Hii,
today Magisk 14 is out, ready to install from official manager, but i have noticed Wifi breaking, it won't turn on!
So keep away from this update, at least at now!!
You have noticed same bug?
Byezzzzz
Nope, mine is working with FrancoKernel
I'm with Blu Spark Kernel by eng.stk + freedom os 1.7 by nevax
Anyone update to v14 running No Limits 3.1 on stock kernel? I was minutes from doing so and happened to run into this thread. Now im sketched out... Even though current version works fine. I just have an OCD of running up-to-date software is all....

I had the same combo yesterday, and the same problem (lost wifi). I just rebooted in twrp, and did flash the bluspark again, problem solved.
Stock ROM & kernel with updated Magisk all running happily.

flash your kernel again
simple and easy
This has been covered 1 and a million times in certain cases the kernel has to be reflashed when updating magisk

Only reflashing kernel not resolve the issue!
I perform a complete but dirty reflashing of magisk-uninstaller + kernel + rom, and now works perfectly but in v13.3...
trying v14 when i'm at home..
I'm on latest Nolimits 3.2 + Boeffla Kernel
Flash Magisk 14 from twrp => bootloop
Works fine on RR, I suggest you investigate further before spreading scare stories.

I can second that. No problem at all with FrancoKernel v.7 and Magisk v14
Works fine on stock ROM/kernel as well.

Better be warned instead paying for consequences
yes need to reflash kernel, but it does not always work!
PS. if it is not welcome, the next time I keep to myself
Was the heading... Next time write something less sensational, like " I lost wifi when flashing this, anyone else?".
Lol don't flash the flash (superhero not the user) or you'll lose your life
No problems here with PureFusion+blu_spark+magisk v14+magisk manager v5.3.0 :good:
xXx 3.2 + Franco R7 + Magisk V14 and no problem for me.

Same here.
I was stuck in bootloop yesterday with blu_apark and xxxrom and again today with Franco r7 and xxxrom. Just flash the no_veririty_decryption zip after you reflash your kernel and it will boot fine if you need the zip I can probably find the link

reflash your rom or push a 6.o kernel to your phone and flash it.
before you make anymore mods to your phone, you want to make a backup within twrp recovery, in case you end up like this. then you can always restore it.

you do realize that when flashing kernels, that you dont have to reflash supersu(if you already have root)? :silly:

I was (am) under the impression that after every kernel flash superSU had to be flashed too At least with 6.0.1.

well, im not on 6.0.1, im on 6.0, and i flashed a kernel yesterday without flashing supersu, and i still have root. in theory, on 6.0.1, it should still be the same, as your supersu doesnt get removed when you flash another kernel. but, im not perfect, so i guess i could be wrong when it comes to 6.0.1

i havent even investigated any new info. i guess if there is something new, ill figure it out when the time comes.
maybe its about his new systemless root only? i still do it the old fashioned way.
I re-did my kernel and all is well except it breaks both CM root and SU root. Where would be a good place to start looking in source?

nope, considering any kernel that works on aosp should also work on CM. anyways, you cant lise root by flashing a kernel. simce root is in sysyem, beside systemless root. and kernels dont touch your system.

I cant get root on any ROM. AOSP or CM based. Now if I flash my old kernel it runs fine. On the new "rebased" kernel root is broken. Both SuperSU and CM root

This is a prerooted lite stock rom with no issues.
When the info of @simms22 doesn't solve the root issue; give it a try.
RR rom is pre rooted as well. Ive had people test it on other roms still got snake eyes. Must be something i missed

I think the issue is why its not working as it should. Pre rebase it works fine. Im missing something i just dont know what
Edit: if I knew what files could effect root I would have a place to start

I am about to flash FK as well, but, is this problem solved? I also use the hardware-keys, and that would be more important than a smoother device. I don't want on-screen buttons.
Did you report the bug to Franko as well?

Hi bro, I'm not sure whether it has been fixed now or not as I'm on stock kernel due to stability concerns. but, maybe I'll try it tonight and will report my findings. If you have already checked, then please confirm that it's been fixed or not.

Hey guys... Due to the absence of any custom kernel for Nougat, I wanted to get the LOS14 (and now AEX) overclock to1.6GHz... So here it is...
P.S. Clarification: This isn't my kernel, I didn't build it, This kernel was built by the one and only Iguma Osas for LOS14. I extracted this kernel from it and packaged it using Lazy flasher...
Special kudos to @osas514 for maintaining LOS14 for our dear device and for giving me permission to post this...
FEATURES:
1. OC to 1.6GHz
2. Zram defaulting to 250MB
3. More... But i forgot... Check LOS14 changelog for them...
Download link & instructions on 2nd post
Roms & bugs on 3rd post
Changelog on 4th post

Note: Zip only flashable by twrp... You can't flash in other recoveries...
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Turn off signature verification (I'll sign it soon)
3. Flash it
4. Use your favourite kernel manager and set max freq to 1600MHz
5. Post your rom here:fingers-crossed:
6. If you want to revert to stock kernel (and ramdisk), backup is stored at /data/local/boot-backup.img

Confirmed working on these ROMs:
All N roms
BUGS:
Hotspot not working on AICP (works on others) (can somebody else also confirm this?)
Changelog:
20170703: v1: Initial release, kernel from LOS 20170607 build
20170725: v2: Kernel from 20170718 build, no kernel changes (far as i know) but improvements to zip like backing up stock and device verification

Stock kernel is stored in data/local/boot-backup.img, restore it from twrp (or any app if you know how to).
AFTER flashing the rom! and also after rom updates, as rom flashes back stock kernel.

Dirty flash the same build and don't flash Franco kernel. See if the sound comes back after that. If that's the case then you'll have to wait for the next update of kernel for it to work on the version of rom you are using.

Pixel mod should not affect the audio. I think there is an incompatibility between the version of the rom and kernel.
So is r69 version of Franco kernel safe to flash ?
