According to reading around XDA and every where else there is not. Because the bootloader for the S8+ verizon is locked and when you root the device there is no way to pass Safetynet. With that being said I have been reading about Magisk V14 and I'm still iffy on the details on how Magisk works, but according to some people it works on the S8+ just not too sure if its the unlocked bootloader version.

I saw a thread about using Root Cloak to allow Pokemon to work. You will have to install a modified Exposed. I think the thread is in the S8+ Guides, News..... Forum. Not sure if it is good for the S8.

PLEASE use the search function or even just google it.. Pokemon GO uses safetynet to check for a modified device, snapchat only searches for su. Download safetynet playground and see if you pass green or red.

Viper4android on Note 9 (snapdragon) without root?

Hi everyone,
I just switched from my old good Galaxy S7 to a brand new Note 9 (snapdragon, couldn't find an exynos variant on my country)
and so far i'm loving it, the software (aside from the usual bloatware) has been excelent and nothing seems to be missing for me right now, EXCEPT for some decent quality audio.
I'm used to use mid-high tier headphones and all I can say is samsung is still giving us pretty much no control over the sound quality.
Now to the point of this post, I know there is a way to install viper4android by just changing the kernel to permissive (idk if this still works). I don't want to void my warranty by tripping knox this time, and up to this moment there is no reason for me to root my device except for the sound mod.
Does anyone know how to install viper4android without root?
Does anyone know how to change the kernel to permissive without tripping knox?
Does anyone know if there is or is in development a way to root without tripping knox?
Thanks for reading

Again as far as I know the only non root way to install Viper4android is through TWRP. Yes this will trip knox but is non root. TWRP will probably be available on a Snapdragon version Note 9 long before if ever root is. His wishes for no nox trip Viper4android are non existent.

didn't know setting kernel to permissive was doable non root.
i did a few searches about "viper non root" and they all point to rooting your phone as if it was click bait. even xda forums state that it is not possible. maybe im not searching correctly?

what are the pros and cons (if any) of Magisk over SuperSU ? i apologize if this is

i searched for some info but couldn't find any at a glance so perhaps I will just ask you guys. I apologize if this is a FAQ and i just missed it. i have supersu. i wonder if i should move to Magisk ?
1. what are the pros of Magisk
2. any downsides of Magisk ?
3. is there any tutorial for converting from SuperSU to Magisk ? i managed to get TWRP and SuperSU because someone else did it on my phone. that person is no longer be able to help. different country different timezone. not a friend either. it was a paid service done in Hongkong where and when I bought the phone.
again I apologize if this is a FAQ. I'm a noob. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction. I just want to set this phone right from the get go. it's a virgin phone. haven't install anything yet. well i install Titanium Backup just to make sure root is working. 99% virgin i guess. thank you for any help and pointers
EDIT # 1 : forgot to add this is about Samsung Galaxy S9+ S9650 Snapdragon running 8.0 just in case it matters to those who want to contribute some info
EDIT # 2 : most likely won't be using this phone for Android Pay, SnapChat. but I would like to use this phone for banking apps. i'm not really into snapchat, instagrams, etc. me old timer

Open source. Actively maintined. Root hiding. Systemless modifications. Big community. Etc...
Possibly not compatible with as many devices as SuperSU was.

Is supersu even being developed anymore? I'd love to have at least some sort of crappy Plan B as it looks like magisk has a possibility of dying.

[Knox-Patched] Samsung Health 6.3.0.027 for all Samsung Galaxy phones

long time since I last wrote on xda.. just passing by
just bought my brand new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active and set it up together with my Galaxy S9 phone (will jump to the S10 in the near future). while doing so, I jumped across Samsung Health which won't work with tripped Knox as we well know.
I'm making this post to let people have the opportunity to enjoy Samsung Health on their phone, even with Knox tripped - for both Rooted (which could already use it before with a build.prop edit) and Un-rooted users
The official application has been patched in smali to bypass Knox checking.
Note: uninstall previous Samsung Health app before installing the patched one!
Compatibility: all Samsung Galaxy phones (rooted/un-rooted with tripped Knox)
Download: com.sec.android.app.shealth_6.3.0.027_patched_by_xpirt.apk
enjoy!

Will it possible for Samsung pass or samsung pay or its much more integrated?
Can't uninstall stock app, only disable it.
If I try to install the patched app it fails because stock is still installed.

My S7 Unrooted:
Cant uninstall the original S-health, so renamed package name of patched one, but apk crash and wont start. (still think that this one cant have a hearth rate and synchronization to work)
https://www.apkhere.com/down/com.gmail.heagoo.apkeditor.pro_1.8.28_free - this one work for me
The best result i had was with App Cloner 1.5.9, check: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-s-health-devices-knox-t3543306/page21 but still no sync and hearth rate...
I'm on the S5 does this include the heart rate monitor?

A lot of people have trouble installing this apk over the old one so I was wondering maybe you wouldn't mind releasing the same app but with different package name? It would fix all of those problems easily.
I'm having difficulties installing this app. could someone help?

You can also update the app from the play store and it'll still be fine.

Is it possible to share your patch details? I might want to look into other apps which get broken by tima / knox, and this could help nost starting from zero.

Semi Custom Rom features | S20 FE 5G | SM-G781B

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else out there has had some luck customising there S20 FE 5G variant stock rom whilst waiting for a possible custom rom built?
Here I have a few screenshots of my current setup with modules installed, Oneplus Launcher, Viral icon pack, EdXposed and magisk with Safety net check PASS.
Any suggestions on what else can be done for now or even questions and ide be happy to help out.
One last thing, if someone had a fix for the Warning on Boot message you get that would be great, I have tried searching for a Boot animation fix/workaround without success.
Thanks for reading & let's puts some heads together here

I have similar setup -
Nova launcher w/S6 icon pack
EdXposed, w/Xprivacy, Gravity box, Firefds Kit, Burnt Toast.
Magisk.
Forced removed a bunch of system apps using ADB - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/force-remove-gameoptimizationservice-howto.4223511/post-84367673
Think the boot unlock warning can only be removed on Exynos..I think.

Thats also something else I am looking into, its just images files afaik. So the trick use for the S20 should work on the S20FE - there is a thread on XDA and I just need to get around to trying it out.

Nice set-up! Is the Nova Launcher highly responsive? I've tried a few & the Oneplus I'm using at the moment is great, extremely fast & easy UI with great features..also pairs well with the Viral icon pack from Playstore.

No, the launcher feature was removed in Android 11 I think?
That's why we have to use a module called "Quickswitch (Android Pie+)" to get the feature back.. root's easy with the build feature in Magisk provided you have the BL unlocked that is..

I think I've tried that method if it's the up_param.tar method using adb shell/cmd & I was unsuccessful in my venture lol I think our model has a different file placement/format compared to that threads OP, maybe wrong?

Which SafetyNet pass file did you use? I tried the one that said it was fixed for S20 fingerprint data, but it made my FE bootloop.
I didnt, once you root most android devices, they wont pass Safetynet.

I read yesterday that you won't pass with EdXposed, using LSposed apparently changes that.
I dont need or want Google pay on any of my devices. If I want to pay for something I use my debit/credit cards.
I havent used Lspeed in a long while as it kept causing unprodictable instabilities on the devices I put it on.
