Hi Guys, why if I do a backup using TWRP 3.0.2-1 can´t use it after update TWRP 3.1? And if I do a backup using TWRP 3.1 the name of this backup begins with Life_Max? Can someone explain it to me?

The 3.1 twrp is a dirty port from life-max recovery, so that's why the name.
Backups usually don't go between recovery versions, without renaming or manually moving to proper folder structure for new version

this is mostly speculation, I have not done it. But these are the common steps.
1 make a backup with the new recover, so you have the right folder structure that the new recovery uses, (most of the time it is folder with device serial number in the name)
2. take your saved backup folder and add it to the folder made in step above.
example
/sdcard/TWRP/mxvrxxx******/backup-made-date-xx-xx-xxx
put old backup folder into the 3rd folder (from example mxvrxxx******)
EDIT:
OK I just did it.
The new 3.1 recovery makes it pretty easy.
the recovery directory is
/sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/Life_Max
put your saved backup folder( the folder that has: boot.emmc.win, system.emmc.win etc) into the Life_Max folder, you can now restore your backup.

Anyone knows how the new CWM backup works? With previous versions when i backup a ROM evertyhing was in it. They used to be 200-500 MB according to the rom and programs. But when i tried to backup a ROM with new version the backup is 13 MB...? But another folder is created named "blobs". And it is around 940 MB. I don't understand how this works.
With previous versions when i backup a ROM i could just move it to PC because it was only one file. Now i don't know what to do? Is the 13 MB file enough? What happens to "blobs" folder? Should make a copy of it too? Shortly wth is that??
I use ROM Manager
The blobs folder contains all your apps. Copy the entire clockworkmod Folder to your computer.

You can change the backup method from blob to the older tar method in the settings of CWM (not the ROM Manager). You have to boot into the recovery system to change this.
Hey All, have google and googled for the past week but nothing specific to this issue I'm having.
I want to restore my stock firmware so I can get OTA updates! I didn't make any sort of backup when I began playing with different roms. I have htc_039 unbranded aus htc one. Bootloader has been unlocked with S-on and TWRP installed.
Downloaded Deevans/bugsys nandroid backup that matched my phone details (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41368105&postcount=375&nocache=1&z=2030115523399023) but there isn't any sort of instructions on installing these.
When i have tried to flash the rom I get "installation aborted" and when playing with fastboot it has given me messages that it cannot find certain .txt files (something like android.txt and a few other ones.
Could someone please tell me what im doing wrong or list the instructions to install this? I don't know if I have to lock the phone again, restore the recovery file first, no idea!!! Or is there anyway to turn the Android Revolution 12 image to get OTA (i dont think so)?
If you need any further phone info I will post.
Can anyone help with this?
When I try to flash the file in TWRP it starts and stops at "Updating partition Details".
What have i not setup right? Have been using these resources:

Hi,
I'm new to the htc one so not sure here but from what I understand and anyone please correct me if wrong - but if it's Deevans nandroid 1.29.980.2 (Australia unbranded) it's a CWM backup and I don't think they work in TWRP.
So think you would have to flash CWM, then flash "restore" nandroid from CWM or find a TWRP nandroid.
Also think you need s-off before you do ota as no way to gain s-off with revone on updated hboot 1.54 yet.
Hope this helps.

Thank for the reply
I have tried to install this with CWM which gave me those first missing ".txt" files. I will give it another go with CMW and post the results.
I will also S-OFF before doing the above.
Phone is now S-off and put CWM as the loader. Tried the zip file again and says:
Finding update package
Opening update package
Installing update...
Installation aborted.
I have also downloaded the file twice to confirm its not corrupted and it opens through winrar with no problems.
Any other suggestions?

I would try restore it like a backup, so unzip and put files in your CWM backup folder.
Not sure how CWM backup folder looks but in TWRP it's like /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/... or /data/media/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/...
So I would try unzipping and copy files (boot, data, recovery, system) to /sdcard/CWM/BACKUPS/folder/put files in here - then boot to recovery and try "restore" option and browse to backup folder. You could probably copy the files to any folder on the sdcard and restore from recovery not sure.

Thanks for your suggestion and that was going to be my next question. The file I mentioned in the first post is x.xxx.xxx.zip (x as the numbers) and inside that zip is a folder with the same name x.xxx.xxx and inside that folder are all the files.
I tried putting the folder only in CMW but wont detect it, tried it with the .zip file and fails. Have now just put all the files into the folder and tried again with same failure.
There is a very long error in the recovery.txt file it made, don't know if its any use but the first line that pops out is:
Starting TWRP 2.6.0.1 on Fri Aug 2 06:23:49 2013
BOARD_HAS_NO_REAL_SDCARD
I put the file into this link if you know of anything, makes little sense to me. http://pastebin.com/Tvp2Qp2X

I have now tried both TWRP and CWM and fails, also have installed ROM manager and another one I cant recall from play store. Also booted into recovery and went to the 'restore' option from the menu but cant find any directories..
I dont know if this has anything to do with it but noticed in the contents of the file:
ARCHIVE: cache.ext4.tar
ARCHIVE: data.ext4.tar
ARCHIVE: system.ext4.tar
boot.img
cache.ext4.tar.a
data.ext4.tar.a
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
recovery.log
system.ext4.tar.a
system..ext4.tar.b
Not to get ahead of myself but HTC ONE is ext2or 3 by default, its not something simple as having to change it to ext4? Its just something that stood out.
Just done google search on CWM backup location and seems to be /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup - so you could try copy the zip and/or files there and try restore from CWM recovery and see if that works.

Interesting that there was no 'backup' folder inside that folder. Have created it and putting the files and zip in there now.
Was also googl'n and found this article:
http://miuiandroid.com/community/th...d-restore-error-while-restoring-sd-ext.15611/
Someone mentioned to now open the zip file when it downloads. I'll try your suggestions and this and let you know what happens tomorrow.
Thanks again
Morning,
Have downloaded the .zip file again twice and put it onto the SD and clockwork Mod backup folder and it has aborted again.
Any ideas on what to try from here?

I haven't used CWM in ages, but up to version 6.0.4.6, the backup location used to be /data/media/clockworkmod/backup/
not sure if it was ever updated to /data/media/0/...
extract the .rar file on your PC, it will give you a folder called similar to "2013-mm-dd.hh.mm.ss" place it in your adb folder then push it:
adb push 2013-mm-dd.hh.mm.ss /data/media/clockworkmod/backup/2013-mm-dd.hh.mm.ss <- replace mm, dd etc. to what the download gave you
in recovery select RESTORE, it should show you the above backup, so select "2013-mm-dd.hh.mm.ss" and restore it.
Thanks for you reply nkk71,
I've exact the file but got a folder called 2013-04-30.10.59.31 without SS.
Can I add the ss as the file type and push it into backup folder on the phone?

i dont think the name of the folder matters, just push it to the right location on your, phone.
Thanks Guys, problem solved!!!!!!!
Thanks so much
I'm unable to delete a folder named '3Minit Download' from the previous user. The folder contains a ton of images that I cannot delete and create a problem when I try to upload my gallery because the photos from the folder update as well, over 300.
My Sig contains the rom I'm on. When I received the phone, I wiped and replaced the image for rooting and flashing purposes. I figured doing so would remove whatever was on the phone but it did not.
I have tried changing the permissions to the folder but I receive the message attached...
Any would would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Use the file manager in twrp to delete the folder "3Minit Download"
and or delete the all files and subfolders folders in "3Minit Download"
Reboot the phone.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. However, when I try to delete the folder in TWRP (2.8.7.4), it says to 'swipe right to delete' but there is no slider so it won't delete.
Any other ideas? Willing to try just about anything.

There is something wrong with your twrp then if the slider don't show up.
You need to flash the latest "compatible" twrp for the Note 4 N910T phone.
There is no official release of TWRP 2.8.7.4 at this time.
You need to get flash twrp 2.8.7.0 for N910T tmobile device.
Here is a download link for twrp 2.8.7.0 odin version and the
twrp 2.8.7.0 zip file recovery flash version in case you want
to flash it, you may need to odin flash it if you cannot flash
it using your twrp 2.8.7.4 .
Here is a download link for both the odin flash and recovery flash versions of twrp 2.8.7.0:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ytmvdwmgnmmqtrq/twrp2870-TAR+zip file version twrp2870.rar?dl=0
Inside this zip file both the TAR and ZIP versions of twrp are included.
Good luck,
Have a great day!
Success!!
For some odd reason, I had to go down to TWRP 2.8.5.0 (tmo) for the slider to return.
Thank you!!

You don't have to downgrade TWRP...
Solution... Most likely you have a Theme inside your TWRP folder, and that theme is compatible with 2.8.5.0... And not for latest TWRP. (so latest TWRP displays incorrectly)
Delete the Theme folder from your internal storage (TWRP -> theme), then upgrade to latest TWRP, and everything should be ok.
So I edited the build.prop and one other file in the EMUI folder and now I get bootloops any way to fix this without flashing a rom and losing my data?
Tried to download a fix from Huawei eRecovery but it says that it couldn't get files from the server
You could try to backup your current system partition, then open it to restore the build.prop. After that, save and try to restore the system partition

How to do that?
Boot in to TWRP recovery
Make a backup of system partition and move it to your computer
Search for the build.prop file and edit it with some note editor
Save and move it back to your phone and restore it
I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WORKS
Maybe you can wait for some other response to see if there are other solutions.

If you have Meticulus' TWRP you can do a pure dump of the system partition (you get system.img)

I just did flash it \o/ I'm doing a system dump as writing this; I may comeback to you to walk me through what to do next, if you agree
If you are able to edit the build.prop and .xml files, just move the dump back on the phone and click on the Restore Dump button
Unfortunately couldn't edit the files so I'm going to fresh install a new ROM
