Navigation Bar Problem - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Guys the phone is vie-l29 and version is c185b380. When I try to hide the navigation bar it simply does that on with the option. But after rebooting there is two navigation bar overlapping each other everytime I reboot. One of them is three dots that works with force touch and the other one is classic navigation bar. I tried factory reset but it did not work. Any ideas ?

There is a new update 382. Wait for it or update through ff. It is already signed by Huawei.

Huh? B382 already out last month. Today is B384 just signed by Huawei.

I am talking about c185b382, you are referring to c636b382 and c636b384

I updated to b382 but the problem insists. I figured out it has something to do with the version b380/b382. When I installed b360 full ota-mf-pv there was nothing wrong with navigation bar and soft keys. But after installing b380 or b382 from b360 this bug happens. I don't know how to solve problem without downgrading to b360 yet.

You can see bellow the screen there are soft keys and the three dots that works with force touch.

Update: I have just realized that soft keys area unresponsive when hidden. Cannot slide down or up pages with that area.

Same thing on l09c432b376. Every reboot of the phone causes this problem. I wrote to Huawei support, but they didn't know nothing of this issue and they told me that no firmware that fixes it was on the go. Very annoying.

Yeah I updated to b384 but its still the same. I dont want roll back to b360 because it has another bug with spotify. So i will wait for oreo even if I dont have any idea whether huawei make that update for p9+ or not. Still so annoying..

just don't reboot then.. and how often do you reboot.

If the only problem was conflict between soft keys and hidden keys your solution might be right. But i also said that area where contains the sofy keys is unresponsive to slides with fingers. For example if im using 9gag i cannot slide the page with that area with hidden buttons. I have to use the rest of the screen. Thanks for the reply anyway

Re: strange icons
Hi,
I had the same problem. I noticed that it only happens when TF3D was on. When I soft reset, install applications with TF3D off then everything is all right.

oya? so you mean,we must disabled the TF3D first before instaling application? hm..i'll try it..
thanks
This bug is within TouchFlo 3D. If you disable TF3D and turn on your device your icon`s are precached into memory so when you turn on TF3D they will be displayed correctly. As far as I am aware this will resume to previous state (black icons) after decent time of usage .... this is well known bug which we hope will be fixed in the future. Maybe if you tried to read this forum - use some special SEARCH feature - you didn`t have to create another meaningless topic

Problems with touchscreen

Hey everyone, im having problems with my touchscreen, seems like its out of sync or could be broken, its like when im typing something on keyboard sometimes menu window pops up out of nowhere or if i press lets say on QWERTY keyboard letter "a" on text input box letter "z" appears :s ... even if i slide between homescreens sometimes my menu does pop up, i delivered my phone to waranty service they gave the phone back after 3days and all they did was reinstalled 2.1 i dont know what to do now :s im planning to send the device to waranty once again :/ or maybe i could repair this by myself somehow ? Couse warranty service guys did not find anything wrong with my device
Note: Reinstalling software, changing versions from 2.3 to 2.1 and calibrating screen dosnt help
Here's few screens of touch screen pointers:
RED - Where i actually slide
YELLOW - Where touch points leak

Sounds very much like your touchscreen is broken. Do a recovery backup, restore or install via KDZ an original rom, and take the phone to a service center, if it's under warranty. If not, maybe you can skip the backup part. Good luck.
had the same problem with my phone... it started very subtle but then got worse.. to the point where i couldn't unlock my phone anymore =( send it to warranty, they switched the touchscreen. just got it back today, working fine now. send it back and tell them your touchscreen is broken...
Thanks for response, unfortunetely thats exactly what i did, but they prolly couldnt find the problem, couse it starts only when u use phone a little, screen gets warmer, when its cold, no problem at all

[Q] HTC One M7 - ViperOne 6.1.0 : unable to hide soft keys

Hi there,
Since I can't post in the related dev thread (I'm a new user), I have to post here
I've done the OTA upgrade from ViperOne 6.0.1 to 6.1.0. Everything went fine. But...
Since then I have the soft keys menu on my screen. Always. And I don't want/need them, since I use the capacitive buttons of the phone.
I can't find any option in Venom Tweaks to hide the soft keys, though I could swear I've seen an option for that in the previous version.
Am I the only one having this problem?
Is there a solution?
Thanks!
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1

I got the same problem, you can going to
system/build.prop
and scrolling to the bottom paste this
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
then reboot the phone...... soft key must gone.
Thank you! That worked.
A simple restart wasn't enough, I cold reboot was necessary.
I don't know if it's related to that, but now some apps (like Chrome) seem to think my phone has a capacitive contextual Menu button... It doesn't display the Chrome menu icon

Is there a workaround for this?

S6 theme not working properly

Today I got a system update of around 120mb and after that the themes are not working properly.
The theme icon are not showing up on the home screen or in the menus. I am using a material theme and the changed icon is showing only on the lock screen.
I've tried different themes, restarting the handset and I even did a hard reset.
Anybody else facing this problem?

Same problem here.
I've tried to install/reinstall different themes but the issue persists.
I think Samsung screwed it up badly. I don't have the new update, but when I submit themes to the store they tell me it has all these problems that are out of my control. Random icons moved, or not showing, certain colours not changing etc. One of my themes is literally one that is in the store now only with different colours, so it definitely would have any mistakes in it.
There was a recent system update and now the themes are woking fine.
Maybe you guys should wait a bot more, it'll be probably corrected soon.
Same here
Even after a second update I still only have standard icons no matter what theme is chosen. The lock screen is the only place correct icons are shown. This is six days after last update that started the problem. Any suggestions?

App switcher bug & Poorly designed navigation bar?

I've been using the Mate 20 for the past 24hours, being first time Huawei/EMUI user, there are some weird experiences going on.
1. Bug - App switcher:
Open recent apps, I'm not able to switch apps by clicking the partially visible adjacent apps (will go to home screen)
The only way to switch apps is by scrolling to the desired app and make sure it shows at the middle of the screen, then click it.
2. Navigation Bar Experience - EMUI? Android 9? :
The navigation keys' positioning is kinda bad. The icons are too packed at the middle of the screen, instead they should be placed more evenly, and the clickable areas should be widen. (I drawn an image below to better explain this)
I'm not sure this is an EMUI thing or Android Pie thing? How to make a suggestion to Huawei?

I agree, the current nav button setup is stupid.
Hope they fix this issue. Until then I'm using Fluidng.

It's controlled by Huawei, btw it's shifted like that because there's a "rotate" button that appears on the nav bar when you tilt your phone and auto rotate is off, you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWOp1b-5thQ

I see. But that is rarely used. It shouldn't affect the main navigation keys that are the basic function of a phone.
