Most cases I've tried add too much bulk and want something relatively thin.

I ordered this case a few days ago and received it today. I absolutely love it. The phone still has the slim feel to it as well as it now slides in and out of my pocket with little resistance. The case has a very tight fit around the phone. I have noticed after a day of use that the phone has no lint on it. Part of the case is a smoke clear tint and the top and bottom are a dark gray tiny. Hope this little review helps. Part of the case is a smoke clear tint and the top and bottom are a dark gray tiny. Sorry for the blurry photos.

The case arrived today.
Good news: it's fairly high quality, looks great, is made of the new rubber-silicone blend material, and it adds minimal bulk and weight with great protection.
Bad news: it doesn't fit the T-Mobile HD2. Yes, really....even though their ad specifically states that it does. It's too late tonight to reach their customer service, so I'll be calling first thing tomorrow for an immediate refund.
It's clear that this is cut to fit the "euro" HD2, as the only fit problem is the fact it can't quite streeetch all the way over the bottom lip of the phone, and it's obvious that 1.5mm less length in the phone would make the case fit perfectly. It even says on the placard in the packaging that it's for the other model
In the 3rd and 4th pics below you can see the space it won't quite stretch to cover (sorry about a little lack of clarity in the pics...it's hard to shoot macro in available light at dusk lol)
The search goes on. Next I'm going to try the one reganH22 posted above...and these are all just to keep me occupied 'till the otterbox case gets released

Just got my case in today; absolutely perfect! One thing though, the case covers my mic at the bottom...have you experienced people having problems hearing you? I have a TPU Candy Shell case for my Nexus One that has a hole for the mic and I have no problems with people hearing me.
Thanks for posting this case, the eBay seller is GREAT and this is exactly what I was looking for. I love TPU cases like this because they don't add bulk and aren't flimsy like silicone.
I posted this in another thread but it works in this one too...
the capdase hard silicone case works great with our version as well...just off slightly off at the bottom by the microphone but people can still hear just fine.....very snug and not feeling loose...it keeps the contour of the phone on the back which i like and it still keeps the phone slim...totally transparent...covers the camera in the back so it can be left on a table without suffering any scratches to the chrome bezel or the camera lens...looks sweet...cost is $13.40 shipped and arrived in 5 days from hong kong

Looks like the same one from the holster thread. From what they said this one works well for holding the T-mo hd2 with the screen in. The picture shows it held screen out, but I never understood that.
Anyway, the holster with "OP" on the clip is the good one

Funny! I had no idea until you just posted this. I've never had anyone tell me they are having trouble hearing me. I think the little gap there allows it to pick up the sound.
My guess is they screwed up and made the cut out on the wrong side. Looking at the TPU case that T Mobile sells (the pink one), their cutout is the exact same size, but on the opposite side. They probably used it as a template and then screwed up and reversed it. Check it out. Still love this case, regardless...
FIXED! 10 dollar cases rule.

Tell me youre kidding. I just read your post after ordering this case yesterday. I verified it should fit in every way possible. There screen shot http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=HTC&model=HTC+HD2&cat=CASES&skuno=88318# showed a Tmobile US version with the case on. Then I watched this video and they used a Tmobile US Hd2 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utDmDOi95Ps. I've already contacted them to not send it if that's the case and save everyone some trouble. As well, they should take the add down if that's the case or at least take the Tmobile USA references out of their add.

I purchased one several weeks ago and had to make a cut for the microphone also. Apparently this issue have been corrected. I just ordered another one off Ebay for little over $5, expected the same issue, but this one was corrected - no cutting needed. Fits perfect. This case is perfect for case within case.
Recently purchased a JavoEdge Case for my NC...and really impressed! Holds the NC in securely, looks great and functional. Genuine Leather, all ports etc available.
Anywho...just my opinion if you're lookin.

Have tried 5 different ones...this by far is the best of the bunch I've tried. I may end up grabbing a second case from them...the Standing / Easel cases look good as well. Might get one to swap out as need arises to go hands free, etc.
I've ordered a flip case from JanoEdge. I figured even if I don't use the stand I'ld prefer to flip the top cover over rather than bending it back with the book style. I like how it protects the frame, I don't have a skin on mine.
Can't wait, I don't have a proper cover for my nook color, been using makeshift ones. These look great!
Do these cases have the little bit of a cutout / opened up rectangle that the B&N cases have so you can hear the speaker better?

Ok. How bad is the sound deadening from the stand? I'd love a stand up case but I would like to be able to hear the Nook speaker if I want to hear something. So far there seems to be this one and the Roocase that seem to do the trick, and the roocase lacks a cutout at all.

I have read that it doesn't distort the sound, but wont know for sure till I get it. Can't remember where I read it, was searching around a few different places on the net for views of these cases. Can reply when I get mine, within a week or two I think (international shipping), unless someone else who has one answers in the mean time.
I debated between this and the Roocase. Went with this one via Amazon with some GCs. $33 AC. Went with the JavoEdge Editor Flip.
Ordered a Flip for myself as well. Don't know when it'll show up though, due to the weather in the midwest. It'll need to travel through much of that to get to me in Michigan. Can't wait for it though. I've resorted to carrying the NC around in the box it came in so that I can bring it to class with me!

Using the stand case on my wife's NC...minimal sound distortion. It actually helps redirect the sound toward you in a way.

I'm pretty happy with the JavoEdge editor. Magnetic clasp is nice, the sound is fine thanks to the hole cut in the case. All ports not blocked which is good. When you fold the top back, it does muffle the sound a bit more, but it works great sitting up and with the top flipped up (not folded behind it).
I am interested with this case as well. Can someone post an image of this flip case folded open (side view). I would like to know how thick it is with the stand folded.
Thanks.
I'm also interested, but am wondering how sturdy the covermaterial is:
will it protect the screen well enough if it e.g. fals on a stone/corner (and the obstruction hits the screen first)
is it more like hard plastic, or more like soft fabric (which will dammage the screen when it falls)
does it come with a screen protector, my screen is a fingerprint magnet
I have the same case (tweed version) and honestly don't like it at all. Functionally it's fine, but I hate how the edges that wrap around the screen are just slightly too small and so they don't stay square, but instead balloon out.. Also sticking anything other than loose sheets of paper in the pocket makes it too bulky to close. I love the magnetic "latch" though.
It does offer some significant protection, however. I have dropped my Nook from 5[ish] feet onto a hardwood floor, it landed on the bottom right exposed corner, and the device was a-okay. I'm certain if I had dropped it naked, the Nook would be dead.
I just ordered the Pioneer flip case in brown from JAVOedge's site. These are some very sharp looking cases with strong reviews on Amazon. They're the only cases I found that I really liked the styling--a nice, casual faux-vintage look, neither sporty nor girly (though the Cocoa Cherry Blossom case did tempt this hetero male) and few of them look like a day-planner from 1997. They also seem to add very little bulk, and are reported to be very comfortable in the hand while still protecting the NC.
The company's site has more styles than Amazon: http://www.javoedge.com/reflexeshop...odel.do?brandId=63&modelId=1026&category=1001
And for the heck of it, because there was a "coupon code" field at check-out, I googled "JAVOedge coupon" and got 15% off! http://www.retailmenot.com/view/javoedge.com
@Bandage (OP) I don't think any of their products are "genuine leather." They make a point of advertising "animal friendly" materials, which beats rooCASE's Chinese pig-leather in my book
I was just surfing amazon and found a case available that i hadn't seen before. It's by Devicewear, called The Ridge. I can't link to it as it's my first post, though i thought i'd give everyone a heads up.
Seems like an awesome case, with everything that I was looking for:
Slim profile, hard backing, folio cover, auto sleep/start, microfiber lining, decent price, available.
I ordered it and should be arriving tomorrow, i'll try to take some pics and have a short review soon if people are interested. I already have the poetic hardback, which is nice, but this one seems to be the perfect case for me.
That looks pretty nice, looking forward to your review.

Totally is a good marketing scheme. Made me realize that this case is in the market and I bought it because it looks like the best one for my needs available.
I looked up a review of their iPad case and they check out:

Quick Review and pics
Wow, I had no idea that me posting that would make it seem like I'm schilling for them. Not sure what I can say to have you guys believe otherwise, but oh well. I'm not affiliated with them in any sense.
Anyways, for those that would care, it came in today (yay Amazon next-day shipping!) and I took some ****ty cell-phone pics and have some initial impressions.
The Good:
Very slim profile, doesn't add much bulk at all.
While not real, the "vegan leather" does feel pretty good and grippy in the hand. Definitely better than the pu leather stuff.
The inner lining of the front cover has some sort of rubbery, felt-ish material that seems like it will protect pretty well against scratches n such.
All buttons, ports and speakers are well-exposed and have easy access.
I love the combo of hard case to protect the back and cover for the front.
Auto sleep/awake seems to work pretty well.
The Nexus does fit pretty snugly in the case, doesn't seem like it will pop out unless coaxed.
The little ridges in the front cover line up with a ridge on the inside edge of the case to prop it up at multiple angles. It seems really sturdy, and a lot less bulky than the giant deep ridges i have in my poetic hardback.
It also flips over for a pretty good typing angle.
The not so good:
The PU backing seems a little flimsy, I've never had one of these hard cases before so I'm not sure how sturdy they normally are, but it seems like it flexes kind of easily.
While the clamps on the top and bottom edges of the cover hold it in place pretty well, they are definitely pretty flimsy and don't "snap" like you would like them to. I can also see them getting in the way, it would have been nice if they would have found another way to keep the cover shut against the tablet, like a magnet or a clamp on the right side. At least it stays in place though.
Because the case is synthetic leather, it does have a chemical smell to it, which i'm sure will dissipate over time.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the case. I really wish the plastic was a bit sturdier, the poetic slimline from the pictures I have seen looks a little thicker. I really do like it, and I'm happy I made the purchase. If anybody wants more pics let me know and I'll do what I can.
Looks like the clips would get in the way if the front flap was folded all the way back like a book and then set on a flat surface. Correct?

Looks nice, but the $57 shipping tag to Australia is bloody steep. Although you have a regular $11 mail service to here its not tracked, and after having 6 things lost in the post over the years I can't trust it.

They are noticable, but don't get in the way nearly as much as I would have thought. I have noticed, however, that with the back folded all the way back the magnet is strong enough to put the tablet back to sleep, so I have to put a finger in between to keep it on. Definitely annoying.
This is definitely one of the better looking cases for the N7. Its a little pricey though.
Nice review.

Looks like a great case except for this point, definitely a problem. I wonder if it's possible to take out the magnet somehow, I don't even care about the wake/sleep function much.

Is it possible to fold it in such a way that the clamps are facing up the back case (when folded back for reading), so that maybe they can snap onto the PU backing?
I guess it's a bit hard to explain but since the front cover extends all the way to the middle of the back case, is it possible to fold that part to an opposite direction (instead of folding the usual line along on the left edge of the case)
If this works, maybe it can avoid the problem you mentioned in another post, about the magnet being too strong and put the device to sleep when the front is folded back.

I don't think there's any way you can get the clips to face that direction, but I have found that if you keep the cover folded along the natural crease, forming a little triangle, I've been able to avoid the problem as well as giving you a nice little grip to hold onto. Thus far I am really enjoying the case. Although now part of me wants one of the Portenzo or Treegloo cases, they look really nice.
Well, I know that not that many people are probably going to be buying an original Note anymore (especially the T-Mobile version, even though I just got mine a few days ago). But I just wanted to give a heads up on a case that I bought which I really like. Since there's no accessories section in this forum, I'm just gonna post it here. I don't have pics, sorry.
It's the Yoobao Executive Leather Folio (link below). I was looking for a case that wasn't one of those dinky rubber/tpu things. I bought my Note on Craigslist and it actually came with one of those. I took it off immediately. I wanted something like the Samsung Flip Cover, but those didn't look like they gave much protection to the phone, especially for the sides and corners. I can't remember exactly how I found the Yoobao case (probably used my good friend Google), but when I saw that you actually slid the phone into the case, I thought I would give it a try.
The shipping on this was amazing. I ordered it on Saturday night around 10:30pm, got it on Monday morning. Anyway, I slid the phone in and I love it. The leather feels and smells nice. It is as thin as they say it is on their site. All of the major cutouts (usb, power, sound, headphone, S-pen) are perfectly placed. The only one that are a little off are the top front call speaker and front camera, and the flash. They're not way off, but they could have been measured a bit better.
The case has a magnetic closure for the flip, which works well. It's not the strongest, but it doesn't flap open. Plus that helps for when I want to open the flip with one hand. The thing I like most about the case is the fact that it really does protect the phone completely. Many of us have learned that dropping a phone on a corner is the way to get the most damage. The corners and sides of this case are where the leather is stitched together, so it give those areas extra protection. If I drop it on the corner, it just hits stiff leather. Kinda like a shock absorber.
One thing I was unsure about, because I couldn't tell from the pics/video on their site, was if the case had one of those plastic screen protectors built in. I hate those. They always get dirt underneath and you're constantly taking the phone out to clean the plastic off. Well, this one does not have one of those. It's just the leather case with a cutout where the screen goes. It came with a separate screen protector, which I haven't tried, so I don't know if it fits or not. But it's nice that they threw that in.
So finally, I am very happy with my new case. My only regret is that I was debating between the red and the black and I got the black. Now I think I should have gotten the red.
If anything changes (like if the stitching starts to come apart), I will provide an update to this review.
http://kevikev.com/Yoobao-Executive-Leather-Case-Folio-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-LCSamNoteE.htm
Thanks for the heads up!
I don't know if this case has been reviewed yet or not but I just got it today. I had to find a case quick and it needed to be cheap since I don't know if I'll be getting the HTC 10 or LG G5. It also needed to be available for same day Amazon shipping since I couldn't go another day without a case. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to use this phone without a case but it's design makes it a little difficult for me. My palm is always touching the screen which causes some minor issues but my biggest complaint is while playing a game such as Trials Frontier. When playing a game like this, it starts to become uncomfortable after just 5 minutes of play. It's most likely due to the phones thin edges which are rounded but still sharp when holding it horizontally.
Anyway, this case fixed all of my issues. It still keeps the phone very thing but it provides just enough thickness to the edges to make the phone feel more comfortable when using. The case itself feels well made but I suppose there isn't much to screw up with a TPU case. All of the cutouts match up and the buttons stay very crisp. The case provides a nice grip without providing to much grip to where it becomes an issue sliding your phone in and out of your pockets. The actual fit of the case is very snug but it's still easy to remove. I suppose if you keep on removing it and installing it, there is a possibility it could become loose.
In regards to protection it's not going to work any miracles but I'm sure it would provide some kind of protection during drops. It's a super thin case that has the corners slightly raised. They are raised just enough to keep the display off of a hard surface if the phone falls face down or if you like keeping your phone face down on the table. These raised corners however only slightly sit above the front glass so dropping it on an uneven surface such as asphalt could have dire consequences. The back is no problem at all as the raised corners give the back glass more clearance.
If you're looking for a crystal clear super thin case that offers nice grip, decent protection and allows you to showcase this nice looking phone then you might be interested in it. If you care more about protection than the way your phone looks and feels then this probably isn't the case for you.
You can pick it up on Amazon for $12.99 (PRIME Eligible.)
Side Note: The Edge display keeps full functionality if that's important to you.

I did this late last night. I'll take some pictures today and add them.
i bought 4 luvvitt cases when they were like $4-5 on slickdeals including this one. haven't opened this one yet, but will. thanks for the review.
Does the back have texture? Does part of the phones glass back stick to it at all?
Also btw the sale on these cases (including the normal clear one) are still going on with the code SLICK007

Yes. The back sides are textured. I also just removed it to see if it stuck and no it doesn't.
I don't know what kind of deal that coupon code gets you but it its $10 or less then I'd definitely get one. I needed the case same day shipped through Amazon Prime so I just paid full price.

I also got one as well during the SD promo as well, Posted some pictures of it bellow and sorry if the quality is not up to par.
Just wanted to help out on the real pictures. It's fine I've been using the Spigen Tough Armor for now. Just wanted a clear one for home or if show of how nice the phone looks while still on case.
Thanks from the real pictures. I knew I was forgetting something today. My wife had me running around like a chicken with my head cut off today since we are having family over our house for Easter tomorrow.

can you detail your opinions about the build and pros cons of the Luvvitt cases.
Bought sleek armor and aside from the lack of lip it seems like a nice low profile case with some protection. Just dont like the fact that the phone when face down with the case does not have enough lip to protect the screen.
The home button rest directly on the surface.Testing this out I caused micro scratches on the home button which is naturally a bit raised.
Would love pics and opinions on what yours are like...
