charge moto e4 plus - Moto E4 Plus Questions & Answers

sorry for the noob question but the moto e4 plus can be charge by turbo charge 2.0 or 3.0 ?? thanks..

I think no problem.
Better charge with original charger.

Nope it's only fast charging no Qualcomm quick charging. I own both standards of charger. No indication of fast charging in firmware. My g5 plus shows these indications

Moto G 2nd Gen support the quick charging?

I understand that it has the correct chipset inside the phone but does anyone know if this phone is supported by the quick charging? I sold my wife on the technology but now I have no idea if it will actually work?
I don't think it supports the new Qualcom Quick Charge standard, that said, just get a 2 Amp charger and it will charge very fast. Charging from a USB 2 port or a 500 mA charger and it will take forever. I use a Samsung tablet charger and get <1.5 hours to full charge.
Qualcom 801 & above support Quick Charge, G only has a 400

Not sure if they're compatible with the Moto g 2014. You can call Motorola and ask.

I made a conversation with Motorola staff, he has confirmed about the quick charge 2.0, moto g support it:
[07:20:32 AM] Hi, my name is Wilson. How may I help you?
[07:20:43 AM] Wilson: Good Morning!
[07:21:17 AM] khoa: hi, i just want to ask about the quick charge 2.0 tech
[07:21:34 AM] khoa: does the moto g 2013 support that?
[07:22:36 AM] Wilson: Absolutely! This device is compatible with any USB port on the Moto G versions.
[07:24:35 AM] Wilson: Hi I noticed you have been away from the chat session for more than 2 minutes. I’ll stay here until the next minute so I can continue to help you with your concern.
[07:25:22 AM] khoa: but on the internet they say that moto g doesn't support quick charge 2.0
[07:26:10 AM] khoa: qualcomm also doesn't list moto g in those devices that support quick charge 2.0
[07:28:11 AM] Wilson: I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Actually this device will support All of the Moto versions since last year. You will be able to use this charger in the Moto G.
[07:28:54 AM] khoa: ok, thank you

Right you're sir. Hope someone does that.
This means that the charger will charge the phone, not that it will charge it quickly.

AFAIK, even if a phone is quick charge capable, you need a charger that's capable of charging that fast.
Now as per the thread here, quick charge is compatible with this moto g, hence the need for quick charger 2.0

yes it will charge the phone,a usb does that also, and we too want to charge it ,but hammering heads to find out the speed.
But it is quite logical that results will not be that great as if they were so ,then in moto g feature list we would have seen quick charge.
even we all want to try as if charging time gets a hour short then it may worth it

is exactly what i said -.- btw i googled a bit and found this:
snapdragon 805: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/805
Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0 technology
SMB1356/7/8/9
Integrated HW
Voltage In = 9V, up to 3A out
snapdragon 801: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/801
Quick Charge 2.0
PM8941
Chipset SW
Voltage In = 9V, 2.5A out
snapdragon 400: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/400
Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0 technology
PM8x26
Chipset SW
Voltage In = 9V, 1.5A out
i think that this means that moto g has the capability, just like the moto x 2014 (snapdragon 801 and officially advertised by motorola), but seems it may not be as fast as snapdragon 801 or 805.
Does anyone has a "Quick charger"? so we can know if the Moto G 2014 has o has not this feature.

So as your facts say, moto g will take approx 2x time to full charge as of moto x 2014 ,bt g has 2070 mAh battery that is less than x's,
In a stroke we may be benefited from quick charge 2.0 too but with underachievements of Moto X capabilities

Suggest me a charger for my new moto x(1st gen)

Hi all,
I am from India and i just brought a new moto x(1st gen). I dont get a charger with the box. please anybody suggest me a gud charger. is our moto x supports turbo charging ???
You mention both 1st gen and 2nd Gen in your post. Which phone are you looking to get a charger for?
The 1st Gen (aka 2013) Moto X ships with a 1.15A (aka 1150mA) charger. Neither the phone, nor the charger support Turbo Charging. Standard 1A (aka 1000mA) or higher chargers with MicroUSB ends will work to charge it.
I don't have a 2nd Gen (2014) Moto X. But it and its included charger DO support turbo charging. As far as I know, you need a special charger that is compatible with Turbo charging if you want to make use of that feature. But standard 1A (1000mA) and up chargers will work to charge it at "regular" rates.
aside from the fact that we dont yet know which model you have to give you avalid answer this post belongs into the Q&A section
I've seen variation in charge times...
When i use a 1.2 Amp charger ... i can go from 10% to fully charged in ~1 hour . I have a Moto X (XT1053)
My partner has model : XT1052, and it doesn't charge as quickly - I'm not sure if it is because it is the wrong voltage (European model phone). i think Fast charge can be turned on or off at kernel level. Not sure about this however.
I think he is talking about the moto x 1st gen from flipkart which is available for Rs 18000 but without the adapter

If by "fast charge" you mean "turbo charge" like on the new X, that is a function of the new Qualcomm chip used in the 2nd Gen X. See -> https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge
As for the XT1053 vs XT1052 charging speed, they both take 5 Volt input which is standard for USB ports and MicroUSB chargers. The speed difference you are seeing could be due to the current supplied by the adapters (i.e. if your adapter is 1.2A and your partner uses a 750mA), OR if there are different apps running on the phone while charging. Example, if Google Maps/Navigation is running on the phone, it will charger slower than if GMaps/Navigation wasn't running.

I've found that some cables will not let the full current through that the charger is rated for. In not sure if it's due to voltage drop our what though, as I don't care enough to dig into it further.

Charging speed/ max amps

Hi. My old moto x is charging very slowly with any 1A ac charger. Tested with other moto x the charger is fine. I think this started happening the same day i let the battery drop to 0%. My moto x only draws 500ma, no matter what. Do u guys have ever seen this problem? I will try a reflash, but i think the problem is the battery... Any 2nd thoughts?

quick charge?

Hello, I have a quick question. Does this phone support Qualcomm quick charge? I'm about to buy a new charger but can't find this information anywhere. I only found that the turbopower charger is also compatible with the quickcharge technology, but no information about the phone
No, this phone is Moto Turbo Charge, which isn't the same as QuickCharge. However, I bought several QuickCharge chargers when I had a Motorola Nexus 6, and all of those chargers activate Turbo Charge on my Moto G5S Plus. Even my QC battery bank activates Turbo Charge.
I have more than one Anker charger that has QC that will activate Turbo Charge on my Moto G5S Plus.
Motorola turbo charge is compatible with Qualcomm QC chargers.
Thanks everyone you solved all my doubts. I'll get a QC charger as spare then

33W Charger

Are there any other devices with the same power output? I have various Oneplus chargers, and a couple of Quick charge 3.0, but would like a spare fast charger.

You can buy the xiaomi 27W QC4 charger it does 27-35W
realme x2 pro has 50W, so something there shud fit
I've tried various chargers but the SOC was >85% so it wasn't a proper test. With most charger (QC or PD) I've gotten 15W, including with my 65W PD laptop charger. With the original charger I got 20-22W. If it's important to check the power, I can wait until it's discharged and redo the tests, which I plan to do anyway.
For travelling, I find it a lot more useful to have the 36W (18W QC + 18W PD?) cheap Amazon charger with 2xUSB-A and 1xUSB-C, which has the same size as the original charger: https://smile.amazon.de/gp/product/B07WFDTJFR/
Let us know how you get on. I tried my Samsung 25w charger, Pixel 3 charger and the Motorola 18w charger. All of them charge at 12-18w only. Stock charger goes to around 27w
I've now tried all the chargers and powerbanks that I have, QC3 or PD. All of them cap out at 16W, even though they can deliver more. I got the original one to charge with 30W (at 60% SOC).
The original charger is marked QC3 but they are probably not following the standard.
From my understanding the Snapdragon 732g has Quick Charge 4+ support doesn't it ?

Yes, i've noticed the same. Around 27w max. Today i was charging my phone and observing the batt temperature. Kinda obvious, but the hotter the battery gets, the lower charging power it will deliver. Here in Brazil the temp this week is being around 36-42°C, so i put the phone over a bar of artificial ice. As the batt temp went under 35°C, the resultant "charging current" went to around 5500-6000mA. Doing the math, it was possible to arrive at the 27w result. (~4,5V x 6 = 27w).
When the batt temp was near 38~39°C, charging was down to 2000-2800mA (resulting to around 10-12w).
I also found something strange, it wasn't able to show the charging percentage with 2 decimals, as shown in this video:

For me GAN 65W chargers (Baseus) are good and universal quick chargers.
I have made a quick test in the thread Chargers and Charging speed
