wifi only rom on carrier tab s2 - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a tab S2 from Sprint I don't plan on putting service back on (have hotspot on my phone now). There isn't much development for the Sprint variant. Could I just flash a rom meant for the WiFi only variant? Or am I SOL?

3g with att from t-mobile tab

I have a t-mobile galaxy tab that I am now using on Att, I installed the newest overcome rom, have been trying different modems but so far cannot seem to be able to get 3g to work. To clarify I am using att sim card in a att 3g area. Is there a specific modem to achieve this or some settings I need to set?
My t-mobile vibrant that is unlocked, works perfectly fine with the same att sim and I get 3g, can make calls and use data simultaneously.
Have you gone through your vpn settings?

I have checked the APN settings and everything looks the same as what is set on my vibrant that is getting 3g.
I understand there ARE hardware differences between AT&T and T-Mo versions. As a result....only Edge on T-Mo network with AT&T tab....and only Edge on AT&T network with T-Mo tab.
I know...sux!
Oh, I was hoping that the hardware was just the same and the software was different on each carrier, like each one only enabled certain frequencies. Especially since the Vibrant is able to get 3g with At&t.
Big differences in the radios. They are compatible on each others voice frequencies, but they don't have the correct data frequencies.
what are your apn settings to make the att sim work and get data??
I flashed overcome v2.0.0 gold on my tmobile tab and flashed the jk3 modem for att... is that the modem I need to flash to work with at&t? I only get voice and 2G only. Someone said maybe I need to flash jpz modem? would that get 3g data on my tmobile tab with at&t sim?
I give up. What's the point of posting accurate information if people won't read it?

Standing right beside you Captain.
I feel sad Cap, the crush on galaxy tab made me buy a Tmo TAB and I am a ATT user. I just want to sell my current one and get a ATT to enable 3G data...damn...
I have two tabs: the t-mobile tab I first bought, and the at&t tab I bought after I learned.

[Q] Can Galaxy Note GT-N7000 work with Tmobile USA 4G/HSPA+?

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to flash a Tmobile Radio Modem to get Tmobile USA 3G/4G/HSPA+?
I know it's been confirmed that an AT&T Galaxy Not i717 will work with Tmobile 4G/HSPA+ if it's properly flashed with Tmobile modem.
Has anyone tried the method like this link below but flashed to an GT-N7000 (International Version):
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...e-3g4g-hspa-on-your-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717/
Please help because I don't want to take the risk to brick my Note N7000.
TIA
Does not work. Tmo in usa is limited to 2g only except in tiny pockets where tmo has installed the frequencies used by att on their own network. This is supposedly mostly for iphone users on tmo, and may be extended. But aside from these tiny pockets, 2g ONLY.

hmm N7000 and the I717 have totally different hardware radios and other internal stuffs....
I think 2G means EDGE. Flashing Tmo modem on an unlock N7000 'might' work in receiving 3G/4G HSPA* but it might a the end of the day, change back to Edge again....
What that guy on your video showed is he can get 4G signals on Tmo but the big question on that is... is it always persistent throughout at the end of the day (that his phone can get the real thing?)
My take, don't install something that's only a temporary fix if it just means temporary only....

[Q] A few questions for the SCH-I800

Getting my Galaxy Tab in a day or so from Amazon, and had a few questions.
The SCH-I800 from US Cellular. ($139 compared to $200 for the same thing from Verizon off Amazon)
I don't really plan on using it for data or calling, long as WiFi works, I'm fine. Unless it has GSM, which would be a bonus, but if I recall, USC is CDMA(?), or is the I800 a global unit (Having both CDMA and GSM)
I notice that the majority of ROMs available for the i800 are for Verizon, is there any chance that would mess with anything system-wise if I were to install a Verizon ROM on a USC device? I have some familiarity with flashing, just wanted to gather info before I started bricking my device.
Since I'll be using it as a tablet and not as a 3G data tab, will any of the other Tab variant of ROMs work with this tablet (At least with Sprint's p100 GT ROMs, or whatever) If not, that's alright.

AT&t Samsung galaxy tab s 10.1 unlocked

Well I just want to inform you guys that the AT&T galaxy tab s will not work properly if unlock and use on Tmobile network. I got mine from At&t and intend to use it with Tmobile. However, i figured out that the tablet does not support Tmobile 4G and 3G frequencies. Love it alot but will have to return it due to this problem

Is it safe to use AT&T ROM on a T-Mobile Tab S2?

Hey peeps! I was wondering about using an AT&T ROM on my T-Mobile tab S2? I recently unlocked my T-Mobile Tab S2 and am currently using it on AT&T. I noticed that I don't seem to be able to get 4G LTE on it the same way I used to when I had it on T-Mobile. When I run speed test, I only get 3G speeds. Is there a fix for this? Or am I able to run a ROM from an AT&T TAB S2 SAFELY and be able to get better speeds? This would be my first time doing this if it's possible. I am well versed on rooting and running custom ROMS, ODIN etc.
I appreciate any and all help and PATIENCE with this! Thanks guys!:good::fingers-crossed:
