Was playing around in stock recovery when it started to update. Thought I had all that blocked with PD. Shut Down phone before it was ready to install. This isn't what I saw on day one when it just ended with No Command.
Guess I can't edit Subject Line ;+(

Did you block the 3 update services as well disable auto update under developer options?
Software Update - con.sec.android.soagent
System Update - com.samsung.sdm
System Update - com.samsung.sdm.sdmviewer
I'm not sure these are all of the services involved with OTAs but this is all I know of.

Can't find sdm or sdmviewer, disabled, but didn't turn off services on everything that said update, in till today. Along with auto update in Dev settings. Tried wiping cache in recovery. But still tries to update.

might have re odin the original files and start over. make sure youre not on wifi when you restart it otherwise it will start the software update download

What update is it? Havent heared of one.
But more or less what happen was it download before you use bk or pdp.
Then when your in recovery mode the files are areasy there and if you hit the update or check for updates it will start installing whats on the phone.

The current version of Armis' BlueBorne Scanner (1.3) doesn't accurately report the vulnerability fix on Verizon Note 8s, so I'm not confident it will do so for other carriers. I've been in contact with them and they're working on it. The update from 1.2 to 1.3 was supposed to recognize Verizon's update, but didn't.

When I updated it erased all my side loaded apps. Or at least I think it did because they are no longer there. some people said they didn't know how to delete side loaded apps. Well there's one way. How do we check how much memory is left on the gear? So i know when to stop side loading lol

Whoa! wanted and unwanted side effects of the upgrade.
Not sure how to check for memory.
I believe if your phablet is rooted, you can search for the .apk files from the stock file manager and find the samsung gear manager APK - if not no worries!

How do you disable the automatic update? I stopped the update. Deleted the .apk using Root Explorer but I still get the notification that it's downloading the update. Perhaps I deleted the wrong .apk??? In any case, I stopped the update but now there's the stupid notification that the update's pending.
I'm not rooted at all and got that same update today. I went through the whole shabang, it restarted and said updated after the whole android is updating deal. Something weird happened after updating when I connected to Kies 3 for the first time ever. Its says "Your device is not supported to update firmware via kies" Current firmware version : PDA: MJ5 / PHONE : MJ5 / CSC : MJ5 (ATT)
Anyone else come across this?? Like I said I'm not rooted and completely stock
D'oh!!! I never froze or deleted anything to stop the update. I didn't care if I got notification or not. I just had the icon this morning and prompts to update. BUT WTH?!?! It forced updated on me. what's up with that?! It normally prompt me to update or postpone, but this time it says restart to update. The only thing to do was hit continue and that's it. I couldn't stop it or cancel it.
So WARNING, if you wanna keep your root, disable the updates.

The 4.4.2 update - discussion thread

The release date of Android 4.4 KitKat update for samsung galaxy s4 has come closer for the United States today.
Source .
Sprint customers with the device should make sure that they have the current version of the OS running on their Galaxy S4, or else they could be in danger of missing the update.

Some one needs to grab the name of the OTA file. Then we can determine the link to grab it.
It'll be located in this directory with whatever the exact OTA filename is:

[Q] AT&T Software Update OTA Timer

Has anyone figured out how to manually install the KK OTA dlpkgfile without having the OTA timer block your request. Basically I pushed all 3 OTA files back into the FOTA folder and want to force install the OTA without having to go thru AT&T servers everytime. (No the advance time/date doesn't work)

If you want to get the update again just pop another activated AT&T SIM card in your phone and then check for updates. It will only work with an AT&T SIM card, the update servers check the SIM card for a serial number and only allow the update one time for about 90 days, then it is a free for all.

I already have the OTA though. I pulled it from the phone when it was initially released. I don't know why if it's placed back in to the FOTA folder it still has to check the servers

It probably won't work, they have ridiculous update procedures. If their update app doesn't handle the download then it doesn't update a Sqlite Database and the update is a no show. I spent a few days hacking through it all and couldn't find a good method for forcing the update. Your better off flashing back to 4.2.2 stock and rooting then checking for the update. DO NOT DELETE OR CHANGE ANYTHING STOCK if you want it to succeed.

At&t update - 9-25-2015

I decided to try pressing the update button and it actually said there was a update available. It is downloading right now. I was on the latest update before this.
Downloading now as well, 670.86 MB file.
Can anyone confirm yet that this is 5.1.1? Or something else?

I imagine they'll update this page with a changelog whenever they officially announce the update:
https://www.att.com/esupport/softwareUpdateArticle.jsp?sid=KB426710&cv=820
(Still only shows the August 10th Stagefright patch at the time of this post)
I confirm it is 5.1.1
Is there a way to reset the download timer?

You can try setting the date 1 day forward, worked for me.
I'm so surprised that AT&T released an update. Now if only there was a way to do what they've done with the regular GS6 on XDA and make mini updates for those of us still on OE2
Will there be a way to retain root and upgrade from OE2
I see the version change to 5.1.1 also, I heard RAW image support was going to be added to camera but I don't see that.
I get a error every time I try to install the update. Does anyone have any suggestions?

No, I think i remember back when every else got the updated they said RAW is support but you had to download a camera app that supports RAW. It wasn't added to the stock camera.

For the S6 there's a way by taking the ota .zip and working some magic, but I'm not sure if anyone has done it for the edge.

If you are looking for a big change and a big reason to unroot and update. There isnt. I was rooted with 5.0.x for over a year. I loved it but got bored. I unrooted and went to stock 2 days ago and was going to root again until I saw this update today. It's snappy, clean fully of bloat but disabled a crap load of apps. It's OK but like I said if looking for a big change. Wait till 5.1.1 has a solid rooted rom first.

If you need to unroot and get to stock ROM you need to flash stock ROM in ODIN

I installed the update yesterday and overall my phone runs MUCH better, multitasking is greatly improved and I've noticed I typically have much lower system ram usage than I had previously on 5.0.2. I did turn on Enhanced LTE and it still is draining my battery by quite a bit, I went to sleep last night at 59% and woke up at 36%, battery manager listed Cell Standby at 31% battery used. I also tried and was unable to enable UHQ Upscaler audio, not sure why that's the case. The option is simply greyed out.
