removed ads and put on google play store, now having issues - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I have 2 tablets that are configured almost identically. One uses gmail, the other uses google inbox. As the one that uses inbox is mine, I'm going to have to use that one for the diagnoses. and get it to the other one to fix. So, First, I followed the instructions form this thread the only difference is I did kindle.kso instead of just .kindle for the removal. Then I proceeded to install the app store from this thread which seemed to work. Now when ever I launch google inbox, it crashes, and it was doing the same for gmail on my wife's computer. I also don't get any persistent notifications, like I would on my phone when I use things like Google Play Music where I could pause, play, or skip the song I am at. (I did get notifications just now saying I got some emails though... I hope we can resolve this issue (or that a root method is finally found...) asap. Thank you for your assistance in advance.

another thing to note is Google Play music, and the play store don't see the micro SD card that's in the fire.

Youtube

I've been having a problem with youtube since about 2 days ago. I used to be able to set the youtube app to use my regular youtube account (since it's different from my google account), but now it automatically logs in to youtube with my gmail account. I don't want that because I have no access to any favorites on my youtube account, or anything else. Also, it seems that search is broken with my google account, because it returns nothing, and it gives me constant "No network connection" notifications. Any ideas? how about linking my youtube account to my gmail account, is it possible? How?
I'm sorry to say I can't help, but rather could you tell me how to sign in with my YT account in the first place rather than google? I've never found an option for it and was never promted.
well, whenever I'd first set up my phone and went into youtube, I bring up "Menu>Account" and then it'd tell me something like "Youtube works better if you link it to a youtube account" and then it asked for my login info, after I logged in, my favorites, etc, all was in there
Hmmm my phone only ever did that on JF1.5, I think. Oh well...

Google account sign-in error

I'm on MoDaCo r12, and it has worked flawlessly thus far.
All of the sudden Google Talk started telling "Google Talk authentication error", and it keeps playing the notification sound at random and sometimes very often. Additionally Gmail has stopped synchronizing without any notice. Not a single error message!
I have never seen this strangeness in the two years of messing around with Android. Settings -> Accounts and sync sometimes tells me that "Sync is having problems and will be back shortly", but mostly it just doesn't work without telling me about any errors.
The log shows lines like these:
Code:
W/DefaultRequestDirector( 1373): Authentication error: Unable to respond to any of these challenges: {}
Sometimes there will be methods listed in the curly braces, but mostly not.
Code:
W/DefaultRequestDirector( 1406): Authentication error: Unable to respond to any of these challenges: {googlelogin=WWW-Authenticate: GoogleLogin realm="http://www.google.com/accounts/ClientLogin", service=""}
I have tried wiping /cache, re-flashing the ROM image, clearing data in any apps I think might be related to Google services. E.g. Google services framework, accounts, account and sync settings, Talk, Gmail, Market...
I have even tried changing the Google account password twice. The phone notices it and accepts my new password like it normally would, but the issue remains.
This is a @gmail.com account. I have a Google Apps account on my phone also, and that one works fine.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm about to wipe everything and start fresh, but first I would like to know if anyone has any killer tips on to get rid of this. I'm thinking there might be a cached cookie/auth token or something somewhere that's causing this.

That's not it I'm afraid. Using ClockSync, so it was only off by about one second after a reboot just now. I tried fix permissions in despair, but to no avail.
As noted above, my Google Apps account works fine, it's just my gmail.com account that doesn't work. Somehow it seems that Contacts and Calendar are sync'ed. Meaning the time and date of last sync on those are a few minutes ago, but Picasa is dated two days ago, Gmail yesterday.
I checked it on my Nexus One too; it pops up the password prompt (because I changed my pass) and then goes on to synchronize everything perfectly fine. Wtf could cause this! I haven't really done anything but read Twitter, Facebook and some RSS via Pulse before it stopped working. I only updated a couple of apps that is not related in any way and have not changed any system settings.
Fcuk it, I wiped it all and restored apps with titanium backup. All good now.
Hi, i to have a problem with Google account sign in but its with Play store, every time i try to use Play store it asks me to ether use an existing Google account or make a new account even though i have a Google account set up on my phone. So my question is how can i get back on to Play store with my Google account? Tried by removing my account from my phone then going on to Play Store and signed in with my account but when i tried going back to Play store again it asked me to ether make a new account or use an existing account.
I guess its becoz in some parts of the world youtube services has been shutdown and it as affected google services communication badly. I live in pakistan and here we cant access to google play and other google services as well.

Once had the same problem and until I realized I had an error with my baseband, I pulled out a lot of my sparse hair.
Make a good backup and try to flash new bb, then Google will recognize you again (I hope!!!!)

[Q] GMail Not Syncing on Rooted KFHD7 [RESOLVED]

I have a rooted KFHD7. SW is 7.4.3. I followed this thread to install Google Apps, and that thread essentially directed me to install these apps:
Account And Sync Settings-2.3.4.apk
Google Login Service-4.0.3-239410.apk
Google Play services-3.1.59 (736673-34) .apk
Google Play Store-4.1.10.apk
Google Services Framework-4.0.4-338691.apk
Vending.apk
I also installed Hangouts, Google+, etc.
Anyway, all my Google apps and Google push notifications are working fine. When I install the GMail apk (I just click it via ES File Explorer and I do not move anything to /system/app). it installs just fine. Upon launch of the app, it indicates that it is syncing, but never actually syncs. It just hangs (I waited several minutes).
I tried the latest GMail in the Play Store. I also tried version Gmail_4.5.2-714156.apk.
One I get GMail installed, my KFD will have all the GApps that I want on it. Any advice? Maybe I am using the wrong version or the wrong installation technique?
Thanks...
-T.
Have you tried it with notifications turned off? If it works then, then you're hitting a crash bug when Gmail tries to create notifications. There are a few fixes around the forums. If it still doesn't, I'm not sure what the deal is. It should sync fine.

Well, I installed the latest GMail from the Play store, then turned off notifications. Still looked like it was syncing... then... it worked. I see my email.
Thanks!

Have you tried to login in your gmail account in settings-my account-mail?

Yes, I did that too. So my GMail is now set to sync since I turned that on in the GMail settings.I also turned on notifications (within the Kindle App menu). Seems to be working just fine now and I have not experienced the issue with the notification bar... yet.

Softbricked Galaxy Note 5 - Suggestions before it goes back to Samsung?

So I have a Galaxy Note 5 that I like but occasionally had issues with, and while meandering around my Google account, noticed Google Authenticator was listed as an installed app on the Play Store. This app have have been the trigger for conflict with other authentication software on the phone, so I checked the phone for Google Authenticator, no go. Puzzled, I installed Authenticator with the sole purpose of removing it, which I did, then removed Authenticator from Play Store list but did not "uninstall it" or turn off two-step.
I do a wipe, the phone asked for my originally synched email, password............then 6-digit token . With no way to log in to the account, I can't access the app, etc., this loop is impossible to bypass.
I submitted a recovery request for the email address but my understanding is the recovery chances are slim. Why I am posting this is because I am trying to determine the best course for the actual hardware. After two hours with Samsung/Google/Verizon on the phone, I ultimately have Samsung agreeing to remove the Device Protection Lock so I can use the phone with a different email (or sell it).
Any practical suggestions to bypass the Device Protection Lock before I pack this phone up?

Question CN version in US: minor problems

Google Play was installed out of the box. i downloaded all apps through there.
-google contacts not syncing.
-i get no push notifications like from the Ring app, youtube or ESPN. i did tap on allow when i first opened the apps.
-is there any way to get google news to appear when i swipe left on home screen?
google photos, maps, play store, stadia all seem right.
maybe there’s a solution. i read through older threads and didn’t find one.
any help appreciated.
I noticed that the preinstalled play store sometimes does not work properly. I had to reset device completely. Play services are part of the rom and available right after reset, I just had to download and install the play store itself.
Google Play Store 25.5.27-21 [0] [PR] 375135971 (nodpi)
43.43 MB (45,537,921 bytes)
As for notifications, you might wanna disable or delete the power save app from vivo and enable staying connected all time.
If you factory reset your phone, the first app to download from the vivo appstore is Gboard, which will prompt you to download Google play. I logged in to my google account afterwards and have no issues syncing to all my contacts, calendars etc
For notifications not appearing, a lot of users experience problems with the vivo provided power management app (com.vivo.pem) cause it interferes with how your apps sends notifications or frequency of push notifications to save power. You may use adb to disable it or uninstall. Hope this workaround addresses your push notification issue
i fixed the contacts and calendar (also had no calendar entries) sync issues. i went to APKMirror.com through chrome and downloaded the latest Google Play Store. I had version 24... on my phone and the latest was 26... I installed it through chrome and it installed over the existing app. I uninstalled calendar and contacts and re-installed them. calendar worked immediately on opening. but contacts didn’t. i went back to APKMirror.com and downloaded and installed Google Contacts Sync. I now have my contacts.
to get the push notifications working I went to Settings -> Applications and Permissions -> Permission management -> Permission - Background pop-ups and none of my installed apps were toggled on. since enabling them, I have received a couple of notifications with the phone in my pocket. maybe the vivo power management app is still causing problems because im not getting most notifications.
can someone point me to learn about "adb". I've seen that in a few places here and i don’t know what it is. im a long long time android user since google's first t-mobile phone but ive never had a need to tweak.
thanks for the help so far. just need to get my notifications and im pretty much all set.
so my only goal today was to install adb on my mac and "learn" how to use it and hopefully disable com.vivo.pem
installed on mac, enabled developer mode on x60, have access to device...
using: adb shell pm disable com.vivo.pem I got an error message
using: adb shell pm disable-user com.vivo.pem i got a successful prompt
when charging my phone and having the apps opened in the background (ESPN, Ring, Fast Mail) I do get push notifications. also get them while using the phone with the apps open in background. but with phone sleeping and in my pocket i get nothing. any ideas?
my issues are basically resolved. hopefully this will help others. I read in another thread to enable "mobile data always on" in the developer settings. as long as i have the apps open in the background, i now get push notifications when the phone is sleeping and in my pocket.
Which carrier are you using in the states? And do you have volte or vowifi?
im using it with tmobile. i don’t know how to check for volte or vowifi. i don’t actually use for phone calls. maybe make 1 or 2 calls a year. lol
