Hello,
I installed AVG from the android market to my rooted NC and when i uninstalled it. . . I wasn't able to get rid of the message ("this phone belonged to:xx protected by antivirus" at the lock screen next to the time.
How do I get rid of it?
I though the uninstall would get rid of this addition, but it hasnt.
HELP!
Try reinstalling AVG, disabling that feature, then uninstalling AVG again.
reinstalled and no option to take it out
How do i get rid of it. Help.
How did you uninstall it?
After you posted, I installed it from market, ran a scan, laughed that it found super user as malware, saw the banner on the the lock page, long pressed the icon to bring it to desktop, long pressed again and dragged it to the trashcan and did not release till I got the uninstall pop up. Looked at lock screen and banner was gone.
I am using Launcherpro. I do not know if other launchers uninstall apps like that, adw does too.
THANKS!
thanks! it helped alot. yeah, the problem was that i was using the market app uninstaller. I am using launcher pro and your instructions got rid of the text.
Thanks!
yup Launcher pro works.
just the treat.
Cheers
After successfully rooting my GT-i8190 via vroot, I changed the Chinese version of Superuser to Supersu with no problems. However, I noticed another Chinese app on my phone that I cannot get rid off. It appears to be a Chinese version of Google Play... I keep getting notifications on my phone telling me to update my apps and when I click on them, it takes me to the familiar 'installed apps' section of the Play Store - all in Chinese.
I've tried deleting the app itself from my apps menu by dragging it to the 'remove' trash bin but nothing happens... It stays in my apps. I also tried going into the normal Google Play Store and finding it under 'My Apps' there, but it doesn't appear.
Does anyone know anything about this app? I haven't found any info on it while searching the forums, just the Chinese Superuser app. Should I freeze the app?
Here are a couple screenshots of what I'm encountering:
Update: I should have tried this before, but it slipped my mind. I believe I have solved the issue. I went into application manager and forced the app to stop and waited to see if there were any issues. There were none. I uninstalled it from there and all seems to be well.
Hey guys, so I just got the S5 a couple of days ago and I love it. However, I'm having some problems with the push notifications of certain apps not coming through, yet they do easily on my Nexus 7. They weren't a problem on my Nexus 5, but I have no idea why it's not working properly on a brand new phone like the S5. Each of the apps, like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat to name a few, are all listed to push notifications and they're set in the main Android settings, so I have no idea. Anyone else have the same kind of issues like me?
To note, I've already factory resetted my phone several times, cleaned out the data, caches, etc and still no use. I am rooted though, but I doubt that should make a huge difference, right? And right now, I'm not using Xposed framework, but before when I first noticed the issues, I was. Thanks in advance!
Taking a longshot here...but have you updated that Samsung Push Service app through the Play Store (and all other apps for that matter)?

if you used Titatium backup to restore any apps that use push, that could be your issue. I restored facebook, instagram , snapchat etc and the push never works when i restore, you need to clear the app out, and just login new for each push app.

Yeah, I did that initially, but that was the first time I got the phone. Now, I've been clearing out the caches and data for each app, uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the Play Store, but still some of the apps don't have the push capability unless I was just in the app or still in it. Some of my problem apps are GroupMe, Snapchat and Instagram. When I had my Nexus 5, that wasn't the issue at all.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?
Did you ever find a fix for this issue? I'm having the same problem...

Check out TB Restore Fixer on the app store. I noticed that when I did Titanium Backup restore, some of my apps were not working correctly and I couldn't reach certain parts of my storage, etc. After I ran it, it seemed to have straightened everything out. (Requires root, of course)
Hope this fixes your problems!
Same problem
I first started having this issue a week ago. I checked all the setting, factory reset, and I ended up switching out the Galaxy 5 through Sprint yesterday. E-mails and FB messenger app was working on data while I was driving home and I thought the problem was fixed. I reinstalled all the apps I was using and over night let the phone charge. When I woke up this morning I noticed two of the folders I made were removed and a widget for S Health replaced the folders spot. Thinking nothing of it I removed the widget and made it to work this morning to find out I had 3 e-mails waiting, a notification on facebook, and another message through FB messenger that did not come through this morning. I am receieving notifications if im on wifi but not through the data now and this is a new phone. I think this may have something to the 4.4.4 release but this is bugging me. Any new suggestions?
I have seen issues with sprint where phone calls are fine but data wont work in certain areas of the city unless you turn data roaming on it apears that the signals are ok for voice but not for data in thoes areas
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Data roaming is checked on, I did go in today and saw a roaming guard on data and turned it off but nothing yet. It's been two months and my push notifications are still not working. Figure I'd come here and bump again.
Im having same issue looks like no one has a solution for this... I get all my notifications while im on wifi but soon as im on data i stop getting some notifications. Very frustrating.
I thought I'd give the OP3T music app a go (having always used the Google Play Music one previously)
I've gone back to Google Play Music as the OP3T app isn't right for me.
Now, whenever I plug in headphones it starts auto-playing - but there's no "settings" in the app, or obvious way to stop it doing this.
Any idea how I can do this?
I'm on Beta 11, totally stock, not rooted etc.
Thanks,
Doh!
You can just uninstall it!
I didn't even think about that - figured it was a system app (that wouldn't let you uninstall).
Problem solved.

I would have figured that, too. But even if it were (and not able to uninstall w/o root), you should be able to disable it in Settings>Apps.
And yeah, the OP music app is totally useless. The lack of support for any type of playlists is baffling.
I am having an issue all of a sudden with the no navbar APK for note8 via tigerhood that I downloaded in a forum on here. I keep getting this pop up randomly throughout the day. Asking me "do I want to uninstall the APK" I don't know what's going on any fix for this I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks in advance
That appears with Substratum, but for me it only appears in the app sometimes... Nowhere else, so no it's not a big problem at least for me.

Its because of substratums latest update, it will try and force you to uninstall 3rd party overlays.
uninstall substratum and it wont happen anymore... next time you need substratum just reinstall it.
removing substratum wont remove the themes/overlays you have installed.
