Extra pen for some of you. - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accessories

Just a fun fact that I figured out yesterday that maybe someone would like to know. If you have a Note 7 laying around still. The pen works and fits in the note 8 perfectly. ?. Could be wrong but I figured this would go into accessories. Delete if needed.

I use S pen from my old Note 4.. carrying with me.. just disable s pen power saving and it will work even if original s pen is mounted in phone..

On each recall of the Note 7 I kept the headphones, charging cables and the spens. So I've got a stash of them now.

Keyboard dock for Nexus 7?

Only thing holding me back from getting a n7 is no keyboard dock (not bluetooth keyboard) and no microsd slot forcing me to buy the 16gb version which is still not enough. I know there is a workaround for the storage issue with otg but I would like a keyboard dock.
Ideally if there was a keyboard dock that has an sd card slot id buy it in a heartbeat.

Already purchased the n7 and am in love with it. Going to root it soon when I have some spare time. I'd love the option of sdcard storage for it and a keyboard would make it golden.

There isn't a dock I'm aware of, but the logitech bluetooth keyboard for Android works really well on the N7.

LOL... You purchased it a day after saying the lack of a keyboard dock is holding you back.
I've searched everywhere I know of in hopes of finding a Keyboard/Dock for the N7, but there is not one sadly..
I think it would be a little hard to work with the 1 input options (the microUSB) when building a dock.
Specially since its positions on the bottom of the tablet (portrait style)
I'm currently waiting for another OTG Cable to arrive.. I'm then going to rip apart my wifes Tab2 7.0 keyboard, and see what I can do about wiring in the OTG cable, replacing the docks current Samsung Connector with the mUSB on the OTG cable. Won't be a microSD option, but I'll have a keyboard dock (hopefully)

Lol I couldn't resist. This tablet looked great and the dev support is amazing.
When you get a chance to try to make that keyboard dock on your own please post pics and tell us how it works!
Also with an offer cable I can connect flash drives to the table correct?

why not just buy a usb keyboard that has an integrated usb hub. plug it into the nexus 7 via a usb on the go adapter?

And I've never seen a keybord with an integrated usb hub!

Because the point using the Samsung Keyboard Dock.. is the "Dock" part of it... the Nexus fix relatively well in the slot. Might need to carve it out a bit to adjust for the corners..
Going off your suggestion why not just buy a Bluetooth keyboard? Wait, no dock there either...

I'd advise seriously against that. I bought it, and in addition to being rather huge, the keyboard gets more awful with use. It's not even the size -- it just doesn't register keypresses sometimes.

the product Nexus 7 Keyboard Cover – Nexus 7 Bluetooth Keyboard Leatherette Folio Case from u Play (White Label) $49.99 is good and useful for the people who work with time management.
I'm using a Microsoft wireless keyboard (Model 2000) and it works perfectly, even at faster speeds (70 WPM). I just plug the wireless receiver into my OTG cable and it automatically starts using the hardware. Though this doesn't work if you want a smaller portable keyboard as this one is full sized, but I use it at home mostly so that's not a problem (I prefer having a full sized keyboard). These special keys even work: Mail (brings up Gmail), volume controls, pause/play, home, and some others that I can't remember.

Just picked up hip street with keyboard yesterday, was looking for something thick for protection more than anything! The case is heavy, bulky and the keys are cluncky. That being said it connects very well with Bluetooth and all ports and speaker are open/ accessible. Haven't tested to see how long battery for keyboard lasts ( charges thru USB ) overall I'm happy with this purchase.

Definitely thought of pogo pins too, but I thought I heard that they're only for charging.

I use an apple bluetooth keyboard and a blurex case to prop my n7 at the right angle.. I've found no disadvantage to this and my N7 anctually fits right in the gap under the keyboard so I can wedge it in between books and what not. It seems to be the best route right now.

Bluetooth Aluminum Keyboard Case/Stand - Similar to Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI...sPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en#ht_2264wt_1037
As the title suggests, it looks similar to the Keyboard Case offering that Logitech have for the iPads. So what's everyone's take on it? Looks pretty functional in terms of the keyboard, but in terms of a case, I wonder how practical it is.
Nice find I have been looking for this.
Thanks!
similar found for UK
Found a similar one on the UK amazon site called IVSO wireless bluetooth keyboard case for Google Nexus 7 Tablet (BLACK Keys) (by Gambolex). Has anyone used it yet? Just worry that the keys will come into contact with the screen as it did a similar case I had for my Vega. Size-wise it looks like a 7" folding PU leather keyboard case for my wayteq xpad. Took a while to get used to but seemed pretty good

wow that actually looks really nice! does the tablet "snap" into the keyboard when its being used as a keyboard (as opposed to snapping on as a case)? that is my only concern, having it slide off the keyboard and falling unprotected to the ground lol

I'm typing this message on one now. Very impressed with the quality. Size is going to take some timeto get used to though, but what else to expect from a 7 inch keyboard. The nexus just sits in the slot, feels quite sturdy but there's no clipping. Case clips over the nexus well, but wouldn't survive a drop.

i am typing on mine and very happy with it.
idea for manufacturer though....
i am sure that not all available space under the cover is taken by the battery and that there must be some added weight to keep it steady with tablet in the slot.
why not use all of the space for a heavy duty battery (heavy in weight as well) and put some pogo pins in the slot to top-up N7 battery

My IVSO keyboard arrived today. It took 7 days to arrive in Ireland from date of order (via Amazon). Keyboard feels solid. Looks good in use and when stored in the case. When I placed the order the photos of keyboard showed that there was no tab key, see (sorry, but cannot add links as I am a new member). HOWEVER the one that arrived has a tab key above the enlarged 'Q' key (along the same line as the number keys). I have attached some photos here. Apologies if I don't have the orientation right. Have been using it for a few hours now and it feels as good as the much more expensive keyboard I bought for my work IPAD (about euro90). The keys are a little crowded and I am hitting the wrong key sometimes, but in fact no more than I do as a hunter and pecker on a full scale keyboard.
I also took the opportunity when ordering to buy the IVSO OTG host cable (which with the Nexus Media Importer app) allowed me to connect a 16GB USB stick to the Nexus 7. I could open photos, videos and play music I have been told to be careful when order the cable as not all will work with the Nexus. I tried attaching a USB 1TB drive but as expected it did not show up as an available device. Am on the look out for a good 64GB or 128GB USB stick and when I locate one, I will try it out on the Nexus like the 16GB one. The OTG connection is a little bit wonky and loose. It doesn't feel 100% secure, but having said it has not fallen out yet. But it wouldn't take much to knock it out I think. Yet, for the price, it opens up a whole new way of increasing the (derivative) memory of the Nexus 7 and that is a great thing.
I think the key board and cable are great accessories, and I am using the keyboard to write this message with few mistakes for a hunter and pecker.
Also, if anyone is looking to convert their bose sound dock to a bluetooth device, check out the I-Wave device (again, sorry but I cannot add hyperlinks) which also arrived today and allows me to stream via bluetooth from the Nexus to my bose sounddock. So far, so good and if it continues to work out, then it will have saved me 100's of euros buying a specially made wireless/bluetooth bose speaker (there are videos on you tube showing a bloke demonstrating its versatility).

Just sent PM. The company supplier is Gambolex in China. My Amazon order page (for the delivered good) is saying it is now out of stock. When I ordered stock was low. But might be worth contacting them direct?
I have one as well with a tab button. My keys are extremely small... I like it as a case but it's not a great keyboard for me... Great to watch movies and play video games on while it's in typing position though...

Samsung HDTV adapter Question

I bought this HDTV adapter on ebay that says it works for the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 which it does. Unfortunately it does not work on my Sprint Galaxy s3.
I thought they used the same adapter. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121005082603
Very strange, I thought they were the same as well.
blog.clove.co.uk/2012/09/29/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-uses-s3-hdmi-adapter/
Have you tried on a different s3 or with a different cable?
I have only tried with 1 gs3 but differ cords. Cant figure out why it works with my sprint note2 but not my sprint gs3. I even did a factory reset on my gs3
Sgs3 uses a 6 pin adapter the note 2 uses 8pin physical size is same just more pins inside
Thanks for the info and I believe you from experience but why do all blogs say it fits both. It even says galaxy s3 on the adapter box

you should be careful with these and make sure that your dc socket can handle the stress of carrying the phone.

Note 8 vr headset compatibility

Hello

Though it is compatible, it will not be a good fit, the model number you brought is SM-R324. the model that will have a much better fit for the note 8 is the SM-R325 (SM-R325NZVAXAR to be precise)
There's a special adapter you can buy from samsung that has an extra space in the USB type C connector that will allow it to fit snugly. I on the other hand once I got a hold of of my gear vr (2016 version) having no idea it was going to be a thing took matters into my own hands (this was near Xmas and the part was going to take a month to ship) I took a not so subtle approach and heated up a pair of boxcutters over the gas burner on my oven and just trimmed away until it fit lol. For it to stay in I need to just use one good piece of either black electrical tape (preferred) or duct tape(REALLY let's the ghettoness shine through lol). Stays firmly in place all things considered, and despite the gaps/holes in plastic no light gets thru them whatsoever. To each their own I guess lol.
Brilliant cheers people I'll send it back for a refund
