Zooper Widgets - Weather Widgets Issue - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hello All,
I have a T-Mobile Note 8 and am having some issues with Zooper Widgets, specifically the weather widgets. My weather widgets are not able to pick up the current location, they just display unknown and no weather information.
I have checked the permissions on Zooper and it has access to location info. The only thing I am doing is mapping the on tap action to Weatherbug (never been an issue before). I will check to see if it works with some other weather app.
Anyone seeing similar behavior? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I noticed this too, i wasnt able to fix it.

Try and change the weather provider in Zooper - I had to make my Yr.no and it worked

Samsung/Zooper Weather & Dr. NO
My S8+ had similar issues. I changed the weather provider to Dr NO in Zooper and the individual templates which corrected the issue.

I am having the same issue. In the past, changing the weather provider would correct the issue. But that no longer works. Anyone else having that problem?

I have had this issue since my note 4, I tried changing weather provider, but never worked, same issue with my note 7 and now note 8, I finally gave up, the weather function is useless , at least for me

Me too
I'm having the same issue with Moto G5. None of the weather provider settings work. Come on, Zooper! Fix the bug!

Stock Weather & Clock widget

I have started using the LG Stock Weather & Clock widget on my Optimus 2x.
I am finding that when I go to a different geographical location and refresh/update the weather it does not change to the location I am at, instead it just stays as the location I entered when I added the widget to the home screen.
Does anyone have the same issue?
It's not an issue, but a feature! This widget does not auto-update the location as you may be used to from Beautiful Widgets. It also has no auto-refresh schedule. I have seen it auto-update the weather conditions at regular intervals, though. But not sure what it's schedule is.
That's a shame it doesn't update the location. Hopefully they add the option in 2.3, might have to move to Go Weather instead.

Weather widget with Null?

Has anyone been successful at adding weather widgets to the Nova home screen? Is it possible for updates without tethering?
I searched the topic several places, but have been unable to find a clear answer.
Thanks

I installed Android weather & clock and sense analog clock widget and both work fine. Have to manually configure town and disable all GPS and things.
Mast3rbug
I went through quite a few to find a widget that displayed ok on the small screen. Eye in Sky was decent but I'm currently using Beautiful Widgets.
To my knowledge you must be tethered for third part widgets, otherwise you have to use the stock Weather widget.

Best bet would be getting the stock samsung weather working.. You wont require a internet connection on your gear by doing it this way..
Accuweather....apk & WeatherDaemon.apk are needed on your phone for Samsung weather to work. Refer HERE for more info.
You can then use samsungs stock weather widget for custom text widgets, this is more a advanced user method tho.

The thing that annoys me about Samsung's stock accuweather which the gear seems dependent on unless you tether it to the internet is that it requires you to be outside with GPS on for any updates to show as far as weather, temperature, ect... At least that's what I determined on my setup and I looked everywhere in the widget's settings ect... on the phone for a way to change that and can't.
Need Help locating app
Can anyone tell me what this app/widget/lockscreen is? This is a screenshot from a youtube video, but its exactly what i'm looking for. bit.ly/2FQsXbf

Clock-Weather-Schedule Widget

I love the original Clock-Weather-Schedule (or called Today Briefing) widget from LG Optimus 2X very much, but I cannot find anything near to it in the store. So I tried to install the Apk on Z3 Compact and give it a try. Ok, it works but not 100% (see screenshot).
Any expert here can help me out? I see 2 issues here:
1. The numbers in the clock is a bit mis-aligned.
2. It's supposed to show today's event, but it always show "No Events".
The apk is attached.
Hard to say.
It's probably an issue with the screen resolution/DPI. I don't think that you can fix that.
Maybe you could install the "3D Digital Weather Clock" from the Play Store and place a calendar widget beneath it. Would look similar.
Try Chronus
best for me is dashclock (clock, calendar, weather, and next calendar event )
I have extracted the resources from this app and ported it to Zooper Widget with my own enhancements on displaying calendar events.
Here I enclose the template for Zooper Widget Pro for everyone who likes this widget. Enjoy!

[Q] Using the Stock Weather Widget with a Different Launcher

When I picked up my S6E, I really liked the stock Weather widget that's part of TouchWiz. I always find myself back using Apex Launcher and my S6E is no exception. I've installed it and set it up just the way I like it and the one disappointment I have is the stock weather widget isn't available
When accessing widgets from the app drawer it doesn't even show. Long pressing on the home screen, and selecting widgets that way shows the "weather" widget as a 4 x 2 widget but regardless of where I try to put it - even on a clean screen gives me a "not enough space to place . . . " error. It's really a 4 x 1 widget.
I know there are options like Zooper widgets that have addons with a similar look but none has access to the built in Accuweather app.
Anybody figure out how to use the stock weather widget with Apex or any other non-TouchWiz launcher?
This would be awesome! !

I've tried to get it to work on both the GS3, GS4, GS4, Note 3, etc ... and nothing works...so definitely not a new problem! I was able to tear it apart enough on the GS3 to get it to show on Apex launcher ... but it wouldn't update, show location, or work when you clicked on it.
As to this point, I haven't found a widget I like more than the stock TW one. Beautiful Widgets used to have some nice looking ones, but honestly it's been about 3 years since I've even looked at the app so I wouldn't know what they've got these days.

Here's my solution, adapted from the discussion HERE. I use Zooper Widget Pro and the S6 Zooper Widgets Theme. It's by far the most spot-on widget compared to the actual stock version. In fact, from the stock clock and weather on the lock screen, you really can't tell the difference between it and the Zooper widget version.
1. Install Zooper Widget Pro
2. Install the S6 Zooper Widgets Theme
3. Install Desktop VisualizeR
4. Create a 4 x 1, 4 x 2, etc. Zooper Widget and select the S6 Widgets Theme. The widget option that looks exactly like the stock version is the one with a "45" in the title (the angle of the shadow)
Land it on the desktop one row below where you actually want to place it.
5, Long-press the home screen and select Applications - Clock ---> do this twice
6. Open Desktop VisualizeR and create a shortcut the following way: select a transparent image (attached below) as the shortcut Image. Click Select Action - Others - Activities - Weather - Weather. Title the shortcut "Weather". Select Apex Launcher as the target launcher ---> do this twice.
7. Now, long press on the 4 shortcut icons, one at a time and choose edit. Change the clock icons to the same transparent alpha you used for the Desktop VisualizeR shortcuts and delete the shortcut names. For the weather shortcuts, just edit and delete the names.
8. You're now left with for transparent shortcuts.
9. Long press the clock widget and select Resize. Using the nodes on the widget, move the top up and then the bottom.
You're left with the Zooper Widget with transparent shortcuts overlaid that open the clock and the stock weather app. There's a few shortcuts you can do like set the default click-on action in the widget settings to open the clock which will eliminate the need to add those two shortcuts but this way gives you a little more flexibility like assigning different actions to the hour and minute location.
Only very slight annoyance is that the widget uses open weather as the provider which sometimes slightly mismatches with accuweather re: location name and temperature.
Worked very well Jeff. Love it thanks.
