Anyway dialpad vibration can be disabled ? You should not have dial pad vibration if you have toggled off "Vibrate on tap" in Settings>Sound.
Anyway home button / finger print sensor vibration can be disabled ? Similar to above answer, if you deselect "Vibrate on tap" in Settings>Sound, the vibrate when tapping Home will go away. I don't think you can turn if off (at least on stock device - might be a mod for it) for the fingerprint sensor alone (when screen is off - if that is what you mean) as the vibration is the only feedback you have that the fingerprint was read/failed. You could be tapping the sensor over and over, making it fail and lock the phone, before you ever knew it.
Back of the phone heating up when playing graphics intensive games .. I thought Snapdragon 820+ had it solved. Am I wrong ? Did Qualcomm fail.to address over heating issue ? It's not clear what you are talking about is an "issue". There is a difference between heat and overheating. CPUs and GPUs make heat when they are working hard, it's just physics. You can't magically make the heat go away. You can only mitigate it by making the chipsets more efficient (incremental improvements, not huge ones).

If Marshmallow: Use an external app for this. If Nougat: you should be able to take such screenshot natively. At least LineageOS allows to take partial screenshot by holding "screenshot" button in power menu, IIRC.

You'll most likely need Xposed and GravityBox to disable this (Marshmallow). I wouldn't recommend it, if you're not into rooting and that kind of stuff, especially if you hadn't done it before.

I'm not sure, what do you mean by saying "bad". Please elaborate.

As @redpoint73 already answered, vibration goes away by toggling that option off.

Nothing abnormal. The more energy phone consumes, the warmer it gets.

You can manually modify the file responsible for audio routing, but as stated above, don't mess with it, if you don't know much about rooting.

proximity sensor problems

my screen seems to randomly turn itself on and off during calls and I sometimes press a few buttons and even close the call. and it's a bit embarrassing to admit that my phone has a problem. does anyone have a fix for it? I'm currently on jpk
end calls should not happen
the proximity sensor automatically turns off the screen to prevent accidental touch to the buttons
it takes about 1/2 second to react
if you talk normally it should never light up for you to accidentally touch the buttons
but if you keep checking why the screen is on/off on/off
that will drive the screen / sensor crazy
it was like that for me the first day
i was rather annoyed that the screen always turned off, i wanted to disable that feature, but now that i got used to it i find it rather useful to prevent accidental drop calls
personally i browse and write notes a lot during a phone call to look up info and take down customer orders
so having the screen on/off automatically was a pain in the royal highness, but i found a great solution
switch to BT headset whenever i need to check for info and browse on the phone, then it wont go on/off automtically as it's not near my face
thanks for the info!
This is a very common problem caused by positioning sensor overriding proximity sensor when the phone is placed horizontally or close to it. So if you tilt your head during a call the screen will turn on and you could disconnect/place on hold etc. I saw this feature/feature was fixed for other devices by adding an option to disable positioning sensor in calls (changing dialer.apk file), but could not find anything for i9000

[Q] Proximity Sensor Problem

has anyone had issues with the Proximity Sensor not sensing your face properly and the screen turning on during calls? I have had several calls where the mute, speakerphone, or end call button were pressed while I was in the middle of a conversation. I am holding the phone to my face, touching my skin. No space between the sensor area and my ear at all.
It's very annoying.

Yes. The worst is when you turn the speaker phone on in the middle of a call and get your ear drums blasted.

Yes, that is exactly what has happened to me a few times now.
Sucks big time, I had some app that made the flash turn on when a call was coming in, removed that, it seems like things are better, might have been the culprit.
If you're rooted, you can use Rezound Prox Sensor Calibrator from the Play Store to adjust the minimum and maximum values to get better results from your proximity sensor. I had to do that especially while running an AOSP ROM on my HTC One.

Move into shade or bump your brightness up? Sorry not trying to sound like a smartass lol. The only other option to my knowledge might be a proximity control app that can be set to answer calls by waving over or holding your hand over the proximity sensor.

A blinking white pixel next to the front camera

Hello, During a call and while listening to a voice message in Wattsap, a white pixel blinks next to the front camera while the screen is on.
Is that a problem or have more people got it?
Maybe it's normal?
Thanks

That's is intended for the notification light I have been hearing people want to activate it.
it's in display notification light.
Can you guys share a photo of it? if possible.
cant be screen captured because i tried 100s times but all captures came without that mark which gave me indication it could be hardware problem!!
Same here. Some people say that indicator is proximity sensor. If you cover just that blinking pixel with a sharp pointed thing (knife etc.), you will see the screen goes black.

I don't think so because you will not see it in incoming call, it is only for outgoing calls!!

Yes u r right
this is the dot

I'm wondering if that's across all the models?
it's also on the plus models....
I also have noticed this issue on the s10+ model
it occurs when making a call or receiving a call (normal phone calls, whatsapp calls)
during a call, if it is switch to speaker phone, it stops blinking.
during a call, if i cover that blinking pixel with a narrow strip of paper the screen will go black (as if the phone was next to the face during a call)

It could be the proximity sensor. If i remember correctly ,in JerryRigEverything's video he showed there are sensors behind the display which also have some cutouts. I could be wrong...
I see, well that dot coming up looks SUPER ****ing irritating. I pre-order the S10+ have not got mine early like my brother did and others have, I hope there is way to get rid of the ****ing light tho like honestly...
A proximity sensor would be around that area but why does it light up white like an actual dot?
My two cents would have been the proximity sensor would be in the middle of the front cam notch where cuts out already exists.

All known issues and solutions

1. Ghost touches
Problem:
Random ghost touched when using nfc or when nfc is on (on versions after 9.5.1)
Solution:
Turn off nfc, turn on only when needed
2. Echo during phone calls
Problem:
During phone calls people (on the other end) hear echo of our voice
Solution:
Turn volume down by at least 1 step. Microphone positioned on top of the device can capture speaker output.
3. Double tap to wake not working
Problem:
Phone won't wake up when using double tap
Solution:
Calibrate proximity sensor.

It would be nice to collect all problems and solutions in one thread as there are quite a few of them in oneplus 7 pro
If i missed anything please leave a comment, thanks
My RCS is broken. Also have issues with the echoing but will try the fix you posted.
Only random thing I've noticed is Bluetooth calls suck badly yet the audio it's crystal clear. Tried a few car radios and also headsets and it's only calls. Take it off Bluetooth and it's crystal clear on the phone or phone speakers. It's actually driving me nuts

My 7 Pro sometimes rotate on the lockscreen, and then it's giving me this look.
Also, when I receive a notification, I only get a very tiny and quick vibration, even though I turned on the Strong vibration for notifications in settings.
Anyone else noticed that?
Google DUO
Either freezes or is Laggy AF all other video apps work so may be a Google issue but before it was flawless on my Pixel 3XL
Fix for
4. Blank screen. Missing icons when unlocking.

What about this? In support and troubleshooting page in oneplus community we have to apply for after sales service.

Does your usage differ from a regular smartphone user, like using custom launcher or any mods or developer settings?
Never heard of lockscreen rotation bug, but i read about ambient notifications being very fast, too quick to notice. As it turned out, animation scaling/speed in developer settings were changed to 0.5/veryfast, maybe they're connected with length of vibration in some way?

Thanks! Main post updated
Edit:
Added new solution to problems with ambient display - some people turn off/modify animations speed in developer settings.
I was having the screen blank after unlocking issue and followed your advice and issue gone.
Thanks!!!
I'm getting black crush on dark scenes on YouTube and netflix
Just an FYI, the solution you listed for Problem 3 no longer works. After upgrading to OS 9.5.8 the proximity sensor can't be calibrated using the method in your linked thread.

Guys i have a strange things with the virtual buttons (when you can see the buttons on the screen) It is not OnePlus related, my wife Samsung S9+ with Android P do the same problem that is why i think this is an Android P feature or bug or i dont't know, but would like to switch it off
So.
Try to do the next: Open the settings, go to any sub-menu. Press the back button but swipe it when pressing. What happens? Nothing. The button is flashing so the system is recognished your touch. If you press the back, menu or home buttons while swipe just a little bit, the function of the key doesn't work. Just if press and release it immediately without any left or right moving. Of course it happened under all apps like Chrome.... I used to press the back button with swipe because my fingers used this method and on my OP3T phone has phishical buttons so the swipe wasn't a problem. But now it is hard to just press and release.
So anybody has any idea where or how can i switch this gestures off? Of course i didn't found any setup options in the setup/buttons/gestures part
Thanks
