I already bought a Xiaomi Redmi note 4.
Its development is fast as ****....
???
Almost Every single ROM available with 3 weeks of release

Exactly, Huawei phones are quite cheap with good specs, but that developing (not devs fault) is really sad :/

I wasn't expecting much but considering the phone has only been out for a month, it has already been rooted and debloated.
We got kernel source, were working on Android M based AOSP ROMs at this very moment.
I'm really suprised at the community response and development of this phone. Great things are coming!!
All Roms are discontinued
This Blu R1 section is dead, pretty sucky.

Yeah it is
Everything is discontinued, so sad for blu r1 hd user.

Amazing geekbench results!

I ran today compute geekbech 4 and I am amazed.
This thing beats an Samsung Galaxy S5 at compute by almost 600 POINTS. And I just turned on Force MSAA 4x in developer options. This is just the stock rom, without any custom kernels or cpu patches. I know this is not the CPU bench, this is more based on.the GPU, but I can't belive that this phone is. 100 points far than a samsung galaxy s6, what is much more expensive and powerful.
This phone still has life in it, maybe even with patches, overclocking, etc. we can actually beat an s6 at the compute benchmark. I will try kernel esal and other patches, maybe we can reach 2000 points on compute benchmark, and maybe even some cpu improve in performance.
I let and a screenshot of the score, too, at the attachments
Oh?! Really?! Amazing!

I am getting the same scores at the CPU bench, I'm talking about the COMPUTE bechmark.
But still, on that scores you have custom kernel/patches?

Stock kernel with patches...
I enabled Force MSAA 4X,but the score is lower than before (a few days before on GB4.1.0: 1762, now: 1652). My GeekBench account: zhaozihanzzh ,you can check it.

Lol, I had even backround processes and I got a bigger score by 100
I've looked a bit into developer options and I had at the time of the benchmark I had turned on also "Force GPU rendering"

Well, this phone has the new Kirin 655 CPU, of course it's fast
If this phone is getting bigger scores than a oneplus 3, I'm.definitely getting it.

I thought you wanted to learn building ROMs etc. That's not that easy with another phone without source code. I'd suggest you to get a phone where its easier.

For me, iph 7 is a piece of cardboard. And it is not the internals about. It's about the system. Too much worse than android. No customizations. Just to get root or "jailbreak" acces, you need to install some no-name chinese app and hope you don't brick your iphone.
And still, why you post this here? This thing is totally different than an android phone. If you have a Huawei P8 Lite/P8 Lite 2017 or at least a Huawei branded phone, or have android on your iphone, then post something.
Your reply is pointless.

Lol, don't panic. IF I am going to buy a P8 Lite 2017, I'm going to buy in august, september, but still, IF I am going to buy it. If I buy it at this moment there are no custom roms, root I think just appeared, and I want custom roms.
I looked all day on google and youtube and, it is not that hard, IF I'm not going to get errors.
Next week I'll start developing, when I will be in vacation.

You can get (almost) all the customization you need while Jailbreaking and can make the app yourself You can't brick an iPhone, you can restore it through itunes and always bring it back to life, while that isn't necessarily the same on the Android side. Does having an iOS device mean I can't visit or post on these forums?
You said the geekbench score was "amazing" and I posted something that really is amazing ( double the score of the Android counterpart equivalent, for real?)
Why so much negativity? If I didn't have a Huawei device, do you think I'd be here ghosting through these forums? We don't need so much negativity mate, make love not war, why should different operating systems hate on each other?

I don't make hate, you can post wherever you want, and there is no war, I love android for more apps, etc. , and I love ios for smoothness, esthetics and looks. If there would be an iPhone 7 Plus with android on it and same geekbench results, that would be amazing.

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Huawei P9 Lite, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Huawei P9 Lite is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.

I currently have a Moto G (3rd Gen) model with XenonHD 7.1.1 firmware. I was interested in the P9 Lite 3GB RAM model as an upgrade from this phone. What do you think? Is it worth the upgrade? Btw I am planning to root/flash the firmware that comes with it anyway, but what are you thoughts overall? Hardware? Software?
P9 lite is better at performance than P8 lite 2017
Well, the development strength is nowhere near a Qualcomm device, but I see OpenKirin and other people trying to get things going which is very nice. Maybe more android enthusiasts will buy Huawei, maybe Huawei will start to provide source code when it's needed...
I love the design of the phone, the hardware is OK, the only thing that disappoints me is that they released a model with 2GB RAM which was handed to carriers, so if you got the P9 Lite from a carrier like me you won't get that extra 1GB RAM which is a pretty huge deal if you ask me. Other than that, I'm satisfied with it.
Will I buy Huawei again? If they become more open sourced maybe... The design is nice, the hardware is good, the only thing they should be improving is the software and developer relations.

Get the Redmi Note 4 3GB(snapdragon not mtk). Performance is good, and plenty of roms. Go check xda of rn4 right now
I learned how much I like my P9 Lite when it was stolen :crying:

Yes, I think it is worth the upgrade The hardware is good, EMUI comes with too much bloatware in my opinion - some camera features and the backup app are great though. The flashing process can be quirky - unfortunately the use of last resort DC Phoenix comes with charges.
Low price, nice features phone!
P9 lite is a great device with battery and performance at a great price.
However, you can go for HONOR 5C. It's similar to p9 lite in terms of specs.
The difference between those 2 is Honor 5c having a metal body.
The software is just something that really ruins this phone and it's potential
Freezes most of the time when using any app, camera takes forever to load. Using stock rom, not rooted.

I think you have a serious problem. I own p9 lite 2017 and it's smooth and fluid. Overal beeter then other brands for the same budget
Don't buy a huawei phone at all.
I absolutely love my original P9 lite, i have it for almost 3 yrs now and its really one of the best phones i've experienced (99,99% bug/glitch/error free).. Battery life is still amazing getting me trough a whole day and still performs fast and "fluid" even after 3 yrs and the screen quality is beautiful and top notch. I find it funny that this phone has all the great features, more than the newest generation smartphones these days.. features like FM Radio, NFC, 3.5 headphone-jack, excellent fingerprint reader etc etc

Excellent phone. Very under rated if compared to other mid rangers.
Have to give a lot of credit to the developers on here. When buying this phone in the beginning of its release, I didn't expect much because of it being so underrated. Root has been available almost from the start and good roms, that could work as a daily driver, followed shortly after. Now, everything I need works like on stock, even LED and much missed FP gestures have made it, alongside with the myriad of perks from custom roms.
Thanks a lot to everyone involved for making this phone so much more enjoyable than it's already been.
Loving it
At first there was not much development but @Wonder Wicked Witch and @Shubham made this device from nice to excellent.
My pleasure @rksayush
any soul continue porting Mokee rom for P2..??

I don't know how this phone is surviving for the last three years. My phone is coolpad note 3 lite. The stock rom (lollipop) is the version available when i bought this mobile. Since then the company has gone many changes and at last sold it to letv. Only because of the xda developers i am using this mobile for the pass three years. Without them this would not be possible. So big thumbs up to all the developers who take their valuable time in building the roms and modules.
