I have trouble finding a step by step recipe for downgrading my galaxy tab S2 sm-t810 from nougat to marshmallow, is there such a thing as a step by step guide for ( almost) beginners? I want to learn but I don't want to brick my tablet. Thanks.
You will need:
A pc
the marshmallow firmware for your device
Samsung drivers installed
Odin
Then:
Save your data
Reboot tablet to download mode
Load the firmware in odin (ap slot)
Flash
That should be it.

What you need:
Samsung Galaxy S6 with Marshmallow 6.0.1
In download mode:
1 - Flash CF-Auto-Root-zerofltebmc-zerofltebmc-smg920xx.tar.md5 with Odin3_v3.10.7 in AP, it will root.
2- Flash TWRP-3.0_MM_S6_by_ManhIT.tar.md5 with Odin3_v3.10.7 in AP
In TWRP mode:
3- Flash xposed-v8x.0-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160411 (check for the latest version) in TWRP- 3.0_MM_S6_by_ManhIT.tar.md5
4- Reboot
If you get into a boot or TWRP boot loop or any problems, do these step again:
1- Re-flash CF-Auto-Root-zerofltebmc-zerofltebmc-smg920xx.tar.md5 with Odin3_v3.10.7 in AP
2- Re-flash TWRP-3.0_MM_S6_by_ManhIT.tar.md5 with Odin3_v3.10.7 in AP
In system mode:
5- Install XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4 APK
6- Reboot
Voila le tour est joué!

Hey man thanks for this, been looking for something like this for a while and ended up bricking my phone, but i got out of it and tried this followed steps exactly as you said and it worked. However I did have to download the files from other places as the ones you provided were dead links or too much struggle. Otherwise this is great. Thanks again
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE ANY PART OF THIS ROM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION
Attention
The rom and the bootloader provided in this topic and to be used in a device where the Bootloader Binary has been changed to 3, devices where the binary has not been altered that is in Binary 1 or 2, it is not necessary to use these files to Downgrade. If you use and come, there is an error such as: Loss of IMEI, Battery Bug, Super Heating, Boot Random. I am not responsible for any errors caused by user error or misuse.
Instruction:
1º Download the most recent version of Odin or it can be the version also v3.10.
2nd Download the files needed to downgrade.
3º Open Odin, and in the AP put the file with the name (bootloaderDowngrade.tar) of the start to start the procedure. The unit will restart by itself. Go back in download mode again and in AP put the file (DowngradeMM6.0.1Binario.tar) of the start again leaves until the device restarts normally.
Note: The first start of it may take 5 to 10 minutes.
4º After the procedure is finished, the phone will restart with ROM STOCK MM 6.0.1, NO ROOT and NO MODIFICATION (ROM IS FACTORY). However this procedure did not allow updating by OTA, because in this procedure the Binary will still continue with B3 and file is with binary combination. But when installing any other ROM STOCK when passing them on ODIN, just do not put the Bootloader of 7.0 or 8.1.0 in the BL option. Only use the stock files as standard AP, CP and CSC.

can i downgrade my on nxt 64 gb with this
sir, am currently using android 8.1 os in my galaxy on nxt 64 gb model. i would like to downgrade my phone to its marshmallow firmware. can i downgrade my phone with this thread?. is the firmware is same for on nxt and j7 prime?
This is a guide to get you from stock marshmallow on the SM-N910v all the way to Lineage OS 16.0 on Android Pie none of the work in this guide is my own end credits go to all respective Developers. I wrote this guide because I purchased a Galaxy Note 4 on eBay, and while I have some basic experience with android modding before I had never used Odin and found the instructions to be scattered and not noob friendly.
*WARNING THIS WILL WIPE ALL DATA*
*I am not responsible if you brick your phone, however if you do you can always try the verizon recovery utility which will download and flash the latest version of stock marshmallow*
Step 1: Marshmallow to Lollipop: In order to unlock the bootloader you must be on Android Lollipop if your phone has already been upgraded to Marshmallow you must downgrade using Odin the first step is to download the stock ROM from this forum post https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/firmware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE BUILD ENDING IN BPA1
The next step is to download Odin: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
Once you have downloaded Odin install the Samsung USB drivers and confirm your phone is recognized in Odin. once your phone is recognized disable reboot after flash and click on the AP button and select the ROM you just downloaded then boot your device into download mode (power/vol down) and flash your device. after flashing your device it will boot loop in order to resolve this you must put it into recovery mode by pressing power and volume up and clear the cache and user data.
Step 2: Bootloader unlock
now you can follow this tutorial to unlock the bootloader, however don’t flash anything wiht odin just yet https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/stabilized-process-to-unlock-bootloader-t3375527 (this guide uses this software https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/note-4-verizon-bootloader-unlock-t3358913)
Step 3: TWRP
Download the latest version of TWRP from here https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxynote4qualcomm.html make sure you download the .tar file and not the .img flash this in Odin by selecting AP and choicing the TWRP file, once again make sure auto reboot is not checked when this is done your recovery should be replace by TWRP
Step 4: Lineage OS 16
According to the post on XDA you must be on marshmallow in order to install lineage OS 16 however I didn't upgrade to marshmallow for fear of losing my unlocked bootloader and it works just fine this makes sense because you were flashing over all of the stock firmware and I assume it just said this because that's what it was tested on. Use https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-lineageos-16-0-t3900807 make sure to download the correct modem file and flash it using AP in odin, then just flash lineage and opengapps pico 9 ARM in TWRP, clear cache between each flash, follow any guides on the original post, this part is relatively straightforward.
Step 5: success!
Everything should be working now and you can begin to configure Lineage OS however you want!
Thanks for nice concise guide. Lot of what's on XDA discussion assume good deal of prior knowledge on the reader and it's easy to get lost. Yes I can confirm that even after unlocking boot loader on lollipop, flashing marshmallow stock rom will put you back on stock locked bootloader. It's good to know that lineageOS 16 works fine on verizon Note 4 when flashed on lollipop firmware with unlocked bootloader. I followed thread for lineageOS 18 for verizon Note 4 and there are many issues which looks like has not been resolved and debug efforts have mostly ended. There is only so much time someone could devote to sustaining volunteer projects such as lineageOS ports for Note 4. I tried lineageOS 18 on my Note 4 N910V and couldn't get it to recognize my sim. So best bet is still older lineageOS based roms flashed on lollipop firmware with unlocked bootloader.
i want to install custom rom to my nokia 7 plus, but have no experience can someone guide me throughout the process?
Hello, I will try to do this!
First, you have to unlock the bootloader, follow step by step this guide. There is also this video that can help you if you have any trouble.
After that, download and run Repartition tool on your PC having the phone connected (always with usb debugging on) and press the 4.5G (3rd) button. Wait for the process and after that it will boot on TWRP.
Choose a custom ROM from XDA and follow this guide depending on your choice. For instance, for the LineageOS (I reccomend this) that doesn't come with GApps you have to follow the second guide.
All the ROM and TWRP images are stored here.
You can find Gapps here, if you flash Lineage 19 download the first image (MindTheGapps).
Good luck with the process!
Hi all,
I always had custom firmware on my phones but last 3 months i tested android 12 stock firmware unrooted.
Now i want to go back to custom rom but it is not possibe ?
what i did an/or tested :
- first download and install official s10e firmware with Odin
- create a patched AP firmware file with magisk on the phone, copy back to pc and flash it with Odin
- make the phone rooted with magisk
So far so good, phone is rooted.. Next
- try to install twrp 3 ways
A) directly with the TWRP app on the phone
B) install twrp in Odin (stuck in download mode until i flash AP file again)
C) create a patched version of TWRP on the phone and flash with Odin on pc again
-> whatever i try, the firmware and files are corrupted after this so the phone needs to format DATA -> Type YES and do complete reset and delete all files from phone.
-> i now have empty phone with only a TWRP folder
-> when i setup custom firmware it looks as if everything is installing but when finished there is nothing to find. phone is still empty an can not be started (bootloop because there is nothing to find)
Sorry for my bad english but i hope someone can tell me what i am doing wrong or help me , i spent 2 days searching and still no working solution
