Thank you
Yes, hasoons ToolKit should work, u have to download the correct Stock Recovery and copy it to the correct folder for the ToolKit, than let the ToolKit flash it.
Easier way would be to download it, copy it to your ADB-Folder (e.g. C:\Android\) and flash it via cmd as described in the tutorials out here.

Hello everyone,
I'm in a little trouble. I need to install custom recovery on my Xperia SP C5302 but I have no PC.
How can I install TWRP ( preferred ) / CWM/Philz on my device ? Is there any way ?
Thank You.
Note : There's a cyber cafe beside my house. But all their computers are running Windows XP.
If there's no way to install without PC then can I be able to install custom recovery on my device with Win XP ?
Thanks again.

okay. Is there any way to install TWRP without PC then ?
or any custom recovery. philz, CWM anything
Install a terminal emulator by Jake Pelvich from Play store.
Extract the official TWRP img from the TWRP fota zip, or, if you already downloaded an official img, put it into the root of your internal storage.
For ease of access, but still mnemonic, rename the img into "twrp.img"
Open your terminal emulator, and enter "su" and run. This will make the terminal to request root, as you're elevating the shell into root.
Now, we "dd" the TWRP image into your FOTA partition. Copy and run the following:
Code:
dd if=/storage/emulated/0/twrp.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel bs=4096
Reboot to check if recovery is accessible after hitting volume up when LED lights up

What ROM are you using? You need a ROM that can boot a FOTAKernel recovery, and not all of them can (especially stock based ones, since stock by default doesn't allow this).
Ditto.
If you are not using a ROM that supports booting from TWRP, then I can't suggest a method to install other recoveries without a PC.
I do not say it is impossible though, but it'll take a lot of brain power, and moderate understanding of shell scripting in order to reverse engineer the other recoveries provided in the dev subforum.

Like already explained by Tomoms and me, you need a ROM that supports booting recovery from the FOTA partition in order for my explained method to work. You didn't also tell us which ROM you are using.
No, you dont need to flash your stock back. Leaving the FOTA partition replaced does no absolute harm at all.
If you flash stock, your bootloader will still remain unlocked. In order to relock, you will need to explicitly relock it, by using the relock bootloader option provided by flashtool. If you backed up your TA partition, restoring it will automatically relock your bootloader.

Hello people
i'm aware that there are guides out there, but i'm honestly not the best at all this flashing stuff, i have done it to a few phones but this one needs to be done just right!
So, where should i begin?, i reckon i should start with unlocking the phone via the unlock tool (i am registered and accepted) and then flash TWRP via that tool?
or is the best/only way of flashing TWRP with the ADB fastboot?

Your thread is getting slightly confusing so let's do it step by step.
Is your phone currently unlocked?
To check, put it into fastboot mode manually without adb:
Turn off your device. Then turn on your device again while holding volume down button.
Plug in your device. Use fastboot:
Code:
fastboot oem device-info
Post screenshots.
Reboot your phone. Post a screenshot of your "About phone" settings menu.

I have unlocked phone.
I have USB debugging enabled.
I can reboot to fastboot via adb.

But when i go to recovery i still see Mi PcSuite thing. No twrp.
What am i doing wrong? IS there some other, more appropriate twrp image?

I got mine sorted out, what you are missing is when you are done flashinh you have to type "Fastboot reboot" and then set TWRP to default recovery
hope that helps you out
Same problem for me, when i type "Fastboot reboot", my Mi5 reboot quickly and after when i go to recovery i see also Mi PC Suite....
Do you have a workaround ?
Second question, is it normal that time to send TWRP.img to phone in ADB is only 0,9s ?

yup. it doesnt, tried it
The only TWRP version that works for me is the Dimenzino forks, but those only boot. ADB sideload crashes the recovery, decryption doesnt work thus MTP also doesnt work.
Any other recovery i try also locks me from booting before i reinstall spark.
I've been hating every second with this phone.
When i compare the experience of modding it to my old Redmi 8, this phone is such a pain.
IMEI backups
No ROM's work
No recovery's work.
Now that I have only 1 IMEI i can no longer even go back to MIUI.

This is the only recovery that has so far worked for me to install a ROM through sideload. Otherwise its pretty useless.
Looking at the rom-lord files, theres quite a few roms/recoveries in there, ill try to test the recoveries and let you know.

well, I mean, it's MediaTek....
you can just go port TWRP to your device by yourself, OR use GSI ROMs! (though, GSIs are very.... general, and so, they might not work with certain hardware inside your phone, because they're designed to be a one-size-fits-all solution.) even better, go make a custom ROM for your device by yourself!

So, I figured out how to fix SHRP and other stuff not booting.
Download the last android 11 firmware from here, get the fastboot version. Flash it and then just proceed to flash SHRP and all your roms like normal.

Yes it will, back it up first
If you just want to root it, get the latest firmware from that website, extract the boot.img and patch it via the magisk app.
then just flash it via fastboot.
