Ringke Invisible Defender - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accessories

Has anyone tried this screen protector yet, looks like it will be very case friendly as it wraps all the way to the back, If anyone here has tried it how is the screen clarity ?

I do have it installed.
Not a bad screen protector, applying it was not hard. It wraps around the back, but I get straight line bubbles on the edge, which is not awful. Works with the cases, but sometimes cases push the bubbles in and you'd have to keep pushing them out. Overall, 5/10.
Screen sensitivity is okay, seems a little dry and there is a friction with the spen.

I'm using the same. It'll do for now. I may try the Armorsuit one next as it worked well on my N7. I rate it as a 6/10. Same issues as stated above.

This screen protector is waste of money. It's easy to apply but there will be a lot of bubbles and is sticky as well.

Do you also see the two rainbow effect lines on the left and right sides of the screen? Annoying to say the least.
4/10 for me

Here is my installation, fairly clean. No complaints but that might change

I hate this protector more than ever. It's so rubbery that my nail drags along every time I swipe or scroll. It's worse than the wet applications I've used in the past.

this is a pos product. Yes it does go on clear and wraps around but the plastic they used is so sticky that you cannot scroll and drag your fingers much less an spen. This must be the worse product ever!!!

Does this one have any holes or cutouts for the sensors? I can't see in the photos.
EDIT: NVM, I looked it up on Amazon, I don't like those cutouts. I'm gonna order it along with the protector for the Galaxy Tab 3 and use the Rinke one as a template to cut out of the other one. I've had a Tab 3 7.0 from IQ Shield conver on my Note 7 for a year and like it. Took a couple of tries to get the holes just right. Trying to get a good tempered glass solution is a headache, this option will keep me from going crazy till someone gets it right!

I bought one of these with a couple of Ringke cases but my note has not arrived yet...
Yours looks pretty clean, Can you come and apply mine for me? haha
How is it for smoothness? a lot of people here complaining about it being "sticky" i thought all protectors were like this for a few days... Has it gotten any better over time?

Yep, it was sticky but it smoothed out. I used alcohol on it and it helped clean the sticky surface. For me, it's great with the s pen. The annyoung thing so far is sometimes bubbles get pushed when I put the case and force it. Otherwise, no problem.
Here are some tips,
I did he steamy bathroom thing when applying. Make sure you have a clean surface.
I held a flash light between under my chin so I can see dust.
Have more alcohol pads on you just in case.
Air pressure can to remove dust or stickers, but the air can is better.
Check out the video ringke.com/go/guide

For those of you having problems... did you let the screen protector stay without a case for a few days as per the instructions? If not, that's why you're getting bubbles and lifting on the edges.

Hey guys a little update. I ended up removing the screen protector and I installed the Spigen wet install.
The reasons I removed it are:
It kept getting sticky. After I cleaned it with a alcohol cloth, it gets sticky within a few hours or a day sometimes.
After a clean installation, and being out of the case for a while, any case you put in, no matter what will get the edges pushed, which leads to some air gaps, then it creates bubbles.
Pushing our bubbles with such a sticky screen will damage and stretch the screen. I will upload a picture later of what had happened.
Overall, do not recommend for long term, for short term, it is alright.
I am trying he Spigen wet one, and it seems smoother, but the clarity is not as good as the Rinkge one, but still more than enough for me. Most cases for the note 8 really suck and will push most screen protectors up unless it is a case friendly screen protector.
Happy hunting.

This is my best screen protector for curve screens e.g S7,S8.
You need to have a very clean screen no dust and you be fine. Case friendly.

Try IQ Shield, I have it ordered. Better than Spigen from my experience with the S8+ versions.

question on screen protectors.

which do you think is better:
phantom skinz or invisible shield?
i tried both and invis was cloudy looking. phantomz is great but it leaves dents and impressions that won't go away.
sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

Just curious, but do you even need a screen protector? I've gone since the release date of the Hero until now and I have 0 scratches on my screen... it's pretty resilient glass they used

I had the invisible shield, put it on right as I unboxed the phone, it looked perfect. Starting peeling off about 2 months later, still has a nice fit on the screen but everything else is gone. Kinda mad I spent 30 bucks.
My friend got the ghost armor on his blackberry and i think its pretty good. I would recommend that, its a bit more pricey but well worth it.
Go to BoxWave.com
Look for the Clear Touch (anti-glare)
They make the screen look VERY black when off, yet allow you very clear access when on.....make sense?
Very protective....very hard.....custom fit.
I have been using since right before the TiLt.
This is NOT a flimsy screen protector.
And I have ZERO bubbles with this brand!
Thanks,
Bubba.
I have the invisble sheild full body kit...i dont use it if you need it PM me, 5 bucks

How the hell did you manage that? I am being way careful, and with a screen protector, I have a slight scratch on the screen... Aww good though.
I have some POS ebay $3 for 3 screen protector, which has a sticky side that loves dust. The outside is clear and has some "self healing" scratch removing stuff.
BTW I found that once the protective film is removed from the screen protector ( prior to applying) it collected fine particles of dust which caused bumps and little vacuoles. It has a high static attraction cover which Can be neutralized so the protector can be positioned and moved.
The way I did it was with windex. I sprayed and wiped/removed any clinging dust. Then shook off violently any windex, so only really small droplets were left. Placed the protector in position, which now slides with a firm push. Gently squeegeed off any windex with a towel at the edge of the screen, preventing any from going under it. The result is a bump free stuck on, reuseable dust protector.
I am using
8 gauge clear vinyl.
$2.99 a square yard from local JoAnn fabric. Works very nicely. For me has been better by far than the $20.99 invisishield crap bestbuy originally put on my phone. I do not have a cloudiness issue, and bubbles are easily worked out when first applying. 8 gauge is fairly thin, if you want something a little thicker you might go with the 10 or 12. 4 gauge was way to thin for my taste.
I've had my Hero since Day 1 and carry it in my pocket and there isn't a mark on the screen. I don't think you need a screen protector with this phone.

If I recall correctly, they'll replace it for free at one of their stores (probably in your local mall.) They told me they had a lifetime warranty so any time it peeled off they would replace it.
i got one of those cheap-o screen protectors from ebay. so far its working fine since i baby the hell out of the phone. That ghost armor is lookin really good i might just have to try it myself.
I put a invis-a-shield on my phone right off the bat and had it on for the first few months but in January it started pealing off then just vanished(fell out of pocket somewhere). The phone has gone 4 months sans screen protector and the screen looks brand new and is much slicker then with the protector on in terms of friction. The phone body is starting to show signs of wear, big chunk missing in the body near head phone jack from a 12' fall down the stairs and the end call button is stripped to just red.

Suggestions for screen protector

Decided I shouldn't go without a screen protector, looks like the tempered glass ones won't work well because the screen in curved on the edges. Anyone have experience with or can recommend a good one? I often see suggestions on here that I couldn't find on my own and I'm thinking one of you guys can help.
By the way i went with this case:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M15T2I3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1
I like it except that the camera and volume buttons aren't cut outs. It fits the phone well.
I appreciate any suggestions.
Same boat as you. The ones offered Amazon all seem to complain about them being too thin, bezel to bezel.
The only one that I have found for the phone that fits properly so far is listed below. It's not glass but works great.

Nillkin has crappy cases for F5321 that offer little more than scratch protection, and you're incessant advertising for them across the all the device boards is obvious, so you can hardly be considered objective. Please go troll your mother and go away. There are people here looking for serious solutions.

I decided to go with the Skinomi as well, put it on my XC yesterday. Very happy with the results, it's been a while since I have used a non-tempered glass screen protector and for some reason I was expecting the touch screen to be hard to use and the experience generally unpleasant. This wasn't the case and it fits perfectly. recommended.

I saw those but have seen to many negative things about G Color protectors to ever try one out myself. Lots of videos on youtube about them being crap.
I got these ones from ebay and they're a perfect fit. Quite easy to apply and cover right to the edge of the curved screen.
Worthwhile watching the video before starting. It's been on a few weeks now and no finger marks and the feel is good

I ordered one of those g color protectors yesterday. I'll be that guy that tests it. Should get it sunday. If its moot I'll try that skinomi one. I kinda want the skinomi one just for the rear protector.
edit: Ok got it in yesterday. Packaging was nice and it came with the normal included things. Putting it on was kind of a pain in the ass. This was mostly contributed to the curved screen but it is doable with some patience. I messed up putting it on the first time and lifted it up gently and repositioned it. The adhesive was just as sticky as the first time so there is room for error. I have a cheap jelly case off amazon on it currently until my devil case comes in from overseas but it does not have any conflict with the screen protector as long as you get it on next to perfect.
Clarity is good except for one small small detail and another really annoying detail. The small detail is you can see a line around the boarder between the glass and the "carbon fiber". While annoying I can understand that it's 2 different materials and I don't see how you couldn't have that problem. The really annoying one is it cuts off some pixels on both sides of the screen. It isn't really noticeable until i use reddit sync which then when viewing the comments it becomes apparent. It kinda irritates me but for the moment I'd rather have a couple of blocked off pixels then the screen exposed.
I give it a 6/10 mostly because of the cut off pixels. If it wasn't for that my initial rating would be more of a 8 or a 9/10. I will comment later on down the road if I experience the adhesive pulling up.

Lol, I am positive I saw your review on Amazon when I left mine (we also have the same case). Anyhow, although I disagree with the installation, I agree with everything else. Installation for me was slightly confusing, but really easy once I understood what to do. Air bubbles were a pain to get out, but that's to be expected. As for the quality, it's perfectly fine except for your two points. Mostly your second point: the pixel cutoff. While definitely bearable and not very noticeable most of the time, in certain apps it really is irritatingly noticeable. I would have to recommend against getting this screen protector and waiting until a better one comes out. I'm keeping it on until I find a really good case and/or a better glass screen protector.
Has anyone tried the Nillkin "Amazing H tempered glass screen protector"? Would really like to know if it's any good because I enjoy their frosted case.

BTW, their case for this phone is really thick. Not as stylish as their early, asymmetrical cases :/

This is not great, but is the best I've found so far. It's not got perfect adhesion on the edges, but I've tried the super soft screen protector, flat glass and curved glass with glue only on the edges so dirt gets under it. I'd love to find a curved glass one that has glue all over it instead of just a tiny but around the edges.
I'm also looking for a curved screen protector that "glues" properly (direct contact) to the entire screen, not just the edges.
It doesn't have to be tempered glass either, simple cheap TPU would work fine.
The ebay one mentioned above doesn't ship outside of UK, so it's no good for me.

I have a problem with that screen protector, it turns proximity sensor always on, so you can't access the phone in call.
When I removed the devilcase curved glass screen protector, the proximity sensor starts to work again.
Seems that roxfit screen protector has similar issue.

Good Tempered glass screen protector that even I could Install right first try!

Otao sent me their new screen protector for the Note 8, and I have to say, this is probably as good as it gets for normal stick on tempered glass protectors on this phone.
The box is pretty standard and comes with all the screen protector installation essentials.
The key to a good installation on any screen protector is making sure that your phone is clean and that you line up the protector perfectly. This is where the installation tray shines... I have installed protectors in the past on phones (feel free to look at old posts) and I can honestly say that this installation tray is the best one I have used... Initially I was worried because when I went to put the glass into it, it was tight. I thought maybe the sizes were off, but no, it was exactly the right size to make sure that there was very little to no wiggle room in there for the protector. This is good obviously because it only lets you put it in one spot, the right one.
Once you have it lined up, you just drop on the glass and make sure the edges are all the way down. (I just used the included microfiber cloth and went over them a few times.) Next you pop off the guide tray and you're done.
If you are using this screen protector without a case you will notice the increase in thickness, but it's not terrible. With a case however it fixes one of my biggest pet peeves.
You have to be careful when putting cases on when you have this screen protector installed because the bezels are so small on the phone that in order for it to actually protect the whole screen it goes pretty much all the way to the end. BUT this is awesome because the cases that I tried (ringke and rhinoshield) didn't knock off or move the screen protector, they came right up to the edge of it and sat almost flush. (I like this because I HATE when pocket lint gets caught between the protector and the case as I am sure many of you do.)
One thing I noticed is that while this protector does have the black bars all the way around it, it looks like they shrunk on the sides a little bit when compared to the Otao protector from the s8+. This makes it sort of a middle ground between the ones that have the clear sides but you can see the glue and the protectors that have black all the way around but cut off some of the screen. It's not perfect but I like how you don't lose much, if any of the screen real estate and you can only see a little bit of the adhesive.
Overall I would say that this screen protector (so far) is pretty legit. I haven't noticed any loss in sensitivity, no rainbowing, no clicking and no covering over any sensors. The dot matrix is visible under certain lighting conditions but that is to be expected.
I only just installed this protector and will update this post if anything goes wrong or changes, but if this is like my S8+ version, i'm sure I won't have any issues.
If you have any questions or anything let me know and i'll try to respond and get them answered.

Does it work with UAG cases? like the Monarch or the Plasma? those case really kills most TG protectors. even the domeglass. if you didnt put it on perfect, you can say 45 bucks byebye.

This one fits, the one from the OP 100% no, the corner rounding isn't flat enough. If you compare both on the pictures you'll see.

On Amazon.com it is available too.

Edge only. Forget about full adhesive, except whitestone. I've ordered two classic full adhesive @ AliExpress. A joke Bubbles, not adhering properly on the right and left side. And well the UAG wouldn't have fit with both too. Opened a dispute for both and got my money back.

Finally, Tempered glass inexpensive full back adhesive for the Note

Someone finally did it, a Tempered glass inexpensive full back adhesive for the Note 8, not just the edges. I have to say first that I was VERY Skeptical of this tempered glasses claim to have full adhesive and stick to the phone properly. I am one of those people who has literally tried an insane amount of tempered glasses I think Amazon had to offer, finally settling on the Dome Glass but if /when it breaks you are shelling out another 45 bucks plus the install procedure can be a bit much for some.
But anyway this tempered glass went on so easy with the provided guard rail I truly couldn’t believe it. It laid down and adhered to the phone with a little help from the provided squeegee then I just pressed the edges down and voila!! The ENTIRE glass protector lays down edges and everything no bubbles. Went on just as easy as a tempered glass for a flat screen. This tempered glass is just what I have been looking for since I got my Note 8. Well done… SingularityProducts
Pros:
1. Very easy install with tools provided
2. True tempered glass
3. Fingerprints and smudges are minimal and wipe off easily
4. No dot matrix
5. Touch screen sensitivity stayed not hampered
6. Was $13.89 when I bought mine, but now I see it is $18.89 still better than $45, $34, etc the others with this claim cost
Cons:
1. I truly could not think of one con, very happy with this product I am buying another right now in case this one breaks
2. Price increase from $13.89 to $18.89

I think I got something similar to this. Php 1,300 so around $25.
It isnt full coverage (It cuts the screen and leaves the curve where it drops off exposed) and this first one I got had a flaw in the adhesive and has 3 permanent bubbles on the adhesive itself.
I had this replaced then on the second one was perfect. No bubbles. Although one speck of dust made it through. It isn't easy to install and requires a lot of patience and slow application to get the bubbles out.
Technique for the is to let it adhere on the top then slowly work it to the bottom. Starting with the center then working to the edges also works but takes more time. It may have also caused the permanent bubbles to the adhesive as the seller who sold me this forced to press the bubbles out instead of working it out to the edges.
Pictures of the box, kit, and on the Note 8 to follow in a bit.
With the effort for this and the non full coverage I might consider the Whitestone Dome because I am tired trying out different protectors.
I have tried TPU (issue is the s-pen leaves marks on the protector), various edge adhesive protectors (some fit well some don't but all have the dot matrix and eventually dust gets in and in my use case of using the phone while walking in the rain water gets in), and finally this full adhesive but NOT FULL COVERAGE ONE). So far this is the best I have tried BUT lint still gathers on the edges and is driving me bonkers with the cleaning it out...

Lint gathers on the side but at least the touch sensitivity is not affected. Also part of the screen is cut off and the edges are actually exposed.
Also it is weird that the manufacturer kept the black border even if this is full adhesive and again NOT FULL COVERAGE.
I think these are the same full adhesive protectors offered at AliExpress. Ordered one 3 weeks ago. Crap. Bubbles, cuts parts of display left, right, top, bottom. Inacceptable, full adhesive or not. Got it refunded and would not order it again.

If it doesn't cover the edges then that wouldn't work for me. I'm glad you like it, but for me, it's worthless if it doesn't cover the whole screen.

Is it TPU? Is the Spigen one good? or maybe the wraparound Ringke?
Also which S-Pen Tip are you using the grey or the black one?

Iit's the Armor suit Wet apply one it's not TPU, but is a soft screen protector.
I'm using the black tip. the white one was too hard and really dug into the screen protector.

Yes adhesive on the entire back of the screen
Tip, if you start screen protector from the top and work down using the squeegee provided then you can work out remaining bubbles with your fingers as long as you don't trap any dust under the screen should be bubble free

Did you use the plastic jig that came with it? Some of the TGSPs i've bought in the past for my S8+ came with a jig like that, but they always set the TGSP about a millimeter too low so it wound up cutting off part of the status bar. NEVER enough to matter, but was still annoying. How's the alignment with this one?

Yes I used to jig that came with it and IMO it is perfect it sits "right" below the selfie cam yeah I think I am set for screen protection for now may be I will re-review in a couple of weeks, see how it holds up.
Here are some more pics to show screen coverage. Again I am not a photographer lol I use the edge screen Sidebar a lot with no issues.

Ringke Dual Easy Wing Screen Protector Questions

I just applied my Ringke Dual Easy Wing Screen Protector. It was quite nifty the way they designed everything for a pretty much dustless install.
My question for anyone else that has used this screen protector on this phone or any phone, does the horizontal line in the film from where the two backing pieces were split, Step#2 And Step #3, ever work its way out?
It's not real noticeable only from certain angles.
8/21 3:50PM EST - Fingerprints created fine with no issues
8/29..The spen does leave marks in the screen protector
It's so hard to try to get a picture of it

Mine will arrive sometime today. I'll let you know if I experience any lines of any kind within the view of the screen.
Can you tell me if the screen protector is smooth? Will it interfere with smooth movement of the S-Pen over the screen? Thanks

Covers both the left and right side of the phone and even goes over the rounded edge on the back
Here's a picture so you can see how far around the back it goes. And I took a picture of the sides so you can see the coverage around the buttons

I just got it installed and I see the horizontal (ever so slight) indention in the orange peel surface of the screen protector. Mine doesn't have any air under that line so even at the right angle, I can't get a picture of it. It's completely invisible when the screen is on and you can't even see it with the screen off unless you angle the phone perfectly to catch a glance of it. If you wouldn't have started this thread, I would have never noticed it and I'm very picky. Lol
That said, this screen protector is much nicer then previous PET film type protectors I've used. Very smooth and doesn't have that rubbery feel to it in the least bit. I don't see s-pen intentions after using it either. Huge plus! The install method made a dust/particle free install a breeze.. Probably the best $9 screen protector we're ever going to see again.

I just had a chance to fire up my phone and everything and yeah you can't see that line at all when the screen's on.. I think the last time I had a note was like the note 4 and I had a zagg film screen protector on it. And I know that thing had major orange peel and was soft and you could indent it with your finger or the s pen. This screen protector is nothing nothing like that
The install was great. They could have made the numbers on the tabs a darker color. When I first read the instructions and it was telling me the numbers I didn't see them
How about fingerprints and glare... I had their Matt one before on the note 10 plus I was very happy with that one

Fingerprints are definitely an issue with this screen protector. The install turned out so flawlessly that I can look past that.
There's no horizontal line.
Fingerprints wipe off easily and I feel like there's less than on just the plain glass. This is my favourite screen protector because I can swipe type easily with no sticky feeling and the spen glides right over it.
Will this work with the Otto Defender pro case?

Yeah, I spoke too soon in my previous reply. It definitely does, but not as bad as I've had with previous PET type screen protectors.
S-Pen does leave marks, but they fade. Not completely, but they fade quite a bit.
This is easily my favorite screen protector, and I've tried the cheap ones all the way up to Whitestone Dome on my Note 10+. I really liked the Whitestone Dome, but it just affected the fingerprint scanner too much. Plus they raise the price with each new phone.
So now my Note 10+ and my Note 20 Ultra both have the Ringke Dual Easy Wing screen protectors on them.
If you check the Amazon reviews for it, the first one is mine. Pics were taken right after installation.
I'm extremely impressed with this screen protector. I thought it was going to be rubbery and leave tons of marks on the screen when using the S-Pen, but it feels almost like the glass below it and leaves very little marks that go away quickly. To answer the OP's question from being a vinyl graphics installer over the last 20 years, you want to be VERY careful when dealing with folds and application material that go over the screen, and I'll explain what I mean by that. When you are removing the dust layers 2 and 3, you want to be careful NOT to run the squeegee OVER the one that is remaining on the screen, depending on which one you pulled off first.
Adhesive likes to lay down and connect to the screen in a horizontal way, so if you have a raised application material - the dust layer - still on the screen and you squeegee over that raised edge, you are stretching the glue that is designed to go straight down now around the edge, and when the second layer is removed, the adhesive is now bent over itself and creates a line from the adhesive doubled up. When this happens, you can't fix it with cure time or running the squeegee over it enough times, the adhesive is stuck to itself and can't be fixed.
TL ; DR - don't run the squeegee over the application material when installing because it will permanently ruin the adhesive and can't be repaired.
Seeing mixed opinions regarding the s-pen with this screen protector... Not sure if I should buy it.
For example this review made me doubt buying it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-...=cm_cr_othr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B08CZJL67L
