Hey all,
As the title says, i own a Note 8 Exynos Model N950F and there is no OEM Unlock in Developers option. Can anyone confirm the same? Exynos Model Only.
Regards
**Mod edit** - some info on how to get OEM Unlock in dev settings here thanks to @dr.ketan
Hi.
I have this option on my exynos note 8 duos.
I'm on the software version N950FXXU1AQHB (Basebandversion) (DBT).

By duos, do you mean the dual sim model? What is your model number?
Yes, i mean the dual sim Note 8 (Duos).
The Model in Phoneinfo is SM-N950F (not FD).
I don't know which modelnummer is used internal (F/FD).
But in the Software Version it's only the F (without D) too.
If you need/like any screenshot, let me know.

Interesting, thanks for the info. That's very strange. The OP also has the 950F but reports he doesn't have it. It looks like your language is German so I wonder if it's a difference between European models and the Korean models. Thanks again.
The Korean model SM-N950N definitely has it... I have it enabled.

Any guesses why the OP's 950F doesn't have it? Another person reported his 950FD doesn't have it either.

Not sure why that would be removed from the European models. Very strange indeed.

Yeah what's really strange and confusing is one persons 950f has it while another's doesn't. I just don't get it. Have you had any updates pushed to your device or anything? Have you checked your software version against the one reported by Maverickluke above showing N950FXXU1AQHB?

Directly from Samsung, also Samsung Online Shop
Have also the Note 8 from Samsung. Here as well OEM visible.
Only difference is that it says Allow the device to be unlocked instead of bootloader already unlocked
I have got call from dealer that demo piece available with him and I have read this thread in morning so little worried, visited store and confirmed that
Indian version N950F/DS (dual SIM) 64GB have this option.
Here attached SS
Also somewhere read there is no download mode with regular combo. To add, Vol down + Biby + power will reboot to download mode and same way Vol up + Bixby + Power to recovery
So only UK 950F doesn't have it? I ordered mine internationallly just to get exynos version in order to root it and I believe it's the UK version I'll be getting. Now I'm worried and wondering if I should cancel my order.

Where did you read that? The 950F is the Global model not just UK.
The only ones that are not Exynos are the US models N950U which have locked bootloaders

i bought it from South Korea, the 256Gb unlocked version. Now just trying to debrand it.
If you're worried about bloat, I'd suggest BK Disabler from the PlayStore or if you are more comfortable, ADB.
Alternately, I am inclined to agree with @henklbr; a F branded Note would give you root and less bloat.
Not sure where you guys got that idea, it is quite possible to flash different firmware between similar models. You can indeed flash different CSC as well, assuming it is ported for the new phone so that the flash doesn't mess up any partiotions.
Please don't spread misinformation just because you don't know how things work or how to do something.

I found that the Canadian file has to be the XAC version and following the S8+ guide does work...follow it to the letter...still, if the device is unlocked...you should be able to flash the other carrier firmware and insert carrier SIM...I can't test beyond Sprint though and since my device is the XAA version my results may be different...if you are successful with the S8+ guide...let us know

the korean N960N has the same specs as the Fs.
so its a exynos chip and not a snapdragon.
this is my second Korean Note and have been extremely pleased.
no visual issues like some have reported on ither device.
Just flawless.
concerning logo( carrier stuff there are 3 or 4 carries in Korea so you are likely to get one of those.)
since i have rooted mine, i have rebranded csc to my sims carrier.
usually they ship region unlocked. When i buy from wondamobile,
seals is broken but it is probably to remove the lock. they make a 5 minute call to lift it.
these phones don't have the oem unlock vanishing issue either.
the Korean version has no snapdragon. Does the Samsung logo appear on the ignition? but do you need to change them to work with your operator? but does it have any restrictions with respect to others?

but does it also work in other regions? are there any preinstalled apps? Ke stock European firmware, not Korean can you flash?

like any rooted device OTA will stop working. you will have to manualy downlaod firmwares to keep it up to date.

Hey 5G Pioneers,
I am wondering can I flash the sm-g 977b firmware onto the sm-g 977n device through the Odin? Did someone make it?
Since these two models are all using the same Exynos 9820 chips
And from my previous experience of using my galaxy s8, Samsung actually enabled me to flash the firmware in different regions only if the devices were using the same chip version.
I am currently in Australia. The Korean version of 977N is much cheaper, and it seems that is the only network unlock version that I could buy from the market.
Not sure where are you in Australia but I bought mine from a Telstra Sales Rep (based in CBD, Melbourne) where he got a discount code and gave its to me for AUD 1400 for the 512 GB Majestic Black Version, unlocked , I'm using Optus, VoLTE, VoWIFI works fine on it.

On Sammobile website, I found 4 firmware Korean variants. I tried getting more information on the "KOO" variant to see if its a stock Samsung firmware without Carrier Apps/Bloatware without luck. I couldn't get any detailed information whether it can be flashed over any other Korean variant. Can anyone here clarify if its possible and If yes provide further details?

Hi,
I did disable the apps which is great, but there menu operator items as well!
Edit : Forgot to mention that the boot logo is of the operator as well.
I was researching something about using the PIT file along with the firmware but can't find the specific PIT file for S10 5g.
Use Odin or the modified version to flash combination firmware. Then flash your desired firmware.
This is the only way I am aware to remove all carrier bloatware and boot logos.

I am particularly interested in this as the 977N variant seems to be dual sim. I notice it also has additional bands to the 977B varient and I would like to put the telstra firmware to ensure operation of VoLTE VoWiFi RCS etc.
The main purpose is to use at home and overseas. So more bands and access to features (VoLTE, VoWiFI, RCS etc. on my telstra SIM and local overseas SIM) when overseas are the goal.
Unless someone can confirm that the 977N with vanilla firmware will support all the telstra features?
Thank you for your assistance
The specs for both models are same including CPU but 960F (Asia) support DUAL sim whereas Korea only SINGLE sim.
If I odin 960F to my Korea model phone, will it still work? or probably freeze on E.g. Settings when I click Sim 2?
How about the Samsung Pay?
If firmware 960F can work, can I use Samsung Pay in Asia? or they are some in-built mechanism E.g. Knox that will prevent this?
Same question. I have a SCV38 - Japanese KDI/AU Galaxy S9. I have only Android 9, but there are a bunch of US Snapdragon Galaxy S9 based on Android 10. Can I flash this (US firm on JP phone)? I just want to get to Android 10. I have a feeling that wont work, and I checked for the S8 - US and JP phones, altough based on QC chipset had other hardware differences...
Anyway, appreciate any advice on the matter.

As long as the specs are the same you can flash any region rom. You will just have to try it yourself and see if both sims work. Google pay shouldn't have any problems. The only problem you might have is some roms have different baseband files so you might not get network connection if it's not right for your region.

Make sure in download mode you don't have RMM prenormal if you flash Android 10 and it's prenormal you will never be able to get rid of it.
