Can anyone port latest Ubuntu for our device?
This isnt a good idea because "Ubuntu Touch is no longer maintained as a core product by Canonical." Begining of 2017 they stopped develop ubuntu touch official.

hi all
Is it possible to do dual boot on the Galaxy Note ???
i mean dual boot with one Windows and one Android...
i could find some threads in S2 forum with dual boot having a AOSP based and custom ROM, but both are android only...
But with so much capable hardware, isnt it possible to have both windows and android in our phablet(Phone and Tablet ) ???
thanks

if i am correct, now windows supports ARM architecture too...!!!
Well, I suppose he's referring to windows phone that does support arm and not windows 8 that will support arm but it's not available yet. .
In principle is possible but likely difficult to do since it requires a lot of work and reverse engineering from developers because windows phone is not open source software no access to the code (as far as I know).

Pardon me,
Noobs hereBut i seem confused with Canonical statement, does Ubuntu Phone OS full fledged OS? or it's just running as shell (like Flyme OS or Miui?
Since canonical said that Ubuntu Phone OS will be available for all (almost) Android phone when it released, do they just release the source code and instruction for porting? or they will release an improved and completed version of Ubuntu for Android seen here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android
It's a full-fledged os. Not a launcher or modified android rom.

there are two versions of ubuntu
one: ubuntu on adroid
this run ubuntu Desktop UI from android and run with android at the same time....
so it can posibly run on any android device that have enough CPU power and RAM
and maybe it need special modified android to run propertly
if that will be released for some devices .... devs will port it to other android devices
PS. to run ubuntu desktop from android you need to connect device to TV or monitor and to keyboard and mouse, so devices that can't connect to TV will be not supported
destkop apps usulally need much more space than android apps
and second
Ubunto for phones
thats complitly new OS that posibly run android on kernel(i'm not sure so correct mi if a'm wrong)
and it can problably run on any device that runs android (if that device have enough CPU power, RAM and strorage)
sorry for my poor english ... I hope you can understand this
It doesn't even matter what kernel Ubuntu Phone is based on because they're gonna release the source by the end of this month so we can port it to whatever we want (theoratically).

Yes we will be able to install ubuntu phone os in all android devices. Ububtu is build on the same linux kernel which android uses. So all drivers are available for android devices. How ever it won't be a single image like like ubuntu for pc. There will be separate images for different devices.
If MIUI can let the users load a Windows Phone OS on their device, since it is a forked Android OS..why can't we do it too on our Xperias and HTCs...can't we learn something from it? I am still dying to load it on my Lenovo K900 ...

MIUI is way different than roms of HTC and Sony devices..so, doing this on other phones is not possible

Bro its not possible on this phone as the kernel source has not been released by xiaomi yet.
Xiaomi uses GPL like it's toilet paper. Because of this, almost one year after the device's release we don't have source code available yet. Fortunately available custom Android-based ROMs work because the chipset is kinda popular, but there's no WIP for a Sailfish OS port.
