Thanks, and what do I have to do? How do I revert root and recovery?
Factory reset from recovery?
Use HWOTA Tool for updating. It works very well. You need to download the firmware manually via Huawei Update Finder.

Hi!
I have a C6603 on 10.3.1.A.0.244 Generic. The device has a locked BL (so stock kernel), but it is rooted and has a custom recovery installed.
Now the OTA Updater tells me 10.3.1.A.2.67 is available. Is it safe to apply this update or will it softbrick the device, since it is rooted and has a custom recovery image installed?
Best regards
In my experience, It's safe, but you'll lose root and your custom recovery. You'll need to reinstall both the recovery and re root it.
Thanks for both of you
I have similar issue here BUT:
C6602
10.3.1.A.0.244
I have unlocked bootloader and dual recovery
When attempting to install the new OTA update, it fails when using the system update option on the device and when trying to update using the PC Companion, it says: The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated
should re-locking bootloader solve this issue?

In order to update the phone via PCC, yes. You must be on locked bootloader

My personal experience : OTA will not install because you have custom recovery: will just reboot and gives the error on installation.
However if I'm rooted and on the stock recovery, OTA installs absolutely OK and does NOT break root (just reinstall SuperSU from the GMarket and update binaries after the update)
Saying so, I can NOT give any guarantee that the root will stay in your particular case, it's just my personal experience.

did you unlock the bootloader and root? Its not a problem with TWRP. Since you have received the OTA sounds like you didn't do any of the requirements to install TWRP. I would do some research on Unlock Bootloader, ROOT.

TWRP isn't going to let you install the OTA file. You need to update your firmware. Flash lastest TWRP in Hboot or fastboot. I would read this thread here.

To upgrade you need to flash lastest firmware then ROM of your choice. To make that happen you need updated TWRP. The ruu is your OS and firmware, you better care.
I just recovered my phone with twrp recovery and the root is now gone so my phone is not currently rooted. And there is an OTA update. But I can't install it. It takes me to tarp recovery. So any help. What if I delete the twrp recovery and then install update?

You must have stock recovery to install ota update along with an unmodified /system files, unmodified /data/preload files.
return to stock using a RUU before applying the ota is probably the safer way to go now with lollipop updates if you want to avoid a bootloop.
Yesterday I unlocked my bootloader. With the unlocking offline bootloader will follow a reset off the phone. Niente i have a problem: after the reset the FRP option return locked and i can't unlock It in anticipo ways (from developer option is gray). Now i can't flash anything from adb with also the bootloader unlocked.
EDIT:
Why u cant flash anything from adb?
Did you only unlock your bootloader? Or have you rooted your phone too?

you need to return to marshmallow firmware probably its B136 for you.
1.Flash Rollback Package via dload.
2.Flash B136 firmware via dload.
3.Boot up your phone an check if FRP status is LOCKED. (It need to stay locked)
4.Update to B182 via OTA.
5.Update to Nougat via ota or via dload.
6.Unlock Bootloader
7.Install TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/twrp-t3565703
8.Flash SuperUser https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/root-supersu-2-81-emui-5-t3612258
Basically its this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/guide-debranding-to-c432-updating-to-t3551523
But this guide will change your OEMINFO (debrand to EU version C432) but this is not bad for future updates.
But this guide is for EVA-L09.

dload is working without stock recovery.
Hi,
Today I received ota update to b357 for my nem L51.
Could not install it since I have custom recovery + root + unlocked bootloader.
How can I update?
My idea would be:
Flash stock recovery + recovery2 from fastboot
Install ota
Flash again TWRP
Will it work? Don't know if my bootloader will lock again after ota update...
Thanks in advance
Unroot first, Flash stock boot.img and stock recovery then download ota and reboot.
Thanks shashank1320!
I flashed stock boot + recovery and then updated my phone.
Unfortunately OTA update restored my bootloader and I had to unlock it again.
Anyway after unlocking I flashed TWRP recovery and rooted with Magisk with no issues.

Hi @deframat,
I'm in the same situation as you were: from B350 I have to update to B357 and I will go the same route you did. However, since you stated that the OTA update restored your bootloader, this means you had to install all over again all your apps and settings. I wonder if I make a Titanium backup of everything, will I be able to restore the phone as it was before the update? Any drawbacks I'm unaware of?
Thank you
Hi Wallace108,
I don't use Titanium backup because I prefer a fully fresh install when flashing new fw.
Anyway since this update is quite light (only security patch and other small improvements) I think you will have no problem if you restore some backed up apps.
