on the next KitKat.
It's a shame, because I think the 101 is an excellent version JellyBean
Greetings and thanks to all, both those who know a lot and those who want to learn.

Please read what I edited into my post.
There's an announcement pinned to the top of this section that clearly says that no questions, help or troubleshooting threads are to be created in the general section.
Do Not Post Questions/Help/Troubleshooting in General
Any user can post in the q&a section. The only limitation is that you cannot post in the development sections. That is to stop development threads being filled up with basic stuff like this thread that could be answered by a search.
Now, when you've actually contributed something here, I might care about your opinion of how you think this place works and about me personally.
Until then......

I rooted 4.2.2 with no problem .
but on 4.3 I find it confusing me ,because all tutorials are in flashback !
which makes random steps (not arranged from A to Z ).

My C6602 :
Rooting status : Bootloader unlock allowed : yes
I want to root it from zero !
and I`m sure there are many users who want the same !
sorry for weak english !
How to root 4.3.
A simple search would have helped you, as I post that every time I see someone ask.

I still DooMLoRD method, it is like you exhibit, but not exactly the same.
Central European firmware I use standard and manufactured by DooMLoRD kernel.
I'll try to find the link to contribute it.
EDIT:
Here is link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/cwm-based-recovery-6-0-4-5-xperia-z-t2167381
The end result is very good.
Only I do not like the phone vibrates twice in the boot process. I think with the violet LED indication enough, the vibration should be eliminated.
Therefore, after the process, I return to install the original KERNEL. So I remove the annoying vibration.
The root and superuser are preserved.
----
The method I posted uses DooMLoRD's kernel.
I just posted the extremely detailed tutorial posted by Cookie Ninja, as it contains every possible answer to any question that may be asked.

If,. that is true, it is an advanced KERNEL DooMLoRD method you exhibit. (DooMLoRD Kernel version 21)
I like more than the other, only modified base CWM kernel, because I see it easier for users who have a standard level of art.
I do not use the dual recovery, so I prefer it.
Ah, one thing I would insist Extra annoying vibration.
Regarding Kernel 21, DooMLoRD logo is very successful. He is attractive and original.
Grateful for your contributions KINGVORTEX. Our intention is good, give us a chance to those who know little.

Good morning friends, I hope someone can understand me and help a friend buy a Sony Xperia Z C6603 in Singapore, we are from Guatemala (Central America) the problem is that here in the country the phone is connected only internet "Edge" and I have a Xperia Z C6602 what flashe by Flashtool and now I have to "Model Number" the C6603. Can someone help me to see if you can fix that. Well if my Xperia Z runs the 3G, and I flashe your phone with the same file [FTF] and continues with the same problem. I found some tutorials on how to change the baseband but a Xperia X8 then my question is whether the Xperia Z do the same.
Hi all! first of all, sorry for my english...
I always use xperia keyboard in all my android devices, but it didn´t work at P8, and don´t work either in Huawei P9.
Most of versions get an error at the end of the installation, but some other versions (older) success installation, and everything seems to work fine, but when you need to type, the keyboard just don´t appear on screen.
I don´t know what to do to get it working right... and I´m used to this keyboard (T9, in fact), I don´t like other keyboards...
¿any idea of what to do? thanks !
Porting an app have few problems, each device have some small differences which make some of them easy to and in others need some experience to get the port works. I will recommend you to contact the user who already port the keyboard an ask him for help or find another way to install the port, using an apk for example.
PD: There is not "¿" to start a question.
Xperia keyboard for you
Gracias JeremyMolina ... Thanks, jeremymolina
I forgot that silly "¿" jejejeje
ok Zelenko, I´ll try that xperia keyboard port, I wish it works!!

It's important for VoLTE and modem power saving and signal strength stuff to choose the right region.
But other regions should work fine.

My experience is restricted to Germany
The sodp custom ROM project wants to achieve an universal volte support.
