Anybody else stuck at the verification screen when trying to setup Samsung Pay? I'm at the use your fingerprint screen and when I use my fingerprint, nothing happens. I also tried tapping Skip and use Samsung Pay PIN but nothing changes.

Havent gotten my note 8 yet. But this did happen to me on the note 7. Called up samsung and they said to go into the apps and delete all the date and caches for the samsung pay app. Restart the phone and try again.
Maybe sure your ffingerprint is setup and working already in the lock screen and website log ins.
No, I'm still stuck at the "preorder" part of the Note 8 Saga
I ended up factory resetting my Note 8 and it worked after that.

Unfortunately it seems factory reset is the way to go. I tried clearing cache / data under the App, uninstall, reboot, re-install directly from Samsung's store and no dice. Factory Reset got it.
I miss Titanium as well! But I used the Samsung Cloud to backup my messages and settings so at least it was better than nothing. Better to do it now while it's still early
Ugh factory reset ... can you still run a backup and restore? I'll uninstall it back up, factory reset and restore

Yeah, I used Samsung cloud and did the back-up and restore. Frustrating but worth it to earn Sammy points for using Bixby and Samsung Pay.

I'm having the Pay load problem. I guess it's a good time to try out that Premium Care and see if it's worth it.

I recently had a similar problem on my s7 edge, setting up samsung pay for the first time and getting errors. I had to update the app through the play store, samsung app store wasn't showing an update available for it, then it started working.
Has anyone with this problem tried booting into recovery and clearing ART cache in addition to the app data/cache wipe?

I have Galaxy Note N7000. I backup everything from my phone by Titanium Backup Pro twice per week.
Recently I updated the ROM of my phone, then I installed the applications from Google Play.
Once it was done I wanted to restore the data for some applications, including S Memo to get back all my memos.
Backup seems to be successful. But I don't get back any of my notes. I have 5 backups and I tried to restore each of them, all the time it seems to be restored but I still don't see my memos.
I tried to restore "data only" and "app+data", too. Still no result.
Any idea?
Thank you in advance...

I did a factory reset on my phne and the s memo data was gone... i tried to restore the "data only" option in TB.. it said it restored it but when i wen to the smemo app. only blank pages were there... but wen i opened it , the actual page was there... the thumbnails dint seem to get updated
check if its the issue in ur case as well
Open the blank pages and then save it. In that way, you will get the thumbnails back. Do a little editing IF it requires to have changes before saving.

What I meant was a manual backup of the directory outside of TB.
That one stores the thumbnails. So if you don't have that backed up, manually opening each memo should restore it.
Now for your situation, try to wipe data for SMemo, then restore via titanium, then reboot phone without opening it.

uninstall both smemo.. (backup both before)
install the 12.07.11.5773 (old one) app only
then go to applications and clear cache and force stop.
then go to TB and restore the data only for the same version.
now u should have a smemo icon on the app launcher screen.. open it and check the pages.. (no thumbnails)
open each of them and do a little editing and save again.. u should have the thumbnails as well.

Hi,
I have a NOTE that was once superbricked, and fixed using a custom PIT file.
A while ago, my phone began to freeze on me, and the only way to make it work again, is to reset it by long pressing the power button.
I tried multiple CM9, CM10, RocketRom, Samsung ROMS, but all get the same result. it freezes sometimes right after booting, and sometimes during the night, and some other times, when I use different apps. also happens after installing a fresh ROM after factory reset, with no apps installed.
Any Idea what that could be?
Thanks a lot guys.
its possible because of the bad partition as u said u have revived it by moving the system and data partition.
as i know that after this the stock ROMs which are of huge size will encounter FCs as there is not enof space for emmc.. but small roms should idealy work fine.
---------- Post added at 10:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 PM ----------
i know one of my friend who has the phone revived the same way and is now using slimbean and its working fine with no issues.. as this rom is only about 80MB.. not saying it will work for u too but ... worth a try i guess.

EDIT: Per gharlane00's post below on 11/06/13, TiBu has apparently fixed this issue with a new release.
I found this out the hard way, but TiBu is broken on S4's that go to 4.3. Here's their warning:
http://www.titaniumtrack.com/latest-news/attention-samsung-s4-users.html
If you restore any apps with it, you'll get a security warning when running it, if it runs at all. I've been slowly restoring everything one app/setting at a time. Frustrating to say the least when I paid for TiBu to do it for me.
On this subject, does anyone know if just restoring the "data" from TWRP will just intall apps/settings from MF9 to MJA? I'd guess it's not a good idea, but curious if anyone knew for sure.

Yep, happened to me to. To fix the issue, go back into stock recovery and do a factory reset. Or just forgot about Samsung's crappy update and flash an AOSP rom like I did.

I saw some were having trouble with TB so before I upgraded I backed everything up with TB, then I did a factory reset in recovery. I then odined the mf9 full tar file to bring me to completely stock. I then ran cf autoroot on the stock mf9. Loaded up TB and restored everything I wanted restored with TB. This left me with a stock rooted mf9 with all the apps and data restored. I then installed the MJA update using the stock recovery. This way I didn't have to restore my apps after the MJA update since I heard TB was not working right after the update. Hopefully this helps some people that don't want to lose their game progress or app data.

Sorry, a little confused by your answer. Are you saying after doing a stock recovery factory reset, TB would restore the apps for you? If not, what did you use to recover your apps (if anything worked for you at all)?

I wasn't sure either... googled it. SELinux = Security-Enhanced Linux.
What caught my eye was that it was started by none other than the NSA back in 2000. You know, because the NSA is so concerned about making sure prying eyes can't get to your stuff.

Never mind, the TB Restore Fixer did work. You still get a notification in the status bar but the application does not force close and you can continue to use it. I only got one notice. So after getting one notice, I cleared it and then went back into the app and didn't get a second notice. So that is better than nothing

One last update, so I force closed the app I restored, opened it up again and I did get the security warning again in the notification. But it is a small price to pay if you have an important app that you have valuable data that needs to be restored now.

Here's what i did and i kept everything. I was currently on a stock rooted mf9 rom, i downloaded the 1click odin stock mf9 Tar and flashed that to unroot myself and get rid of my custom recovery. This way, i didnt need a factory reset and all my apps and data were still there. Then i just downloaded the ota MJA and flashed that through the stock recovery thus getting me to MJA with everything working and my apps and data on there too. After that, i got some force closes cause NOVA u have to be rooted to use nova launcher. I then odin the CF-Auto root file and downloaded su from market and updated it. after that everything worked fine. for now im not going to risk getting any custom recoveries. So im just on stock rooted MJA for now and everything works good. If you guys would like me to post the links to the files i used. just quote me x).
UPDATE2: This only seems to happen if you uninstall the Launcher system app. Mine does not seem to be affected by Xposed or other mods, and works 100% fine now in U Power Saving.
Just decided to try Ultra Power Saving mode after rooting and modding my phone yesterday. I'm not sure what exactly caused it (xposed, root, w.e) but my phone will not boot past the ATT Globe now. Just thought everyone might appreciate a heads up that they may have to factory reset after enabling this setting.
I'll update if my phone decides to boot up (letting it sit now)
UPDATE: It seems that after rooting, U power saving does have the potential to BRICK your phone. DO NOT ENABLE FOR ANY REASON AFTER ROOTING.
My gut says the culprit was uninstalling Launcher.apk (thought it was the google launcher >_>) gonna have to factory reset now.
More info dude
You might have just freaked out a noob here. Root was just achieved yesterday for the Verizon and ATT platform. Please post your hardware software state so we don't get confused here.

I disagree. There are serious disk space concerns with this phone. If I am not going to use an app,and I have root, I am deleting it to recover the space it takes plus any associated files. If that breaks something, then that sucks. You can always reinstall through factory reset.
I'm fairly confident your wrong. Factory reset won't make uninstalled system apps reappear. That's why they don't let you delete them normally.
Just Odin back to stock after Odin flashes reboot into recovery and wipe all data reboot and all should be well

Suggest that someone change the title to include AFTER TOWELROOT in there. For someone like me who had the files on the phone but just didn't pull the trigger yet, it will better keep them informed.

willing to bet there's some user error involved...Odin back to stock should fix any issues.

How much you willing to bet..
You wrong if you have lock bootloader and you took update and bootloader is updated you can't odin back to previous version. We don't have current (updated) odin file for AT&T S5 yet.
Swiping from dark side of Galaxy S5.
Can anyone confirm that after unrooting with superuser it Will be safe to use ultra power saving mode?

Same with Samsung keyboard too. That's the only keyboard that works in UPS mode.

Worked for me, and so far at least one other person in my thread.
I think Bluetooth isn't working well with pie update on note 8, earlier i indicated that there's an error with car audio where no call options are appearing, and now the gear issue.

Yeah. This happens sometimes. I would wipe the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode first as sometimes that remedies the issue.
I Flashed stock firmware via odin, selecting home csc so i don't lose data, now if i factory reset, data would be lost, just wiped cache but still the car audio isn't showing call menu

Yes. That's dirty flash. You'll need to perform full factory reset.
Please backup your data before proceed.

Car audio Bluetooth issue solved after factory reset
Apparently solved Bluetooth issue, one thing which panicked me is that i backed up secure folder right before factory reset, now in restore it shows tht backup, but unfortunately Samsung is restoring contacts year old, means Samsung never backed up fresh contacts though it always confirmed it has backed up all, either they've mixed old and new backups. Anyways Bluetooth issue is solved.
But i guess we shouldn't rely on Samsung backup for contacts, google is best, unfortunately secure folder native contacts are not backed up to Google.
Factory reset done, car audio Bluetooth connection is fine now, but gear plugin issue still there, force closes all the time.
One thing i noticed while entering recovery was tht it opens with no command screen and while in recovery bottom line says firmware info not valid, is there something wrong with recovery? What can i do now?
About phone still tells phone status is official
