Network Blocks
If you are in Canada have you thought about having your Note 7 sim unlocked and using T-Mobile Service. They are free in both Canada and Mexico. You should see if someone has already tried this avenue. Buying a prepaid T-Mobile sim and using it. It would not be blocked on T-Mobile's network.

That is so unfortunate. This whole ordeal is crazy. Out of all the instances there has been no definate explanion. What's even more suspicious is the fact that after the 2 recalls there have been no new reports...just doesn't add up....smh...they can go to hell, can't have mine.
I went as far as threatening Samsung in November about sending the 60% update. I told them that I would buy an iPhone 7 Plus if they did so. Well I had them blocked so they couldn't send it to me. At that time they said there were not going to do it, well at least that's what the people I spoke to thru the Samsung + app told me. I even called T-Mobile that same day threatening to sue if they intentionally bricked my phone.
I purchased an iPhone 7 Plus, and guess what, all it's good for is a hotspot for other devices I have. It can barely do simple task that my original Note did easily. Hell iPhones still can't edit letters in words, that is extremely annoying.
With that being said they will only get my Coral Blue Note 7 the day it burns, explodes, or any other manner of self-destructing...lol
Well most of the F and FD versions are usually unlocked anyway...at least my note 7 (current note 7 is a W8) and S7 were/are.
What we need is to be able to unlock the NA carriers versions...W8, T, A etc..

If you're trying to sim unlock the tmobile version of the phone, why not use the tmobile app that lets you unlock it? Device Unlock app...
I used it on mine and my phone is sim unlocked.

I don't think t-mobile will provide unlock code via app anymore for note7
Have you tried?

Hello all,
I have a VZW Note 4 but on T-Mobile network. Any idea how I can go about getting 7.1.1 installed? I am currently on 6.0.1
Beuller....Beuller....??
Anyone have an idea?
Not possible. First off, Verizons version of the Note 4 has a locked bootloader so forget the idea of any custom ROMS on it. Just cause you are on T-Mobile does not make it a T-Mobile Galaxy note 4. Also 7.1.1 has not been released for the Note 4 and 99.9 percent sure it will never see an official release of the Note 4. Suggestion. Get a Note 5 or a S7 Edge. The S6 as well got 7.1.1 recently.
I want to flash tmobile rom onto Verizon Note 4 too. Seems possible now that Verizon Note 4 bootloader is unlocked, just need some gurus to show some detail steps.
This post (https://www.quora.com/I-have-a-note...t-Is-this-possible-or-will-it-brick-the-phone) mentioned something like having Verizon Note 4 kernel with T-Mobile ROM. Anyone has experience to share?
One thing Verizon does not tell you is that you are not able to get LTE bands on a Verizon phone yes they are network unlocked but you will never get anything over 3G... ditch the Verizon
So I have a Note 8 that was originally with Sprint and I had it unlocked and now on Verizon Service. If I wanted to root/mod it or do whatever do I look in the article I originally had the phone with which is Sprint or go with Verizon my now phone company?
Help the kidd out please
Basically it wouldn't matter, as is same HW...
... but you cannot root anyway, unless you're still on BL vs 3 or below.
I was doing some research before I pay to get my sprint note 9 unlocked and i see that my phones version is SM-N960U
software version is N690USQU1CSAA
Hardware Version is REV1.1
is this in fact an unlocked Note 9 and would it be redundant to pay to get it unlocked?

Why not just try a different sim card?

If you're the original owner from Sprint, and haven't paid off or requested an unlock through Sprint. Then you more than likely are locked. And easy way of finding out if you have like 10 mins is go to a Metro PCS store and let them know you are interested in switching but don't know if your phone is unlocked. They will pop a Metro sim into it and let you know. If it is they will more than likely pitch you the sale of porting over. Just tell them you'll think about it.

Okay so here's the skinny... I was with Verizon on my Note 9. I paid it off. I then switch to T-Mobile and took the Note 9 with me. Popped the sim card in, worked great - did not need unlocked. That being said, I want to sell the Note 9 and get a new phone. However, I cannot seem to unlock the Note 9. T-Mobile says you cannot unlock it since it's a Verizon phone, and Verizon said I cannot unlock it without my ex's account information which she wont give me because we are not talking... So, in selling this phone - what do I need to know if it cannot be unlocked? Can someone with a Verizon or T-Mobile sim just slap it in and go? I'm confused as can be and the Verizon tech team over there in some cave doesn't have a clue how to help. TIA.
