I have turbo unlocked with twrp working..
I'm willing to downgrade it to kitkat 4.4.4 with twrp.
Need help in downgrading rom except for the flash method in which we don't have to flash gpt.bin.
You sure you don't want to try computerfreek's tweek of the stock rom? Version 1.08 runs as fine as any stock rom. Throw in the recently ripped camera, and I can't imagine why someone would want KitKat.

You would download Kitkat Verizon firmware, flash via ADB but omit gpt.bin from the flash commands. Also if you want to keep TWRP custom recovery, you would also omit flashing recovery.img.

Go down to the bottom of that page and look for VRZ files.
This one -- VRZ_XT1254_SU2-12_12_CFC.xml.zip 1.17 GB February 25, 2015 -- was probably the last Kitkat 4.4.4 Droid Turbo file before Lollipop.

Agreed. I'm still on a custom RR Marshmallow ROM because it's rock solid, gives me CM themes, as well as Xposed modules. I am running @bhb27's advanced custom kernel again, but my wife's phone didn't like it so keeping her on regular ROM kernel. Still haven't seen the need yet to upgrade to Nougat. Plus I see a TON of complaints about phones shutting down at 20% or so, and they all seem to be on Nougat ROMs.

Well actually I already tried all of that rom currently I am using lineage Os. I don't get enough battery on computer freak 1.08 (after changing DPI).
So decided to give it a shot (kitkat) dual booting (magisk)

Hi everyone, i've tested various custom roms for my xt1052 (from cm 11 to cm12), and with every rom the gps isn't working....so i'm thinking that it's impossible that every rom has that bug..... is there someone that have solved to this problem? i read something about gps locking from stock, but i don't understand... can you explain it to me? Now i'm using the last aicp 5.0.2... Thanks
Reflash stock from clean wipe. Get a GPS lock. Install a custom ROM.... Profit?!?
My gps works fine on Eclipse rom 4.4.4

I've been using Here Maps on Epsilon project Rom for work with no problems. Last I read, several Lollipop Roms have bugs related to GPS?
Epsilon and Eclipse are stock roms, Custom roms are like Liquid Smooth, PAC, CM, PA, and others.
And I'm also with those GPS problems.

Well, i can't pass directly from stock to lollipop...i must flash a 4.4.4 rom first (if not i have bootloop)...i had locked gps in stock, then went to recovery, wipe, install 4.4.4 rom and when boot no gps signal....i'm doing something wrong?!
If your bootloader is unlocked, you can jump from 4.2.2 all the way to 4.4.4 or 5.0 if you like. However, going going backwards is a different story and should not be done.
Which version of Android are you currently running?

I'm using the latest aicp nightly 5.0.2.....but the gps on every cusyom rom doesn't work, only with stock.
Has anyone tried to go back to Android 4.4 after flashing lollipop 5.0?
I haven't been able to flash any Android 4.4 ROM after installing. Does anyone have any idea on how to do so?
Any help is truly appreciate.
Where did you get Lollipop from? Is there some sort of OTA that I'm unaware of? Do you have an SM-N910T or some other variant?
If you flashed a Lollipop ROM like CM or Liquid Smooth from the development section you should be able to Odin back to stock no problem. As far as I know there is no official Lollipop for the T-Mobile Note 4..

Yes. I installed Liquidsmooth from the development section. But Odin does not recognize my phone.
I have the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4.
BTW thanks for the rapid help!
Do a wipe in team win recovery. Cache, Dalvick cache, and data.
Then flash a 4.4.4 rom.
I've done it many many times, without issue
Ok. It seems like there was a issue with the phone's drivers. Now Odin recognizes my phone.
Now the question is: I have some android 4.4 Roms in my sdcard such as Infamous v8, DinamicKat etc. How do I flash one of them through Odin since I have not been able to do it through TWRP in recovery mode?
Thanks again for the help.
Can't flash those through Odin. You need to Odin back to stock, root, flash TWRP, then load a custom ROM.
You see anything good in LolliPop?
Well, the UI is different (doesn't mean better), I'm running Liquidsmooth beta. There are a ton of features missing on this ROM. That's the reason for why Im going black to kitkat 4.4

Flash in TWRP CM12 port you'll get the lolipop UI from it. Works great super smooth but audio randomly goes super loud. Other people running CM12 across other devices are having this issue too.

Hi, I'm from Argentina. I just bought an AT&T S5 second hand. The fact that I'm from Argentina means I can't update the freakin' phone. My firmware version is G900AUCU2ANG3. So, can I downgrade to the version in sammobile (G900AUCU1ANCE) to root? I think so, but please, enlight this poor idiot who didn't now this version had so much tweaks (the damn locked bootloader). Then I will root (with Towelroot). After this, can I flash this version or another one and mantain root? Will I be able to update via OTA anytime or never in the lifetime? And will I be able to update to Marshmallow if it we get it? Thank you for reading and a possible reply. And damn AT&T.
PS: It's not the first time I flash a phone. I've done it a lot of times. But they were less complicated (S II, S III, Defy Plus)
I'm pretty sure you can root ng3. Just search how to root. As long as you on 4.4.2 you should be fine

Thanks, I've found the tutorial. And afterwards will I be able to get anymore updates, like Marshmallow? I think no one knows, right?

No MM available for this phone yet. If you keep root the highest you can go is Custom 5.0. There is an UNrooted 5.1 thread, I believe it keeps bootloader OA1 to allow downgrade. If you try to step up updates beyond that it will make the phone unrootable. So decide wisely. I was on NG3 and just used the Odin tar to downgrade to NCE and used towelroot to go to the 5.0 keeproot. But am now on TMS5 3.0.

There's even a 6.0 MM CM 13.0 Rom. So yes there is plenty of CM or other custom ROM but with a locked bootloader the s5, or active in your case, will not be able to accept any. There are only custom rom with OA1 Bootloader based on 5.0 or lower. A bootloader from OTA update to 5.0 or up prevents root.

Oh I've given up hope lol. But you told OP there was no MM. I figured if he's rooted, he should be able to flash CM 13.

Yeah, g900a is locked down to not allow any cm roms but also not cm 13.0. If there was a possibility I would have heard by now. Now if it was a g900v they unlocked their bootloader to change the device to a developer device. Which will allow TWRP recovery and CM, RR.

Ended up flashing Lollipop 5.1.1, despite the fact that you can't root in it. Copied my WhatsApp messages by other way. The phone runs smoothly. Thank you all for your help.
I'm limited to what ROMS I can flash if I leave it on Kit Kat right? I can only install Kit Kat roms? So if I want Lollipop roms, I have to do the OTA official software update to Lollipop?
Or does it not matter and I can just flash whatever version I want no matter what OS is currently installed?
Thanks!
Taking the OTA will prevent you from downgrading later.
I think I was previously running NON-STOCK Lollipop on KitKat's firmware.
Be sure to flash things like the updated NON-HLOS.bin if you notice issues (in the case of NON-HLOS, wireless connectivity issues).

If your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash a Marshmallow ROM but you have to first flash a lollipop or take an OTA to lollipop.

I never updated the NON-HLOS.bin and I'm running cm13 nightly on the KitKat bootloader.
My question to you is, how would I update that? Mine never received the 5.1 OTA update. Eh just a question. ?

You can download the stock firmware for your device from here, extract the requisite file and flash it as you would anything else. You don't need to do that if you aren't noticing issues, though

Recently got one of these phones and I love it, it really stood the test of time and I want to keep it for a while. But, the one I have is running android 4.4 kitkat. I got a custom kitkat rom installed, omni 4.4, and I can't install anything more recent. If I try to flash anything newer than android 5.0 it'll work just fine, but, I'll have no cellular connection. My guess is it's a radio issue. How can I fix this? I have a C6906. It's a Canadian phone, but I'm using it in the US on ATT.
