Best way to move to SD - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, after almost achieving full root (but I screwed up 1 thing so have to redo process today), I need to know what method would be best for moving OBB files to my big SD card. So, what is the best method to moving OBB from internal to External? I am using 6.0.1, with TWRP and SuperSu. Preferably something that won't require an SD wipe.

I think the best way is to make second partition on your SD card, and use App2SD: All in One Tool [ROOT] application with link app method.
make a little search about this method and it will work perfect.

I've rooted my I9305 but what should I do with my memory card?

Just a quick question. I've followed tutorials and I believe i've rooted the phone (EE UK S3LT3) I've got a 16GB memory card included. Do I need to partition/format the card so I can get things moved to the SD card as much as possible?

Click to collapse
If it was included then it should be ready to go, you can store all kinds of media on your SD card but apps require a 3rd party application such as Titanium Backup to be moved to the SD card or you could install a mod that makes your phone think your SD card is your internal so all apps install there default

What mod would that be? (if you don't mind me asking)
Also I'll be more specific about my original post. I had the xperia play before. I folowed this tutorial for that:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2011/12/12/link2sd-guide-never-worry-about-internal-memory-limits-again/
That worked fine and everything moved to the SD card as far as I know. What I mean is should I format my card like that? I know it's not formatted or anything it's just sitting there full of space unused
The mod is called directory bind (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889550)
It's needed if you want to move files to your SD. Unlike other phones, the s3 doesn't offer an option to move whatever you want to your Sd card. Formatting won't change anything. You have to use the above tool to trick your phone into thinking your extSD is the internal memory and vice versa.
There is no simple way of just moving all your data/apps to the SD card, unfortunately
I think i'm doing it with the mod now. I tried to move data with link2sd but that was a no no. That the only thing with this phone it's not easy to move things and what not.

Using sd card as main phone memory?

Hi there,
I recently got an 32 gb sd card but have just realised that apps such as Deezer will only use the phones internal phone storage.
I think my only option is to somehow get the phone to use the SD card as it main memory - will this work? Will I have to root my phone?
Thanks
...also, what would be the easiest way to root the phone? Will motofail2go be the best way and should it work with Jelly Bean?
thx
mount sd
Ok thats easy, what i used was this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928509 (only works on ics) and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123369 (onlt works on jelly bean) just make sure to have recovery installed. Those are for root. And for how mount sd card i used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123369 (just look for your model)
thanks - but I think you copied in the wrong link for the sd card part?
so I rooted and used this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2022727
and it worked...(I see 30gb data through camera/deezer etc)
however...
I can no longer access my Settings!! any ideas!? It just says settings cannot be loaded
sorry..i can access settings...i just can't access the storage part of it...should i be worried?
If it won't cause any other issues, I can live with it...

[Q] How to transfer apps from the phone & sdcard 0 to sdcard 1 (external sd card)

I don't know whether this question has already been asked here but since I'm a newbie and this Droid 4 is my only Android phone (all others are Windows Phones), I'd like to ask this one:
I performed the partition of my phone's memory and split it 50/50 so that I could boot into the stock ROM if something would go wrong with CM11 updates. Not the wisest move since I'm not using that stock ROM at all
OK, the memory of my phone (where I'm running CM11) is running out so therefore I'd need to know:
1) Is there a way to modify the partition afterwards without losing any information from the memory of my phone?
2) Is there a way to move apps from phone's internal memory and SD card (a.k.a. sd card 0) to an external SD card (a.k.a. sd card 1)? I have 64Gb micro SD where I could move lots of stuff if I'd only know how.
And my apologies if this question has already been asked here.
try foldermount from playstore...
I'm fully aware of that app but it's not free.
Any other choices???
well i can only recommend Foldermount since im using it myself and the basic features are free and satisfy my needs fully.
but hey, the full version costs only ~2 dollars or so...

Allow Apps to Write to SD Without Root?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had found a way to allows apps installed on the BLU R1 HD to write to the SD card? I've always had bad luck with rooting phones in the past and I do my best to avoid it, so I'd prefer to do it without rooting the phone. I just want to keep podcasts and the like on my SD card rather than on the limited internal storage 8/
I have used an exposed module to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-marshmallow-sd-fix-write-t3403263 But, of course, you would have to be rooted. This phone is one of the easiest to root that I've had. Google considers it a security hole to let applications write anywhere they want on the SD card.
switching to adopted storage and you can write apps to sd.
also I should add don't believe the box, I have my 128gb card working perfect as internal storage (box says up to 64gb)
also rooting the phone is one of the easiest root processes, you should just go for it

How to increase phone memory?

I looked for topics but couldnot see anything about this.
I have 32 gb sd card. Despite i moved some apps, phone memory is full now. i cant install anything. i cleared cache but still no place.
I think there are 2 choices, make sd card as internal or divide some part of sd card as internal.
OR are there any ways?
I did not install anything since i bought this phone. no root no upgrade no cwm.
Any help?
See attached file for reference. Uninstall bloatwares if you're rooted. supersu preferred. I opted to use SD Card as my default write disk together with Link2Sd Plus. Linked all my games to my SD. I am enjoying this phone setup at the moment.
What are the steps, i cant understnd.
