P9 Lite Nougat roms dont have Vulcan enabled. - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

Drivers and hardware support is there. But API version shows 0.0.0 so games don't run with Vulkan. I tried running Vulkan game by compiling Vulkan-only game with Unreal Engine 4 and doesnt work. Any developer here can enable Vulkan?
Edit: Posted this in wrong section... Maybe EVA phones don't have vulkan too?

I'm using EVA-L09 and my api version is 1.0.11. Just tested it with Vulkan Caps Viewer.

API Vulkan

Hi, all is in the title.
I saw Vulkan is compatible only with S820 and Tegra X1/K1.
But does it's possible to port it in our Moto X ? Or it's only a hardware problem ?

Android Nougat?

Is there any chance for Huawei P8 lite to get a Custom, Nougat-based ROM? I am pretty sure that Huawei will not release an official ROM, but could we expect something from our developers?
I'm pretty sure Huawei will release Nougat

I am not so confident. The phone is very old for N, I think ... To be honest, I was hoping for a custom ROM from our developers. Either way I will be happy!!

Google forced manufacturers make updates that's why this phone received marshmallow. Now when they release updates so often I see no reason for them to stop. And there are some sources that claim we will receive nougat in second quarter of 2017

That's good news. I had read on an article that Huawei would support their phones only for 2 years. that's why I worried about this!
If huawei doesn't relase official source code for Nougat. We won't see any custom roms based on it because devs don't have files to build roms. Hopefully we will have Nougat. And maybe some devs would take it as a project.
The P8 was the flagship for huawei.
It has a 930 Kirin chip & 3GB ram - it can definitely handle nougat.
It was only released April last year (13 Months old). Keep in mind it's in the line of flagships, and had pretty much made Huawei recognisable as a competitor.
Huawei must appreciate the phone as it is £300, its not exactly dropped in price dramatically.

Wouldn't be very optimistic about such an update.

Marshmallow is at the 23rd API Level, Nougat is at the 24th. IIRC some proprietary libraries are tied to the API level so there's not much We can do without Huawei's support.
Well don't get your hopes down official N is released ?

I am not interested in porting it to AOSP 7, however its true that I have downloaded Nougat's source.
Come on, you can't seriously compare the source of Xperias and Hisilicon devices. It's like day and night.
Thanks for trying anyway.

No I was referring to that he got it working with some changes so I thought it be the same for us but maybe it isn't

If Huawei p9 lite get Android nougat update can we port it to Huawei p8 lite? Tell me if I am wrong because I am not a developer and I don't know how it works.

Good question, but I am afraid that the answer would be no. They have Hisilicon both but p9 lite has kirin 650 and p8 lite 620. Which means that without Huawei releasing some kind of the source code for the chipset no job could be done.

Oh yeah I totally forgot that they haven't released source code for kernel either ? google should sue huawei or give them a whip. Because afaik they must at least provide kernel code. That's why Samsung got sued for not providing any sort of source code not even kernel which google bashed them for

In that case we shall probably never get pass Android marshmallow.
I saw on some website a list of devices which will get Android 7 and in Huawei list the p8 lite was present so yeah I think we will get the nugat teast and emui 5 experience

Honor 5C Vulkan API support

So even with emui 5, the 5C has ni Vulkan API support what so ever...Shouldn't it be supported since the Mali T830 MP2 supports Vulkan?
Message from Honor Facebook page since i cant put links of my screenshot: "Hi we are glad that you are enjoying your device. =) For your information, the Honor 5C does not support Vulkan API at this juncture. =) Hope this clarified."
Or do we need to wait for more updates? (Emui 5.1?)
I just updated to emui 5 and it says I have OpenGL ES 3.2
The hardware does support vulkan

P9 no Vulkan API support ?

Hello i tried to install Galaxy on fire 3 but it didn't show up in the playstore so i sideloaded it via Apk Mirror but when I launched the game it gave an error and said that my phone doesn't support Vulcan API. I then downloaded DevCheck and it said that my phone supports Vulcan API. So does the Huawei P9 support vulcan API or not ? Im am on the Bluwei v3.5 Rom.

will it work for zip vulkan in our Markw redmi 4 prime?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-vulkan-api-nougat-redmi-note-4-mido-t3572230
I like to try this as well, waiting for answer. Thanks
I tested it just like on the other topic I got the cell phone identified as galaxy note 7, aida 64 said that the vulkan API was there but the system gave preference to OpenGL 3.2 causing the vulkan to be ignored
