From a PM I received. Anyone have any ideas? I told him I would post in the forum so other people could offer suggestions. I asked him when he was on stock Marshmallow did the mic and earpiece work? But not received an answer yet.
No sound on my microphones and earpiece when calling
Poekser said:
I am a bit desperate for help from an Motorola Expert.
I bought a Verizon version of the Motorola Droid Turbo (mod XT1254).
I have unlocked the bootloader with Sunshine APK.
Installed the latest Lineage Rom 7.1.2
Installed the micro apps
Installed BHB27 ver 6.3 Kernel
I have done almost everything to get any sound from the microphone or earpiece when making a call. When I test the device with Device Help (hardware test) everything is working 100% - the microphone as well as all the speakers.
Can you please advise ?

No sound on stock marshmallow either !!! Suspect that I am using the wrong kernel - have already tried a lot of old kernels as well as newly developed kernels from BHB 27

If you flash back to stock Marshmallow with stock Motorola kernel, and you still don't have audio we need to trouble shoot some more. If you use a voice recorder app, does the mic work for that on stock Marshmallow?
Did you ever have mic working before you unlocked the bootloader or just after while you were on pure stock?
Do you still have TWRP installed or are you back on pure stock?
If you have TWRP, flash this "stock" Marshmallow via TWRP:
[ROM] MCG24.251-5-5 100% Stock
https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/general/rom-mcg24-251-5-5-100-stock-t3565795
If you don't have TWRP, flash this stock Marshmallow via RSDLite or fastboot:
[FXZ] Official Stock Firmware 6.0.1 MCG24.251-5-5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/dr...-official-stock-firmware-6-0-1-mcg24-t3569334
Tell me if you have audio when making phone calls, and/or if you have mic working when using a voice recorder. Trying to see if it's hardware or software issue.
I wrote about this and problem with camera maybe 4 months ago. I know that the electricity "is going" (I don't know how to say it) to the parts like camera and microphone but they are not working. Person in service who tried to fix this say it is software problem. I know that not everybody have it but maybe is it a way to fix it? Is there any thing who we have to flash? ROM, kernel but any other things? Some modules or sth?

Same problem sometimes when i try to make a call. Also sometimes when answering a call the phone switches to hadsfree. When i turn off handsfree mode i also cant hear a thing.
At the moment i'm on exzistenz 6.0 with dooms advanced kernel. Had the same problem with exzistenz 5.0 in combination with all custom kernels and also stock kernel. Also experienced the problem on stock roms(101 & 569)

Can't agree thats the whole of the problem, I was on stock rom stock kernel and had this problem, ironically just a few weeks ago, I installed existenZ 6.0 with stock kernel to see if I still have the problem. I don't get alot of calls so it will be a while before I know if it solved it for me.
Well yesterday i switched to the latest stock rom and kernel. No root relocked bootloader and no tweaks what so ever. The problem still remains so i'm going to a repair center today because it is most likely a hardware problem
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C6603 met Tapatalk
just found this:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Xperia-Z-internal-speaker-issue/td-p/477913
When i run a test in diagnostic app for the internal speaker and i press the right top corner the sound is working. So deffinatly a hardware problem. Going to bring my Z to a repair center.

It's a hardware issue I'm currently having, shaking the phone, or turning on speaker works for me.

Hy. Y flashed the rom on my i9305 and y had to reflash and then only I made the camera work flashing boefla.ok. but. I have no complaints other that sometimes its eating the battery in5 hours. Thank's
S5 Elite for S3 (i9305) problem.
Greetings,
Today I was charging my S3 (i9305) and turned off the power. I later discovered that my phone was still on even though I had turned it off. I found out that when charging my phone with the power off it rebooted my phone. I don't know if it's a problem with the Rom or phone. Help would be appreciated. (I have attached a picture of what my phone gets stuck on before it reboots). Thanks.

Hi,
Im not sure but maybe this is the old bootloader issue..are you on new or old bootloader? and have you installed agni kernel that comes by default with the rom? cause i thought that the reboot issue only was present in the boeffla kernels for this rom, which i have removed from the rom thread some time ago, because they were not stable.
It is definately not a rom problem, cause im using this rom every day (btw im on new 4.4.4 bootloader) and i didnt had any reboots from the 1st day till this time also not with the 4.3 bootloader, using Agni kernel 4.9 everything works fine, even offline charging works, but from this we already knew that offline charging was working well on new bootloader.

It must be the Bootloader then, since I have already installed Agni v4.9. Would you be able to send me the link to the right Bootloader for the i9305. Thanks Maho.

Well the case is that the bootloader is not something you can find separately and flash it for example like a flashable zip, the only way to update the bootloader is by flashing 4.3 or 4.4.4 official firmware from sammobile.com or any other site where you can download samsung official firmwares, and it has the KNOX feature included which really sucks, therefore these bootloaders are also called KNOX bootloader. You can check what bootloader you have at the moment by booting into downloadmode and in left upper corner of the downloadmode screen if there is a line saying ´´KNOX WARRANTY VOID´´ means you already have the new knox bootloader and since the new Android 4.4.4 now there is also a line in blue color saying ´´SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED'' which is the case with me.
If you like to update the bootloader you can do that, in my signature there is a link to ODIN guide, also there is a link in the guide for if you want to learn more about knox bootloader before you do anything, cause when you flash 4.3 or 4.4.4 official firmware the knox bootloader will remain forever with the device, its not something you can delete like an .apk file, the bootloader is part of the device structure.
This knox bootloader seems to cause problems with installing custom roms or applying root etc. (not for everyone though) but im now KNOXED for some time and never had actually any kind of problem installing custom roms or rooting etc. besides that i think that our i9305 is now getting old and 4.4.4 is probably the last official update to come from Samsung, so it doesnt really matter to be knoxed or not knoxed at this time IMHO and most of the people dont care anymore about warranty being void, but if you like to avoid such small issues like device rebooting by itself or any other issue caused by the old bootloader with 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 custom roms, i recommend everyone to update the bootloader if you plan to run 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 custom roms as daily driver.
If you are still not sure about this or you dont understand something, you can always look for more info in the general Q&A thread or just do some research on the internet.
Cheers
Thank you

Hey man sorry for late reply.
I think wifi direct isnt working then, for the audio skipping i think its related to your kernel settings, try other governors for example. I dont have this issue, music playing fine with me.
Air Navigation does not work. Sry bad english

Still having same sounds problem in external speakers
Via headphones or Bluetooth speaker.
Right speaker is not working on xosp rom, lineage, slim roms.....
Any developer plz help
Revert back to stock check whether it's hardware problem or software. No rom is stable but didn't have speakers issues till now. If still it doesn't work then try to flash any audio mod may be someone will work. Or stick back to stock & wait for stable ones.
Hello,
Like many others, my phone was solid on 6.0.1. My phone was on shamu-mmb31c image that comes with radio radio-shamu-d4.01-9625-05.32+fsg-9625-02.109.
After upgrading to 7.1.1, I started to have wifi/connectivity issues. No workaround was helping.
I started flashing older radios in hope that it will fix the issue. Even radio of 6.0.1 (above) did not resolve the issue. To just prove to myself that issue is not hardware related I flashed back factory image of 6.0.1 shamu-mmb31c and all the connectivity issues were resolved.
After above experiment, I came to the conclusion that the issue with 7.1.1 is not just the radio, reason being that flashing radio of 6.0.1 did not fix it.
For next step I want to flash 7.1.1 , then flash radio AND kernel of 6.0.1 over it. to see if it will give me a good result or not,===== having 7.1.1 and solid connectivity.
Now my question is,:
Will having an older kernel flashed on 7.1.1 cause any failure? Will it be a good test? Does it even make sense? What would be the caveat of having old kernel on 7.1.1 ? Will features of 7.1.1 stop working?
Thanks,
You can't use an M kernel on N or vice versa. Won't work.

Your issue is 7.1.1. Android N is full of issues that are causing many people to go back to android 6.0. Every Odd numbered release from google seems to be buggy ones.

I flashed radio of 7.1.1 over 6.0.1 and it did not cause any issues. This is a proof to what you just said. Kernel is full of bugs and that is hard to fix
Sticking with 6.0.1 for now! Maybe I should get back into using custom roms again!
Thanks.

Heck 98, XP and 7 were the only good ones. Dont even get me started on 10. I had to go back and revert over 300 PC to windows 7 when the 10 upgrade happed. That was just a nightmare.

I can confirm that.
Changed some things
Using lite stockROM of danvdh and Franco's kernel incl. speaker echo fix.
After debloat, decrypt and previous G-app(black) of TBO-team and removing Gmail and G-messenger it seems to work well.
Fingers crossed..., will report here.

basically you are changing all the parts. I am hoping Google do that in future updates!!! Of course I doubt that since they do not care about old devices!

It seems to me that Google changed policy.
Till now the changes made the N6 great again.
No encryption, dark interface when possible.
Aquamail is better than Gmail, Signal is better than G-messenger. Nova launcher is better than G-now launcher.
I replace/disable G-apps and G-services when possible.
No Google Assistant, no Fit, no Pay, no Game, no Hangouts, no Wearable, no G-drive, no G-now.
Runs smoothly, no issues. Excellent battery life. Good to have XDA.
