I have a Unlocked Note 8 on T-Mobile. Somehow when I receive a text message, I also receive the same text message in my email. Anyone know how to turn that off? I do not remember setting anything up like this, never happened before.

You need to go to your email app options and disable it. It happened to me once and it was driving me crazy.
Thank you, couldn't figure it out. It was under settings uncheck Sync Messages for my Exchange email account.

How do you send a text message to an email in the galaxy note 8?
Go to settings email account scroll down and enable Sync Messages.

In the SMS app type in an email address instead of a phone number.

I did not develop this app and offer no support for it but thought I would share. Basically what this is doing is sending any SMS/MMS messages you receive to your tablet via GMail.
APP IS INSTALLED ON YOUR PHONE.
To get the SMS/MMS messages to "Push" to your tablet:
Go into Advanced Settings > Backup Settings and change the "GMail label to assign SMS" to Inbox.
Goto Auto Backup Settings > Incoming Schedule and make sure it is set to 1 min.
Drawback:
Unable to reply to most SMS messages.
Once the message is received on the phone it takes 1-2 minutes to get the message onto the tablet via GMail.

Um...dunno how to tell you this, but the Xoom can't send or receive sms. At all.

Edit: Nevermind...heh.
The application is installed on your phone. The Xoom receives the SMS via email. I am fully aware that the tablet currently does not receive text messages. This is just a clever way around that.

Oh. Whoa. Nice. Didn't understand the explanation. My bad...
New galaxy note owner here, I noticed while sending a text in the stock messaging app it has "Me:" on every message I send. It also has the contact's name to each incoming message. Is there any way to take this off?

I would take a look in the settings, its been awhile but I don't recall seeing an option to do so.

They seem to be enabled but after the stock email client updated a little after Oreo update, I no longer get a badge showing email count on my email icon on home screen.
Funny thing is, Google play shows update badge number count.

Hi all,
I have a strange issue that I cannot solve.
I am using the Samsung standard messaging app and all is working perfect.
I wanted to test the Google messaging app so I installed next to the Standard Samsung one.
The problem is that in the Google app not all messages are showing. It is random and has nothing to do with people having Iphone or not.
And not all messages of the same threat are not showing up. Some do and some don't.
If I open the Samsung app all are present???
Any idea what the problem is?
Thank you
Maybe some of the messages in the samsung app are probably enhanced messages, meaning they were sent as data like an imessage. So when Google messages looks at your list of sms, it doesn't see those

Ok, I understand. But I thought that Google message had also enhanced messaging. Or am I wrong?
And how could I solve this?
Thank you in advance

Did you enable and register enhanced messaging service for Android messaging? Failing that try this. View attachment 4617783

Anyone esle use Google messages?
I noticed that I'm not receiving all messages with Google messages. It's pretty annoying since having a reliable MMS is critical for my job and my business. And not having web interface for stock SMS app sucks.
