Bought a used Note 5. Model is N9208. Already unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP and rooted. Latest stock Nougat now. I wish to stay on Stock roms always. So is there any way to get AOD working by flashing a Custom kernel only. ? Or its need a Custom rom too ? Can somebody help me please...

1)By Flashing Only AOD Supporting Custom Kernel will not help to enable AOD on Stock Rooted Nougat Rom
2)There need some editing in Framework-Res.apk as well as addition of AOD related stuff within root/system/priv-app And root/data/users/0/system_settings.xml etc.
3)Khongloi Nougat Rom N5 Based was previously supported by AOD especially for Note 5 Based custom rom BUT from Galaxy S8+/Note FE release it was outdated as Devs Released S8+/Note FE Ports
(Also there was issue for AOD brightness optimization due to AOD drivers used afaik on AOD Supporting Note5 Based Roms)
4)So the best way to use AOD is to flash Any AOD supporting Custom S8+/Note FE Port And Flash AOD supporting Custom kernel
(Only 2 AOD Supporting Custom Kernel are available ATM for Note 5 i.e. Khongloi Kernel/LD Kernel)

1)Easy Steps:-
Flash The Rom/Choose Temporary CSC In Aroma Installer/Flash AOD Supporting Custom Kernel/Reboot Device From TWRP/Complete Initial Setup/Again Go To TWRP/Flash Jio VoLte Fix/Reboot Device/Enjoy Jio VoLte
(If VoLte Icon Doesn't Appear Even After 2 Minutes Kindly Go To Settings>Connections>Mobile Networks>APN>Reset APN To Default)
2)Yes i am talking about Samsungvn.com/Infinity Note FE2.1 Rom thread only by dev lam1990
Note:-
If you extract Jio Volte fix.zip and See there are contains only in system/csc and system/etc folders
So before flashing Jio Volte Fix.zip You Can manually delete contains after Booting Up With whichever CSC you selected while flashing Rom in Aroma Installer from Current system/csc and system/etc folders to get perfect VoLte access
(Only Delete Same Specific files Which are there in Jio Volte Fix.Zip's system/csc and system/etc folders)
Then flash Jio Volte Fix.zip too to avoid further flashing errors due to CSC overwriting

After tiresome search i came to the conclusion that there are no fully themeable supporting rom for our beloved s5 prime and plus. Thus, giving a feeling of obsolete phone. So, I tried for almost a month without any support from any developer to create a auto porter from note 4.
Finally, I present my work
Autoporter MM from Note 4 to S5 G906 S/K/L G901F
Now enjoy fully themeable rom from note 4 (of course note 4 also don't support theme engine but it has developers whom did that).
One of the very best Dr.Ketan ROM M5 MM themable. Check features. [HERE]
steps
=====
1. Download Rom N910G Download Dr.Ketan ROM M5
2. your bootloader should be also MM.
2. Flash Rom. Reboot to recovery.
3. Flash script according to your device from Interchage Roms Between S5 plus G901F MM, G906S, G906L, G906K.
4. Flash MM AutoPorter G901F G906 S_K_L FawadShah.zip. Reboot to recovery.
5. Reboot. It will take more or less 10 min.

Camera Selfie mode is not working, FC also when press and hold on camera screen.
Some symlink failed while flashing MM auto porter.
I need SkyNet flashed before to fix this.

Me too usning nougat based S7 edge port rom on Sm-n920g..But as per my information AOD will not be supported until Samsung will release 7.0 stock kernel sources for developers to port AOD feature for our device..And till now no custom kernel is available for nougat based rom to implement AOD feature

Theyre obligated to release it in a timely manner once requested and Samsung is great at doing so. And I can tell you exactly when they'll release it. When they actually release N for the note 5.

Hey developer! @raghuvarma.ya i have a samsung on 7 pro bought in saudi. It asked for network unlock pin after inserting indian sim card. Took it out for repair, the repair guy installed another country's rom. Network unlock pin is now not displayed. The phone is working with indian sim but Fingerprint sensor and many features aren't working. Will reverting back to saudi firmware ask the network unlock pin again?
have you tried flashing the latest firmware for your device? Use odin after exporting your user files(for backup). I flashed different firmware already for G600FY and haven't got any issue about sim(maybe because the device I have is an openline model).
@Raghu varma Please mention the kernel source used.

This rom has few bugs so the dev @Raghu varma developed INS v7.0 (it too has camera issue but got a fix). Luckily we're constantly getting new roms for this device and those're almost stable (except proximity senser).
I'd recommend you to goto the link (check your inbox ) and download latest A-Z rom or Note 8 rom or Anniyan rom.

can you add proximity sensor during call screen instead of double tap to unlock. and this rom have not google assistant enabled.
the battery is draning very fast. these 3 thing only required by rom. on the other hand this rom is very smooth and fast.
i request u to add this features.

The proximity sensor bug isn't fixed yet but devs are working on it.
About the google assistant, since Google app was removed from /system/priv-app/ while cleaning the rom, you need to put it back there using any method [ie. using file manager in TWRP or using any Systemizer app] and it'll work fine.
Newer version of this rom is reported to have good battery backup. Try it out.

AOD service, Bixby and light filter (perhaps) are working fine in newer ROMs. Search for them as those are already shared in forum by the devs. I don't know why there's no proper forum section for our phone. App lock didn't seem to be working.

And i m asking this because i have already flashed nougat j7 prime firmware on my on nxt and its working very well......

No,U can't cause if it would have been possible,then what's the use of giving oreo updates at different times.

you can test if you want but make sure a full back up first prior flashing all posted rom on this thread Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime / J7 On NXT (Exynos7870) some rom will work on your unit and some will not

It's working! But I found a minimal bug on camera when deleting pictures after tapping the delete bin icon the picture still there but when you tap the return button the picture already deleted ? so far the rom is nice but I'm waiting for the next build and hopefully a rooted 1 ?

OEM can't be turn on. If I turn off my cellphone, so will loop? Or just normal restart?

I think it will be loop. As of now 8.1 has no root yet unless the devs finding a way to make it rooted.
VoLTE icon is showing.....but when I calling somebody.......it rings......but when the call picks up .....the call disconnects automatically.....please tell me how to fix it.........without calling anyone can't use the rom
No calling ability fix it as soon as possible!!!!! , plzz dont reupload the whole rom after fixing instead create a fix zip , plzz!!

i am looking for a working LineageOS rom for my Samsung Galaxy SM-J530F.
The only version that works for me is lineage-15.1-20180510-UNOFFICIAL-j5y17lte.
( The SIM is recognized and rooting is also very easy. However, the rom sometimes hangs up and I often had the problem that the mobile phone hangs up and all files are deleted after a normal restart ( no factory reset ).
Maybe there is someone here who can recommend a Lineage or AOSP rom, which works for the most part. I have already spied on several LineageOS versions but unfortunately the SIM is not recognized in all of them.

Nip over to the j7xx pages, they are far better updated and most of the roms work fine on my j53fm 10 Q for J5 J7… | Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)
I am currently running android 11 on my j5 with no major issues.
This thread shows LineageOS 20.x support for many J5. Unfortunately, j5y17lte is not supported.
Can anyone explain what are the differences between say j5ylte and j5y17lte, and how difficult it is to edit the sources in order to support them?
I'm a developer but not a mobile devices one so I'm wondering how much work is in there and how to get started specifically for porting j5y17lte.
