I am using T-mobile living in US. My current baseband is G900HXXU1CPD1.
I would like to know if this baseband is the lastest?
Thank you

So I have a galaxy S vibrant SGH-T959. I recently updated to the leaked 2.2 and its awesome. So I was talking to a co-worker who has the galaxy S I9000 dxjg4 and he uses that on AT&T but he'd like to get some 2.2 action on it. I wasn't aware of the various different I9000's there were until today, I just thought there was the 4 for the US carriers and the I9000 for everyone else.
What can I load on his phone? Are the ROMs mostly compatible between all the I9000s or are they just as different as one for a vibrant vs his phone?
What is different between all those i9000 models, is each one for a specific carrier? Is there a universal unlocked one that isn't tied to any carrier?
If I wanted to get an I9000, is there any specific one that's the "good" one to get? gets the fastest updates, etc? Where would you even pickup one of those? Do they have a model that does 3g on both Tmobile and AT&T?
Thanks,
-J
No dice? Someone has to at least be able to answer SOME of these questions? Where did you guys get your galaxy S i9000s? Some internet site?
The t-mobile galaxy s vibrant you have doesn't have a front Facing camera and uses a different radio chip to support the 1700 (AWS) frequency that t-mo uses.
The international galaxy s I9000 has front facing camera, fm radio support and uses the standard international frequency.
The Bell (Canadian) galaxy s vibrant (I9000M) is same as the international one except the radio is change to support the North American carriers (850 frequency instead of 900).

Greetings and a Merry Xmas to those that celebrate the holiday!
As a new owner of a SGS I was hoping someone could assist in identifying my particular model and if the Froyo OS update is available for it. KIES was not any help, says this model already has the most current version.
Phone info:
MODEL: GT-I9000T
PDA: I9000TUBJG5
PHONE: I9000TUBJG7
CSC: I9000TUUBJG4
FIRMWARE VERSION : 2.1-update1
Baseband version I9000TUBJG7
Kernel version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build number: ECLAIR.UBJG5
Again, thanks to any who respond.
recommend you search around and flash to jpy..then flash either the jp2 or jl3 (part of canadian jl2 firmware) modem all in odin.. then do factory reset... then you may have to use sgs info to make sure 850 mhz 3g is enabled..

Hello:
I have a Galaxy ACE GT S5830 bought in Mexico with the network operator named Telcel with a 3G working connection.
I recently moved to Barcelona, Spain where I took my phone to those phone stores owned by pakistan people. They enabled my phone in order to work with Orange Spain.
With Orange, I got a data and voice plan. The cell phone works fine with regular calls but with data it is stuck in EDGE. How can I move to 3G here in Spain with Orange.
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: S5830XWKP8
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL561786 [email protected]#1
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XWKPY
Thanks!!
It might not be possible if the 5830L has hardware defined frequencies.
Check in adjustments, about phone and look at the baseband (banda base).
Locate the last digits of the baseband to see what region it is (TELCEL uses kp3 which is TELCEL mexican modem, for mexican frequencies). If its already KT7 or other spain baseband, then bad luck. Your ace is limited by hardware to american frequencies.
If you have a non Spanish, non European baseband, try flashing the Orange or Spain modems.
There are modems that flash through cwm and others that flash through odin.

S: the question is simple:
Can firmware for GT-I9000 also work for the GT-I9000T?
I've been looking everywhere for firmware for my model but with no luck at all; I would like to root and update to jelly bean I live in the Caribbean( Trinidad and Tobago) and my carrier is Bmobile. Doing a general and vague google search of the GT-I9000T doesn't even pull up much useful information. All I got from wikipedia is that it is the GT-I9000T is "identical" to the GT-I9000 in terms of form factory. Apparently one supports 850MHz 3G while the other supports 900MHz 3G.
I would have been okay with using Gingerbread by updating my phone on Kies but that horrible abomination won't even recognize my phone. I've tried trouble shooting on 3 different computers with no luck. Would I brick my phone if I used rooting and updating methods intended for GT-I9000

I never figure out which model is my i9000. I see there is vibrant, captivate, fascinate and simmilar models but not sure which is mine.
How can I determine that ?
my about tab shows:
MODEL NO:
GT-I9000
baseband version
i9000XXJVT
It's more the hardware differences:
Software looks like the same.

I would appreciate it if someone using a Galaxy S I9000 in Canada would share with me the name of the firmware and modem your are using.
Thank You
