I ordered my nexus on Friday of last week and it did not ship until late Monday and ups delivered it yesterday(early, thanks to them). When unboxing it, I noticed they there were clearly 2 pieces of tape on each side as if it had been opened and resealed. My nexus has no problems whatsoever (except for the flickering, which is minimal and from previous devices should be fixable with software). I actually see no reason for this to have been returned and think that perhaps Google is opening the devices to verify good ones before they send them out. Anyone else received recent devices with two pieces of tape?

If you go back a few days, there's a large thread on this. I'd find it for you, but I have to run.

Do you mean the black seal tapes on the black box containing your nexus and was your nexus wrapped in a clear plastic wrapper?

Use the search feature, this has been covered in the last few days. The tape intact/cut seems random. -Ara

I read that you can order your Nexus with your credentials already saved, like the kindles. Is this your case?

There were several owners that reported the double tape phenomenon. These owners were not luck as you though and reported one or more of the common issues.

Mine came this way. I just had to enter my password.

When I got my N7, it was pre-configured with my Google account, it just asked for password. I only had single tapes.
I notice my screen flickers on white screens while at low brightness sometimes... is this normal, I saw you mentioned it.

Ah I've reread your op and I understand that the seal was broken or tampered and was hidden by putting another tape over it
Had a quick look at my box and didn't find double tape. Maybe someone did a check test during the last production line or had to reopen it to put the right adaptor or other stuff in?

Then Google opened it to insert your credentials.

As another (potentially redundant) data point, mine had one piece of tape on each side, and I only had to enter my password as well. If people are getting boxes with two pieces of tape on each side and one has been slit, then perhaps there's something there.
Or not. Who the hell knows anymore.
Mine was in the nexus sleeve, slid out and a plain black box with 2 black tapes- tough to cut.
My question is why would you give out your credential info online so someone can preprogram it in???
It makes it easier to setup and btw, the pre-loading a google account doesn't open the box (they don't have your password), they link it to the device's serial number and when it boots up, it automatically loads your data after you input your password. Or so said the others in the last thread for this issue. -Ara

You are given a refurbished phone this basically means that the internal are used but working properly, and the outer shell is new...no scratches no marks

Sucks when I just put a liquid screen protector on my phone. Someone's going to reimburse me that 20 bucks.

If the company has some sort of satisfaction guarantee ask for a refund. If not they can just send u a replacement. That's what I did with skinomi

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you could tell me how to use substratum correctly. I've been away from Samsung phones so I'm kinda out of the loop. And I've watched some videos but I don't know if the same settings apply to the Galaxy note 8.
So I was hoping one of you guys could explain to me the right way to use it for the Galaxy note 8. Thank you in advance

Just open my note 8 today. Probably talks this later.
I skimmed through it but look like it was working. Think you have to pay for something without to it though
