Device Encypted, Unable to Unlock - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hi, i'm just installed Tesla-gemini-7.1.2.RC.v4.3-Official-20170708-1851 on xiaomi mi5
After reboot my device ask for pattern to startup my phone, but it didn't accept my pattern, it says wrong pattern and i can't access my files.
But when i try to enter my pattern on TWRP to access my files. it works.
Any advice to recover my device, or disable encryption on my device using TWRP ?
Currently i'm backup my files using TWRP MTP mode, just in case i fail my last attemp, because unfortunetly i'm only have 1 attem to try unlock my device on boot, before it erase all my files.
Have try wipe data factory reset, and flash other rom but still unable to boot into system, the system still need pattern to startup the phone

Okay, this problem fixed :
1. Reboot to TWRP and Enter pattern
2. Backup your's data using MTP mode on Mount menu to PC
3. Reboot again to TWRP and don't enter your password or pattern (click cancel)
4. Wipe Data and Cache (THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA INCLUDING ON SDCARD !!!!!) make sure all your important data backed up
5. Reboot to recovery and mount to MTP mode
6. Copy ROM to phone and install it.

Can't use ADB because RSA key is not available

So my Kindle Fire HD 7(2012) is bricked after trying to factory reset CM12.1. I took some advice and tried to run some ADB commands and then ADB says device unauthorized. Since my Kindle is stuck at the TWRP boot screen I cannot accept the RSA key. What should I do?

Reboot into TWRP, select Wipe -> Advanced Wipe, and then check all the boxes and swipe to wipe. At this point, all your system, data, and cache partitions will be completely empty, so you will need to reboot into TWRP again (ignore the warnings about not having an OS installed or root), copy a ROM zip from your PC to the kindle's internal storage, and flash it. Once you have it flashed, you'll be starting with a clean state (much like a factory reset), so you should have the ability to set up the device again once the ROM fully boots and get ADB to work.

*NEED HELP PLS*
1-My phone doesn't keep time/date/language when I reboot
2-The language goes back to French when I reboot
3-All my apps show the stop error when i make any setting change after reboot
4-Any app that I install after reboot will disappear on the next reboot, except the SU app I installed as zip from sdcard in CWM-based recovery window
5-The phone make sound when I connect to pc but doesn't to ask to chose connection mode, so pc doesn't detect it even though I have USB Debug enabled
6-I did the wipe data/factory reset several times but there's no change when i switch ON the phone even though the wipe data/factory reset was successful.
7-The only button combination that works is the one to go to Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power )
8-I can only go to Recovery Mode when I try to factory reset in the phone settings. The phone will restart and take me to Recovery Mode
-Odin is unable to detect the phone.
I just think is the internal storage that is corrupted or something but i can't tell for sure. So please i need ur help on how to fix this problem or if there is any app that i can install as zip from sdcard in CWM that can scan or format or fix this problem

Mi5 unlocked bootloader while im on a encrypted rom

I have unlcoked bootloader and installed twrp
Im on global stable rom.
The global rom encrypted all the files.
Twrp cant mount encrypted, therefore i cant format or reflash rom from it.
I know how to decrypt the phone.
Its gonna take me some hours and alot of work.
Is there a twrp witch reads encrypted disk?
If i can extract the key would it be possible to use in twrp?
Or do you recommend to flash rom that lets you chose if you want encryption.
I´ve got the same problem. Did you enable encryption or it was enabled by default?
Yeah it was enabeled buy default.
!SOLUTION!
1) download "Xiaomi Mi 5 Latest Global Developer Version Fastboot File Download" from here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
2) extract this files "system.img" and "boot.img" from downloaded zip
3) flash this files with ADB over CMD ("fastboot flash system system.img" and "fastboot flash boot boot.img")
4) now you have this developer ROM without encryption (i know, it´s a little hardcore solution, but it works )
5) now flash last TWRP and BOOT img for Mi5 from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762636006354
(over the ADB)
6) boot TWRP, skip encryption screen (yes it is still displayed) but now you can wipe all partitions in advanced mode!
7) after the wipe, mount MTP storage in TWRP, copy the zip file you want to your device and inslall this zip over the TWRP
8) reboot, wait 10-15min and enjoy new ROM
I had same problem, in TWRP I was asked for encryption password, I didn't had it so I did "format data" and after few sec, i was able to see sdcard. But of course that will format sdcard and data partition.
You were lucky, I couldn't made format of sdcard, TWRP didn't able this function because of encryption. Actually TWRP couldn't mount it and therefore it couldn't be formatted.

Why download that wierd zip at stage 14 and not just flash TWRP.img file to recovery partition? :S
I think it disables encryption in twrp so you don't have to do the factory reset. Anyways I did without this zip. Unlocked bootloader, fastboot flashed twrp, fastboot booted twrp. Made factory reset in twrp. Flashed twrp.img in twrp (just in case). Wiped dalvick, cache, data, internal storage and flashed my desired rom (miuipro). Of corse I used memory card to make this process easier.
Yeah it worked for me as well, dident use the zip at step 14. Just fastboot boot twrp, flash to recovery partition, factory reset wipe. (data, cache & dalvik) and then flash rom of choice.
Thanks a lot!

Bit noob here, how can I flash the zip to disable encryption when I'm not able to read my internal storage after flashing twrp through fastboot. So basically I'm not able to flash twrp. Do I need to buy a sd card for flashing twrp, no other way? :crying:

Noob read the first post as well the post above but pros didn't understand what noob is asking. Without sd card can we do this? as I'm not able to read internal storage after flashing twrp image, also we need to format internal storage to disable encryption and obviously that deletes the twrp.img file. So my simple question was can I flash twrp without sd card? If yes please tell me how, as I am noob. Thank you.
Put twrp on internal storage.
Flash twrp with fastboot:
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot boot twrp.img
In twrp flash img again (just in case) to recovery partion.
Then factory reset in twrp or flash disable-encryption zip. Reboot recovery.
Put your rom from pc to twrp via mtp (you can do this along with twpr.img if U will flash disable-encryption zip). Twrp should work in mtp mode. And then flash it with necessary wipes.
Its says like cannot add more accounts to this sim card

Can't boot into system only twrp

So i was trying to install Liquid Remix rom on my op3t i wiped everything as the manual and have flashed opengapps magisk and the rom but when rebooted into the rom it asked me for my pin ive entered my pin but it said ur pin is correct but ur data has been corrupt u have to factory reset and automatically boots into twrp and when i try to boot into the system the process over and over again and i factory reset it nothing again says data is corrupt and ive flashed my recovery and try to boot into system nothing boots into fastboot iveand being a dummy i am i delted the system everything heard that u can fix it with adb sideloader but my question is can i flash a custom rom notthe stock rom please help me
Try to format data instead of wiping, either do it within TWRP (Wipe > Format Data > type "yes") or fastboot:
Code:
fastboot format userdata
Please note that all data is going to be lost, in case you didn't make a backup yet (if it's even possible to do it, since it says that data is corrupted).

i already did that on accidentand deleted everything even the backups
Something similar happen to me. I was in twrp and was performing a full wipe(not factory reset), I installed RR, kernel, and then when I was installing gapps, the phone rebooted, and when I tried anything, it said e: legacy property not found( or something similar) and would not boot to system, would not flash anything, wouldn't boot to bootloader, but I was able to transfer files and use adb so I plugged into the computer and used adb reboot fastboot and booted to bootlaoder, now everything works

Backups are supposed to be stored outside the device you make a backup of, keep that in mind for future
