As per title, i cant figure this out. My carrier seems to only be getting the Samsung ATIV S, and i use turn-by-turn alot on my Android device. Im worried about losing too many features such as Turn by turn, and a proper notification center?
Second question, how do WP8 users see notifications, do they have to open the app to check?

Nokia announced that they would provide Nokia Drive for other OEMs as well but it is up to those wether they will deploy it through the Marketplace. Currently we don't know for sure bit I guess the feature will show up.
For Notifications there are PopUp Messages at the top of the screen (Toast-Notifications) but unlike Android they vanish from there after a set time (a few seconds). Aside from that there are Tile notifications. Depending on the App that can range from simple counters (which can also be configured to be shown on the Lock screen (but a limit numberbpf apps can reside there at the same time)) to textual representations or full images. Those show up on Tiles that are pinned to the start screen.
Concerning the Turn-by-Turn functionality I would suggest to wait until we have a statement by HTC and Samsung on the situation.
No voice turn by turn on any WP8 device except Nokia.

Nokia Drive is coming to all Windows Phone 8 devices if other manufacturers/carriers choose to offer it.
Nokia Drive+ is exclusive to Lumia devices and has some fancy features and enhancements.

On the Nokia Drive + BETA app as it is listed, I went to download the USA map, and it was 2.4GB. I cancelled the download and just got Indiana instead. That was 140MB. It does warn/maybe require to download maps over WiFi rather than using cell data.
There are several turn by turn GPS apps in the marketplace. None of them really stack up to Google Maps on Android - or Nokia Drive on Lumias for that matter. But as other have said, Nokia is making Drive available to others.
As far as a notification center goes, thats a questions that always makes me grin. Your entire homescreen is a notification center really. If youd like a more centralized place for all of your social media updates and such, you can pin yourself to a tile. Then your "me" tile will auto update with all of your personal notifications.
I don't understand how OEMs get a say in what you can install from the Windows Phone Store. Either Nokia Drive goes in the store or of doesn't. What am I missing?
Cant we grab the XAP file. I have the xap for drive 3 but it is having issues with the signature but could we not resign it with a test one?

Nokia Drive is good, and you should be happy with it when it goes live for other devices. It's not as good as Google Maps, but I expect it will be getting better quickly. The only two real drawbacks to Nokia Drive is that it does not show an mage of your destination when you arrive, and the blocks are empty of buildings. Other than that it gives timely notice of when to turn, runs happily when gps signal drops, warns you when you speed, and is responsive when you pan around on the map.
The notification center is sadly missed. Hopefully something like it will be quickly implemented. What is even more missed is the quick setting in the notifications menu, or a quick settings tile.
Love comments about the lack of a notification being a good thing because the main screen is a notification centre. What nonsense. What is the point of toast notifications if you don't have a notification centre? There isn't one.... Its a major omission and yet ms find time to add rubbish like kids corner that is good for how many people? Microsoft really need to get a grip.

There are carrier- and OEM-specific subsections of the store, where they can release their own apps only to users of their phones. Nokia could, if they chose, let other OEMs offer Drive in their sections of the Store as well, rather than releasing it in the public area.

Kids Corner is a distinguishing feature that will sell phones. A notification center is a nice touch that people won't notice until after they've been using it for a while. Microsoft is prioritizing the former.
A notification center would be quite welcome - I will be quite happy if they add it. But I will say that all my messages/emails/etc. show up on tile counts anyway, so the point of a toast there is just instantaneous notification of what's going on right now. Once it's not immediate any longer, I'll still see the tile count/lockscreen notification. That doesn't apply to things like Foursquare checkins via 4th & Mayor, but that's about the only app I can think of that pops up toasts at me without also throwing a tile count on there, and I don't necessarily need a log of all my friends' past checkins. That's not to say I don't want to see a notification center, but it's really at the level of an extra that would be nice to have, but that I only rarely miss not having.

I for one am very pleased with the lack of a notification center. It was unnecessary on Android with counters, and I find it unnecessary on WP7 and WP8.
There are other phones that offer it and if you need it then you go with one of them. I left Android after 3 years to get away from the clutter, the flash-a-holic I became, constant adjustment of my home screen, etc. I just wanted clean and usable - exactly what WP is. My favorite part...all the apps look like they belong! Android apps were all over the map in design.

Dear Ludogris, I think you should have stuck to Windows Mobile 6.5....
the windows phone team has admitted that a notification center is on their list of things to implement but they simply ran out of time with wp8, it will probably come in an 8.5 or similar update. while the system works okay without one, a catch all would be nice to be able to glance at in case you miss a toast.
as for the OP, like others have stated, nokia has stated they will release their drive app to the whole ecosystem with some extra features in the drive+ app being exclusive to their lumia line.
i love the addition of the tts for street names they added to the new app, and the new speech in wp8 is so much nicer than the siri sounding one in wp 7.5, more like the natural speech that is in google now.
how did a Nokia Drive thread turn into a notifications request thread? Seriously, though, i got HTC8x for family members to replace their HD7 (tmobile upgrades, I thought they'd be more familiar with HTC instead of the lumia810, wrong choice?). I myself am using Android/HD2, and know nothing about WP7/8, and just rely on threads like this to update my other phones. nevermind, somebody wake me up when the htc 8x gets nokia drive or some flavor of it... subscribed.
on a side note, anyone know how to move the SMS Texts and call history from WP7(HD7) to WP8(htc8x) ? stock phones, no dev unlock, so I'm relying solely on the marketplace and whatever free desktop sync MS has to offer. doesn't seem possible via skydrive either. oh, i don't have outlook on the desktop, if that matters. wish I could just use PIMbackupCAB like on my trusted hd2... why did microsoft have to mess with a good thing? pardon me, i digress. carry on... so, how did you guys migrate your SMS?
Bad news: you don't - not from WP7.
Good news: starting in WP8, the phone will back them up to the cloud, so it'll be seamless going forward.

Hi all,
I am creating this thread so that we can investigate what can and what cannot be done with the iPhone & Gear combination.
Let me first describe my experience so far, for anyone who may be interested. So let's say you want to use the Gear with your iPhone:
First of all you need to have null ROM on the Gear (see respective thread). I have null 15.
You go to full settings and then bluetooth and make the watch discoverable.
Then you go to the iPhone and search for devices (not the other way around).
What works:
1) Basic BT handsfree functionality.
They couple OK and this is it. You have a glorified 300 euro BT handsfree in the shape of a wristwatch!
2) Internet tethering via BT.
If your iPhone carrier settings do support tethering you can also tether the Gear via BT to the iPhone. I have seen that the tethering process works but unfortunately i was in an area of no signal when i did the test (don't have an iPhone right now) so there is no hard evidence. I mean i did not see a webpage loading but i think that tethering is actually device independent. Someone please confirm.
What doesn't work:
1) Notifications (which renders the added value of the whole smartwatch concept kind of questionable)
2) An automated or even manual (but no PC/cloud involved) way to transfer photos/vids taken with the Gear camera to the iPhone.
3) Caller ID with name. I have extensively tried this with both an iPhone 4 and a 5S both on iOS7 and both not jailbroken and when a call is received i only saw the number even if the caller was in the contact list of the iPhone and the native contact list on the Gear itself.
I am searching for a solution for bullets 2 and 3, since i will swap my S4 for a 5S very soon but i do intend to keep the Gear for the time being.
Any comment/personal experience/help will be greatly appreciated.
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
As of June 11, 2014 XDA member @Accounti provided the first (and only so far) solution, regarding iPhone & Gear cooperation.
Ladied and Gents, please welcome CloudNotifier Cydia tweak.
All notifications from jailbroken iPhone can be sent via Web to the Gear (and many other devices, as it is web based). It is not a direct BT connection, therefore NULL ROM is required so that BT tethering is enabled.
I would like to personally congratulate @Accounti for his work and kindly ask that relative posts are done in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784802
Please let us continue in this thread regarding the iPhone & Gear connection methods.
i tested everything all the day. I can confirm, it works, tethering it's fine, browsing, play store access, email, also I installed Whatsapp and using it.
A problem with this, after some minuts the internet connection become "on demand" so if you receive for example a whatsapp message you don't receive immediately the notification but you will receive the first time you connect to something (for example browsing a page or sending an email).
I'm searching a way to keep internet connection alive or to wake it every 15 minutes just to have live messaging with whatsapp.
I can confirm the problem with the caller Id, i think the problem it's that the iPhone does not push contacts to gear when you pair, and when a call comes the gear look not in the contacts list but in the pairing contacts, that is empty...
---------- Post added at 01:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:13 AM ----------
Another problem, set every volume in gear to zero, only vibrating, iPhone is in silent mode to, when a call comes the Gear makes the ringtone anyway. It's a bad problem for me cause i can't use ringtone at work...
NZ, you do realize all this device needs is an app to communicate with. It is completely possible to make the Gear work with an iPhone.
Someone with some decent IOS App writing skills could make this work.
Stop filling this thread with your nonsense.

@gidi, did you try bluetooth transfering your files to your iPhone from the Gear ?
Not sure iOS supports bluetooth file transfers, but it should work.. along with bluetooth sharing contacts I believe, I activated that service too

@fOmey unfortunately i do not have an iPhone right now. Maybe will have the 5S within the day and then i will test and get back to the thread.
However, BT file transfer is a no go on an iPhone that is not jailbroken. Truth is that iOS 7 is a little more relaxed compared to older iOSs but i cannot confirm anything.
With a JB iPhone it may be a totally different story, however. There is tweak called BTnotificationenabler that transfers ALL push notifications through BT.
Could you please check what the profiles that the Gear supports are? Also, could you add more profiles, just in case?
Thank you dude!

That's a shame about the bluetooth transfer, although ! The bluetooth notifications is quite interesting.
What profile do you require for the bluetooth notifications ? As for adding new profiles.. I can activate additional services which have been included already, although it's kind of hit and miss if they will work ! .. If it's some weird proprietary services sadly no.
I have included majority of the useful ones already..
Hi Everyone,
I did a little thread cleaning. I think that this thread is perfect for xda. Although xda usually doesn't support iPhone development, I think most of the development here will need to be done on the Galaxy Gear side. As long as people are willing to help and test ideas, I say go for it!
Thanks!

fOmey i will search a little and get back to you.
I will alsotry to get in touch with a dev who has managed to make wonders with iPhone and Pebble.
Thing is, if some basic functionality can be achieved, then the Gear market will truly expand. There are many iPhone users who would love to use the Gear.
UPDATE: It might also be worth it if you could take a look at this: http://support.imwatch.it/downloads/
I have used the imwatch in the past and it can work both with iOS and Android.
Appart from the tethering function, i remember that when pairing with iPhone a special BT profile (do not remember it's name) was utilised that allowed the imwatch to download the whole iPhone contact list over BT.
Actually the Gear is all the imwatch was ever hoping to be and maybe some more!

Good idea Man! Look into the I'm Watch firmware is good, the profile used for sms is the Message Access Profile (MAP).
No way to save contacts manually, the Gear see it as empty. Is there a possibility to modify directly the contact file?
fOmey maybe you know witch is the right file
Just talked to fOmey in the chatroom of his website.
I informed him that jb for iOS 7 is out.
Now the news: fOmey has an iPhone also and i am trying to convince him to invest/waste some time trying to make the Gear - iPhone combination work.
Told him about the BTNotificationEnabler tweak (https://github.com/conradev/BTNotificationEnabler) and the MAP profile that is being used and he said that his ROM may already be supporting it.
If there is anyone with an iPhone and a Gear who wants to see the combination really work, please post to this thread. It could provide some motivation for fOmey!
I know he can do it if he decides to spend some time working on it.

I have activated profile MCE in the current version of null_ which is a MAP profile, I have just finished activating MSE which also is a MAP profile, this will be available in the next version. So in other words all profiles in reference to MAP will be activated in the next version of null_ (16).

fOmey my man if i got this correctly then the MSE (server side) profile should be enabled on the iPhone and the MCE (client side) should be enabled on the Gear.
However, "The MCE device shall use the services of the MSE device only after successfully creating a secure connection", which kind of concerns me.
But again, in fOmey we trust for everything Gear related.

Hey guys,
I'm looking at getting a G2N in the next few days (if I can find a shop that has them in stock!)
I just have a couple of questions...
1. Does it show WhatsApp messages? I tried YouTube but the ones that talk about WhatsApp is in German.
2. Does it show the weather forecast?
3. How accurate is the S Voice on it?
I'm using a Galaxy Note 2 (DN3 RC2 on 4.4.2).

I don't use whatsapp messenger so I can't answer the first question, but I do use it to receive Facebook, espn, and other notifications. I'm site if you choose to see those it will display them. It also has a ten day forecast. And as far as s voice I think it's pretty spot on, I've been using it for a week and only once have I had to re-say what I meant. I have it paired with an s5 to for what it's worth

1. Does it show WhatsApp messages?
I don't use WhatsApp, but *all* the apps that I have used with the watch DO show notifications clearly.
(GoogleNow, Business Calendar, Feedly, a couple of others/ etc.)
2. Does it show the weather forecast?
Yes, it even has a watch face with time and a weather logo that show the temperature and a current weather
symbol (clouds, clear, rainy). If you push the logo, you get a scrolling weather forecast in more detail (for several
days). It works well -but the fastest/most current updates in settings is hourly (I'd like 15 minutes!). I also use WeatherBug
and it pushed weather to the watch --turned it off since I was getting multiple weather more or less the same times!
3. How accurate is the S Voice on it?
- S Voice does work, and I use it to respond to text messages. (So, if you get a text message on your watch -you can read the whole thing, and there is a menu to reply (settings: either 3-4 stock "canned" messages, or using a "free form" reply with S Voice. I used S Voice, but to do so you need to a) be in a reasonably quiet location (outdoors on a windy street does not work well, riding in a car with the window open and music playing does not work well...etc.).
- Secondly, I found I needed to think through the reply completely in advance and then say it slowly. Whenever I tried to create and speak and pause and continue to speak, S voice just caught a portion of the reply and offered "here is your reply shall I send it"? (no no no! delete!). However, when I knew exactly what I wanted to say, and said it slowly but clearly, S voice did well. I would NOT recommend it for LONG message replies on the watch, (Send several short replies -that works!) However, S Voice does not seem to be as good at dictation as Google's voice keyboard, or Swype/Dragon's voice type. It is pretty good at searches.
We are very close to Android Wear devices being released. Are you prepared to possibly feel remorse after dropping money on one of these and then just a few months later, new devices will be out that may eclipse them in function and app ecosystem? I bought and kept my Neo with the knowledge that its a stopgap for a few months and I'll most probably ditch it for Android Wear this summer. There's still a lot of missing functionality that the older Gears and even Pebble watches can do that need to be caught up because Samsung decided to ditch the old platform for Tizen. So it's pretty much like a gen 1 device again instead of building on the existing ecosystem from the original Gear, which means waiting on features, apps and stability/bug fixes.
Because I love the IR blaster and mic, I kept my Neo in the chance that devs can come through and fix/add the software/apps to address my problems with it. I don't know if an Android Wear device will come out that has the IR blaster, so I'm keeping the Neo for now. Even though the WatchOn app sucks right now, because it's very limited in what devices it can control.
You must be willing to gamble on whether those apps/software features will ever come around, because those of us who buy Samsung devices regularly, know that if you don't buy one of their devices that have decent developer support, you're kind of screwed due to their penchant to release so many new devices and subsequently forget about supporting their last-gen products with updates. We'll see if the decision to go Tizen will help or hurt this product. So far the app store is pretty thin and I expected there would be a bounty of awesome apps by now since one of the advantages of Tizen promoted was that it's so easy to develop on this platform compared to android. Given that, the only reason for the lack of apps I would think is lack of developer interest.
Ok sorry to sound a percy pessimist but here are some little gripes so far.. I'm totally understanding that its still early days yet and software may well be improved over time and also I may well be being dim and not knowing where some settings are etc. If so then please by all means let me know!
* Cradle/dock VERY awkward to attach.
* Does nots seem to have the cool "bypass phone lockscreen if watch is attached" feature which was demo'd in I/O.
* Doesn't seem to be a way to open apps or do anything on the watch if you are not in a position to talk. (other than the list of "example" searches you can see if you don't talk to the watch quick enough.
* I don't seem to be getting vibration notifications
* doesn't seem to be a way of using your own photos for the photos watch face
* doesn't seem to be a way of editing the call reject text messages
* strap is very awkward to put on and for the heart rate monitor you need to have it on pretty tight which is tricky to do one handed with the kind of clasp it has.
* **the movement to wake the watch is a bit hit or miss. it doesnt seem to be just a matter of flicking the wrist or moving up to face.** (this is beginning to be a problem. it is pretty random if it wants to wake up from movement or not. cant work out if it dependant on which watchface or not). i reallllllllllly don't want to have to touch the watch to see notifications etc.
* to even entertain viewing it outside, you have to manually crank the brightness up to max else it is pretty much unreadable. and thats in the UK sunshine!!!
other than that, it seems to be a nice watch.
i feel like i just wasted 180 quid

The lockscreeen unlock feature relies on Android L, not the watch.
The strap is replaceable. I have 2 Silicone ones from Amazon ready to go.
And this is Google Now on your wrist. Yes it's first generation and has plenty to improve upon. But it's essentially meant to be Google Now on your wrist.
Just be happy you got yours! Haha. I'm refreshing the UPS page like a mad man (had it delivered to work.... But I received the day off. Hahaha)
STILL way way better than that Tiezen BS Samsung tried out... Be positive!!
(Keep in mind I have a gear 1 and love it)
Yep, cradle is annoying
Vibrate is very slight I hardly ever notice it
All apps need to support wear before they can be interacted with (contacts, emails, messages etc if using a non google product)
Strap clasp doesn't feel very secure
love how light it is
has google now integration which so far has been hit and miss 70/30
always on face is cool (except still emits light in dark rooms)

yeah i had a feeling it might be a L feature. although its a bit annoying as i had the same feature with my Pebble using an app called Pebble Locker which basically bypassed the requirement for entering a pin etc if the watch was connected to the phone. So its defintely possible without L. hopefully someone will make a quick little app to do that
I will be ordering a metal braclet style strap sometime soon, like i had on my pebble. much more comfortable.

yeah the vibrate is VERY slight. it took me a while to realize it was doing it. I hope they add an option to change the intensity of the vibration as I'm pretty sure it is capable of a more stronger vibe.

Agreed. App will be out soon. I already have 5 exclusive Wear apps ready & waiting. Hahha.
I wish they gave us the nicer strap from Gear 2. Not this BS from Gear Fit... Oh well.
This is a starter watch... Moto 360 & after will only get better & better. As will the software. LOVE that Google is keeping control.
Coming from Gear Neo; initial observations:
1. Watch has more metal and feels more premium
2. Watch strap is larger, will accommodate larger wrists but the clasp is junk compared to the neos.
3. OS is a little overwhelming right now, which I actually think is good. After 30 minutes, I am still cant do much- Iam not concerned with "watch cant do" xxx yet.
4. I have had 2 OS updates in the first hr.
5. Gear Manager seems to be a little more straight forward than Wear Manager but it is too new to make a final call on that
6. Watch is fast! "Okay google, what is the capital of NY?" is recognized and answered immediately.
7. Interface is smooth as silk
I use skiplock to bypass the lock screen. Works with WiFi networks and Bluetooth devices

Here's my opinions after receiving the watch today. See if you have the same thoughts, thefunkygibbon:
I was quite pleased that it is not really big
the set up process was easy enough but took quite a while - I think mainy due to downlaoding a firmware udate
there's quite a learning curve in using this new OS
the watch is a bit useless at the moment because it is constantly disconnecting so it is just a simple watch - I need to find out how to correct this
I noticed the battery on my phone goes down fast when the watch is connected.
It really sucks that there is no auto brightness
the notifications work really well and look great with the picture backgrounds

You can start apps without voice by going to the Google voice prompt then swiping all the way down to Start...

Feels to me like we are missing a launcher. Voice control is great, but there are times it just won't work and the method above is cumbersome.
Any other negative points? I want to buy a gear live soon...but I rather hear the reviews first. I'm guessing the problems listed all here are going to be on the LG G watch and the Moto 360 since most of the complaints seem to be Android wear related.
Be careful w attaching or taking off charging cradle. Reports show breaking off or breaking piece off phone. Thought mine coming in today but, scheduled for tomorrow.

Just a couple quick notes:
- I noticed that I can somewhat bypass the lockscreen. I'm currently on 4.4.4. (S4 - KangaKat) When I have the watch open the app on my phone or perform an action on the phone, I can simply press the home button (or side power button) and I do not have to swipe my pattern.
- Vibration notifications SHOULD be working. There were two system updates that were done when I first connected the watch. Perhaps that's the issue?
- I am able to see that I have a notification without turning on the watch. When I swipe it up, I get more details, which I can then swipe away, so that the next notification with show on the screen. I think this is just a matter of managing the notifications and making sure that you are top of them. Swiping them away & handling them as they come in.
- Yes, outside sucks. Today is pure sunlight, I was having trouble seeing it with a setting of 3. I was able to view it better when I put my hand over it. Not much different from trying to look at portions of my phone's screen in the outdoors with a similar brightness.
All in all, I'm pretty satisfied and I understand that this is first gen. I am hoping that through some proper feedback to google / developers, we start to see some software updates & applications developed that further the watch's capabilities. For now, though the notifications are great....although I wish I could not have it send work emails to the watch. The thing vibrates non-stop.

can't you blacklist apps? or do you use the same app for work and personal email?

I have not seen yet that you can blacklist apps. Since it uses native notifications, the only way I can see to prevent this would be to disable email notifications altogether Not something I want to do. I will either just have to have the notification sit there and disappear as I check my emails / dismiss the notification. Hopefully, there are some changes in the future on this.

You are correct. I missed that completely. I have muted my email application, let's hope tomorrow is a little more quiet. Thanks for pointing that out!
Other then the obvious time.
I like mine, but debating taking it back because in not using it as much as expected. Maybe i just don't have enough uses for it. Hence this thread
I use mine for notifications whilst at work so I'm not constantly getting my phone out.
Use it for music using Bluetooth ear phones when I'm out running or in the gym.
Controlling music playing from My phone so i can leave my phone plugged in.
Controlling my phones settings easily, again without getting the phone out.
Ticking off the shopping list as im getting dragged around tescos with the misses.
Use the camera app quite a bit too have a look in hard to reach areas when working on my car or fixing generators at work, also handy when playing hide n seek with my kids.
Quick text messages and replys.
Starting and stopping My Tracks easily.
And lastly just enjoy geeking out with it.
When working out, I use the heart rate tracker with Endomondo. For real time heart rate tracking the entire workout. This helps give a better idea of how many calories were burned. It works best during treadmill walking, not as well when weightlifting. But even what it does during weightlifting is better than nothing.
Shopping list as was mentioned already.
Cooking: I use "My Cookbook" app. To view recipes on my watch while cooking. This is so much easier, than trying to pull out the phone, book or tablet, to read a recipe while in the act of cooking. It keeps the hands free for the actual cooking.
Weather: I use the "Bright Weather" app. Which keeps a persistent weather card on my watch. So anytime I want a quick view of the the weather I can pull up that card right away.
Easy reading and replying to text. I use the "WearResponses" app, to easily reply to text messages. It's also easy to create and send a message via voice.
Watch faces, wow there are so many. I'm very much a watch face junkie .
Calendar: I always have the calendar card open for easy lookup of my daily schedule.
Step Counting: Aside from tracking steps during my workouts. Google Fit tracks steps all day. So I can see when I'm getting a good number of steps in a day overall.
Navigation: When using Google Maps, I can see directions on the watch while walking.
Calculator: I use the "Multi Calculator" app, to be able to use a calculator right on my phone.
Sleep: (Last but certainly not least.) I use the "Sleep As Android" app. To track my sleep patters, pause tracking when I get up in the middle of the night momentarily, to stop sleep tracking when I wake up and even dismiss alarms.
There's more, but that's the regular everyday stuff ,

I have to add answering the phone. It's so nice to get caller ID on the watch. No need to pull out the phone when I get a call. I can look at the watch and decide if I want to send the call to voicemail or answer. There have been times I would have never taken any action on a call. Because my hands were not in a position to pull out the phone. But I was able to send to voicemail, because I could at least get one finger to my watch .

@phil gpx. How are you taking pics with the watch? Also what app do you find best for the shopping lists on the watch? Keep?
@Darnell_Chat_TN. How is the heart rate tracker with Endomondo? Google fit sucks at it as I get a BPM after a run at 70. There's no way.
How do you like my cookbook?
Edit: I just did a search for some of those apps: which cookbook app? There were 2. And, which endomondo app? Pro or basic?
Thanks guys. I just got this watch a few weeks ago. Played with the basics myself, but I know it can do more for me.
Sorry for the off topic questions
Definitely more then I'm using it for.
I wish i could get it to work with my fitness pal

For camera, have a look at the "ZenWatch Remote Camera" app. It will work with any Android Wear device.
Heart rate tracking with Endomondo is good. It's not always perfect, but for an hour walk/run, it does give a good overall picture of BPM average and high. It's best to just allow the arm to swing normally during the activity. Trying to keep holding your arm up to look at the watch I have found messes the reading up and gives low numbers.
The watch only works with the free version of Endomodo, but if you want extra features you have to get the paid version. And then, the free version will work with the watch, plus have all the paid features too. So you'll have 2 apps if you get both, but only use the free version, that will also have the paid features after you buy the paid app .
I'm using "My Cookbook (Recipe Manager)", by Maadinfo Services. It's very nice, since I can put in recipes however I like them and then see it on my watch. The last viewed in the phone app will show on the watch.

Endomodo is "supposed" to automatically feed data to MyFitnessPal. But I have never been able to get that to work. So I always have to enter the data into MyFitnessPal manually .

As mentioned above or camera for wear or camera remote etc as there are many on the play store.
The shopping list is called Bring. You can have multiple people on the list and you get a alert when someone updates the list.

I just tried the ZenWatch Remote Camera app with the LG G Watch R and it basically **** the bed told me in no uncertain terms it only supports the ZenWatch. Too bad, it looks like a neat app.

When starting it on phone it has a popup saying that it could not pair with watch and asking if I still want to continue using it with the option of "yes" or "no thanks". Absolutely nothing happens on the watch. Maybe you have an older version? Either way thank you for trying to help.
