Hi all,
As stated in the topic I want to spoof my (rooted) Huawei P9 (EVA-L09) as an Honor 8 because of play store incompatibility of the P9 for Galaxy on Fire 3.
I already tried by editing the built.prop file and changing ro.product.model, ro.product.name, ro.product.device and ro.build.product from the original value “generic_a15” to “FRD” which I found in a built.prop file of an Honor 8 for the ro.product.model attribute (honestly I don’t even know if it’s really correct).
But after rebooting the device nothing has changed (still the same model description “EVA-L09” in the Android properties).
Can someone help me out? What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
it seems that on all current Huawei phones the model name in the build.prop is a placeholder ("generic_a15").
But if not in this file - where do I have to adjust the model name?

1. After rooted download THE APP " Device Control " in the Play Store
Allow Root Permission
2. open the APP then go to :
Device Control > More ( last menu button ) > Build.Prop
Look for and Edit this Files carefully ( just click it _ dont long press cause it will delete the file !!! )

TO: Che2-L11C636B330
ro.product.model : hi6210sft
TO: Che2-L11
Reboot then Download the Latest update.app

..i tried flashing many Che2-UL00 firmwares but still in Balong..
i can't root and install any Custom recoveries, it says Image Verification Failed.

in my country there are several build numbers for example "middle east" "fenland" "rusia" and etc
so as I don't know the exact build number I changed that to "middle east" build number sample! (I live in middle east!)
know when I want to installing middle east rom it said "version check failed"

Hi this can't be fixed with simply with root. you need to install the file of YOUR region
Exmpl: Balong311 // Europe version.
if you are in lollipop just download Europe one /B506/

I have a Honor 5C (NEM-L51), it has been updated through OTA a couple of times, after the last update to NEM-L51C432B355(EMUI- 5.0 and Android 7), I cannot find the way to activate the fingerprint, there used to be an option in Settings to do it, but now it has disappeared.
How do I do it now?
Help would be appreciated.

Same i have the honor 5c with the fingerprint i think it's the chinese version because the european version have NFC instead of fingerprint so they probably updated our chinese honor 5C with the European Update
i did not have find how to fix that sorry :/

about this. I have a nem-al10 rebranded to nem-l51 but I haven't tried it myself. The instructions are
"For activate fingerprint sensor in emui 5 (if it available):
1. with twrp get root;
2. In "\hw_oem\etc" rename or delete folder "permissions" (or rename/delete folder "etc"), I renamed to "p_ermissions" with ES Explorer;
3. reboot phone - in Setting will be available fingerprint."
I think people are buying Chinese phones cheaply, rebranding them and reselling them here which is why this problem occasionally crops up.

I think you wrote the oposite. The European version doesn't have NFC and have fingerprint scanner.

No, I agree that the Chinese version has fingerprint and no NFC. You are probably thinking of the honor 7 lite rather than the honor 5c nem-l51. The 7 lite has scanner and is the European version too

I bought Huawei P9 plus in china in Dec 16, model no: VIE-AL10. I continually update the Chinese firmware on it, when the phone requests a new one is available. However I get fed up that there are still some features I can't access as I don't understand chinese and also I don't have a chinese registered mobile no. to access some of the Huawei faciilities.
Can I change the firmware to a European version? and if so how do I go about this. I'm not very savvy when it comes to mobiles so a simple step by step process would be appreciated . What are the main differences between the two firmwares which you think I will benefit from?

On XDA, 'support' for P9 Plus is much less than for P9 (there are procedures to debrand P9 and install EU cust c432, wherefrom you can install custom ROMs for P9, etc).
If you google for e.g. XDA VIE-AL10, you can find some threads about installing TWRP and rooting the Chinese P9 Plus, you may further ask there

Root your device and then use Xposed Imei changer from google store. That's on official firmware and i can confirm that is working since im changing firmwares all the time due to oreo development.

Anyone can help me,? i want to change android model with editing build.prop in MiA2 stockrom android 10 but no effect. I want to change model name with samsung SM-970F or Samsung S10e.
You'll need to root to do it. But why would you want to do this in the first place?
