You are the one top rated joker I have ever seen on XDA. First of all its nowhere mentioned its only for roms and kernels. kindly read the title carefully " Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (Exynos) ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development " . This thread belongs to other development as it is not a kind of any theme or app or mod. It is a fix for every custom rom out there which is built to run bixby. So even being a senior member, you dont know a thing. Kindly see before posting.

Hello dear @noppy22
Could you please move this topic into the right place maybe into this forum (apps, themes, mods).
Thank you very much for your assistant as always, have a nice day! :fingers-crossed:

@georgedao123
Here is what I found out about Bixby after messing with it for many hours.
Unfortunately the "Hi Bixby" wake up command does NOT work.
None of the developers here in xda have found a way yet to get
Bixby to wake up by using your voice on the S7/S7 Edge phones.
The way it works right now is by swiping the home screen to
the right side and clicking on the tiny Hi Bixby icon or you need
to get a button re-mapper which can be set to use a long press
of the volume down and clicking on the "Hi Bigsby" icon before
you can start talking to Bigsby.
It works like a very poorly designed push-to-talk walkie talkie and
it's super slow and very laggy. It's nothing like Google Assistant.
In my opinion Bixby is not worth messing with until the developers
find a way to fix it so it works properly like the Google Assistant.
Please note, this is only my personal opinion which usually is
not worth very much! LOL
Good luck, Have a great day!

So try this. Install Built prop editor from Google Play and rename the model name from g955f to g955u if you have s7-edge or g950u if you have flat.
Reboot and open Bixby voice

[ FIX ] How to get all apps to display in fullscreen mode

1- Download Spare Parts from the market.
2- Start Spare Parts and find " Compatibility Mode ". It should be checked, so UN-CHECK it and then RE-CHECK it. Then reboot.
3- Start Spare Parts up again, find the " Compatibility Mode " again and this time just UN-CHECK it, thats all. Now reboot...
That should be it, now all apps should display in full screen mode. I found this on the net, so post up if all works well for you. And if there are any issues you may have. Hit the thanks button if it helped you.
Seems to do the trick. Thanks.
There's actually no need to uncheck, recheck then reboot.. Just uncheck it and reboot, it will suffice.
It works perfectly. Thank so much
Wow! Nice find...thanks!
larger font
I used (bought) spare pro + , and when I set a larger font and do the reboot it reset to default :-( anyone knows what to do
Fullscreen all app but cant touch it... you can install Unblock Me FREE from Market to test... cant choose any menu item...

Glad its working across the board

Unfortunately after several tries over spare parts and spare parts pro I can say that it doesn't work with me... Can I ask what rom do you use? Thanks.

[REQUEST] Asus Zenfone in call screen for One plus One?

Hi Folks..I really like the in call screen and the way it handles accepting and rejecting calls. Does somebody can make a flashable zip or something so that we can have that interface in our One?
If I want to port it manually, which apk am I looking at? Does I have to include any lib files?
Please guide/help me Devs..[emoji4]

Which you can't. The play store link for the app will only allow you to install it on ASUS devices.
Unable to activate it
Thanks Guys!!
I got the .apk after some googling and able to install it . But there is no option to activate it.
Whenever I try to make a call, the default in-call screen is showing up.

There is no "wild guess". You won't be able to run this app on your phone without serious hacking. It's not in the Play Store so you can easily install it on another device. It's in the Play Store so that Asus can directly update it as a system app through the store instead of forcing people to wait for OTA updates to update one specific app. HTC does this, Sony does this, Samsung does this. I'm not sure how you attained the "Recognized Contributor" status without knowing this? It's kind of a popular OEM feature of the Play Store these days.
You're not going to get that in-call screen unless a developer is seriously interested in it. It probably has all sorts of framework hooks that are specific to the stock Asus ROM. It's like asking a dev to port over a component of HTC Sense or Samsung Touchwiz over to AOSP. It's just not going to happen. I'd stop looking for it.
Additionally, it's pretty hard to modify the in-call screen like that with an app. The best you can really do are apps that overlay themselves on top of the dialer, which is really hack-y and not a clean way of doing it.

Wow you are so professional, hat off to you.
Im kind of "outdated" in development these day tho D:

Chrome Home Button

If anyone is interested in having a little home button in Chrome, it's pretty simple. I just copied the ChromeCustomizations.apk from the newest COS 12.1 build to the appropriate folder, set the correct permissions and it worked!
I know it's a trivial mod but thought I'd post it here in case anyone else wants it. I have only tested it on CM nightlies (more specifically Sultan's CM 12.1 CAF ROM). It should work on CM based ROMS but not sure about others.
You can either copy the apk file to system/app/ChromeCustomizations/ folder (you'll have to create the folder), or use the attached flashable zip.
Enjoy.

Yes, it worked for me with Chrome beta. Didn't try on Chrome. After installing as per the indtructions, reboot your phone to see it working.
Works beautifully.
Moto X Pure. Chrome beta. TruPureXMM.
I used the flashable file.
Edit
It takes me to a bing search. Why?
If someone needs to remove it. Hold down on the home button till a remove box pops up.
I confirme that works with appsettings 3.13 xposed module and tablet ui mode
Now i have three buttons
Home, back and forword
Great work
Thanks

You know you can change the default home page in the chrome app settings, right? The default is bing because this mod is from cyanogen OS but you can change it to whatever you want. Like the screen shot from the OP where I have it set to BBC.com.

I don't have back/forward buttons. You should ask the person that posted those screenshots. Looks like a cool mod but it's probably due to the app settings xposed module which allows you to use the tablet UI. I personally don't use xposed any more.

This is great. I like it a lot. Ty.
I just found this. The lack of a home button was a major obstacle to my using Chrome as my default browser. Some versions of Chrome (e.g. T-Mobile) and some 3rd party browsers come with speed dials or home pages as a default, and Firefox has an add-on. This is just what I was looking for for Chrome. I set my home page to chrome-native://bookmarks/mobile-bookmarks, which brings up my bookmarks as my home page. Perfect. Thanks!
You're awesome!
I just wanted to thank you so much for this! I've been looking in all the wrong places to return the home button to my chrome! Honestly it's been driving me insane!
Sorry if I double post, I tried replying once already and it bugged out, so I'm not sure if it's delayed.
So, is there a way to add the Home button on a Droid Turbo 2 (Marshmallow) without Root?
Excellent! I've been searching for ages for this so to my great delight I finally found this page, thanks a lot man!
Freaking awesome!
I have been banging my head over this since I switched from stalk is to cm13 one my Oneplus One. Thank you thank you thank you.

RD Client not compatible with Note9

Hi
It seems that the RD client app is no longer able to display remote computer like the S8 or S9 were.
I applied exactly the same settings (including Dex MAX) from my S8 Plus but it is not possible for me to match it to full screen. Actually the application widow is matching full screen but remote computer view is limited to a quater of the screen in the top left corner.
Anyone encountering the same issue
cheers
Just a work-around for now. If you don't require the functionality to launch apps directly through enterprise connections, there are 3rd party free apps on the market that are vanilla RDP capable. Maybe give one of those a shot? I believe the one I use occasionally is Remote RDP Lite: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.toremote.rdpdemo

Sure For now, submit a detailed bug report to the the RDP app developer (M$) directly. I'm sure they will come up with a fix relatively soon since it's a popular flagship device.

How did you report this bug pls? I would like to report the same.. RD client was my most used app and the best use case for DeX, right now I feel like Note9 is a downgrade vs. my Note8 experience because of this.
I have created a bug here, please vote if you have this issue https://social.technet.microsoft.co...rd-client-resolution-scaling-bug?forum=winRDc
In the meantime I have moved to VNC and have setup an Ubuntu 18.04 VM to try and remove dependence on Microsoft https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realvnc.viewer.android - modified the app to be full screen using expert mode in DeX Max.
Only issue I have remaining is copy / paste is currently not working between phone and the VM

on the beta version of RDclient the developer responded "Thank you for your feedback. We are aware that the remote session can't span the entire screen of Chromebook and Samsung DeX for some specific resolutions. We will address this issue in our future release before WVD goes live."
I have installed the beta version so when it is hopefully fixed i will find out by noticing the update
It seems that the note 9 DeX mode handles the resolution differently to the Note 8 - I wish Samsung would not change and break things like this

i tested the other app i posted a link to and it is a nice alternative.
it does have issues with multi select and stuff. it is also a bit costly but when i use my hp lapdock, the mouse does behave a bit better meaning on the integrated touch pad i can get the right click. an inherited issue with the lapdock is actualy left click and right click dont work. only single finger tap and 2 finger taps react as L click and R clicking.

I chose to map a single press using a Bixby Quick Command. It's setup like this: What you say to Bixby "Google Assistant", What Bixby does "open assistant". It seems to work just fine.
I haven't received the update yet on my Note 9. Even went into the Galaxy Store and no updates are found.
I have the tmobile note 9 on oreo 8.1. I went to galaxy store and did the updates then pressed the Bixby button to open the app. Then pressed the three dots then pressed settings and picked what I wanted the button to do.
Yay....
Still haven't gotten the update. Note 9 Pie AT&T

Check the Galaxy Store application. Go into it's settings and enable notifications for app updates and also look at your "My Page" and you will see the "Update" section which will list all of your pre-installed Samsung apps that have available updates. The "All" section is all of your apps installed from the Galaxy Store.

I chose to map a single press using a Bixby Quick Command. It's setup like this: What you say to Bixby "Google Assistant", What Bixby does "open assistant". It seems to work just fine.

Mine opens regular Google app when I do that, but I downloaded a modified assistant shortcut listed on Reddit. Works perfectly. Thank mate

Am I the only one that doesn't appreciate some noisy bugger popping up to ask me questions? Feels like having microsoft clippy on your phone.

What?
Step in the right direction, but you are forced to enable the single press of the button (either to bixby or app action) and this is not good as it will lead to unwanted app/bixby launches.

There is a way. Just install the google assistant launcher application from the link below and that's all.

Double tap power for camera.
Any way to get the screenshot with single press Bixby button. I tried but it gives me a voice command and when screenshot is taken you can see "take a screenshot " message on the top of the screenshot. Any workaround?
Hi,
Is there a way I can remap the Bixby Key to toggle b/w silent & loud on off screen?
